In other words, I don't assess you merely by birth, rather as a process of continuing hegemony. Your birth was only the beginning (forgive the obviousness) of your membership to the Federation, but I believe that cultural apparatus has remained intact even in your current ideologies. That's not to say you don't possess the ability to undermine that hegemony to a great degree, in fact I must applaud you for overcoming it as much as you have. However, fundamentally, you are still part of it. I too am a part and I struggle every day to free myself. But never do I deny the truth that I am a product of the Federation.
I have never called you an enemy and I should hope I never will. But, once again, I believe you are still a part of that which oppresses myself and my people. That is all I wish to be acknowledged.
I have hated the Federation for things they have done, that much is true, and there is some residual hatred for the support of that Federation. However, I would argue that hatred and anger are completely natural and understandable emotions when faced with oppression. And yet, when I look back on what I have said, I'm not convinced they are simply some form of projected hatred. Perhaps they are passionate, but I think they have more objective merit than mere anger. Of course, I could be wrong in that respect, and similarly, your own opinions could easily be more than just denial.
You telling me what you "do and do not" is the very reason I believe you are a part of the problem I described earlier.
I sincerely hope you can see my questions and comments as an attempt to understand your position rather than trying not to see you "differently". Your denial or acceptance of the cultural hegemony would prove invaluable in that understanding, that is why I asked. It's entirely possible that you're not what I believe you are, I have never ruled that out. But again, that is what my questions are intended for, that is why I come back to this discussion.
