My personal opinion on the subject:
It has puzzled me on many occasions why the public at large is so concerned about what TTI chooses to do or not do. It's not like we spend our days terrorizing innocent traders at gates or invade neighboring regions with intents of conquest or chaos. We're not CONCORD and it's not our responsibility to keep the galaxy safe. All we care about is improving our lot in life and increasing the value of our stocks for our shareholders. It's just business.
All we really want is to be allowed to make a living and not be bothered. But it seems many smaller corps wish only to clash with us at every turn. Does it hurt us when this happens? Not really. With our economic power, combat losses are immediately replaced within a matter of hours allowing us to win any war of attrition.
Now Morkt has repeatedly claimed he is a neutral reporter but yet day after day he persues a course of action that can only suggest a hidden agenda against the fine example of capitalism that Taggart Transdimensional is. Need we forget what happend to INO? A powerhouse of journalism brought low by the devious actions of one reporter with an axe to grind. Now it seems that not only did MDW buy their press equipment and credentials from the INO fire sale but are taking up some of their questionable reporting habits as well. A contact close to MDW tells me that not only has Morkt been in contact with a few shady characters from INO's past but is engaging in a slanderous campaign not from a desire for good investigative reporting, but out of a desire for revenge. Revenge for the fall of INO that TTI has been accused (falsely) of engineering.
We've been accused of dealing with pirates. My counter to that is, who doesn't?? There is not one corporation who has not, at one time or another, sold to a pirate. As long as a buyer has the ISK and a license to purchase our goods, why should we forfeit our market share to appease your moral values? It's CONCORD's job to run backround checks on individuals who purchase weapons, not ours. Everytime you put ammo, weapons, drones or even cargo expanders on the market, you never know if the person that buys it is going to use it to commit crimes or not. So again, why should we forfeit our market share to make you feel better?
We do not "protect" any alleged criminal corporations. We protect the rights of the Venal alliance in it's sovereign space. Got a problem with a VA member corp? Handle it outside of Venal space to your hearts content. If you bring your conflict into Venal to persue your issues, then we have to get involved. Not because we "protect" these alleged criminals, but because we are defending our home.
Once more, this was my personal view and not an official TTI statement of any kind.
