Well, all who does what aside, TTI has yet to make an official response as to why it would , one one side, try to make themselves look like they are the 'good guys' but on the other side, ally themseleves with nothing but pirate corps. And as some of us are aware, I am sure a couple of those pirate corps are just fronts for TTI people who don't waht to live by the rules of the general universe. Meaning, the PC's in those corps are "black-ops" chars for the same people in TTI.
And to answer someone's question about why TTI is 'disliked' so much, you would have to go WAY back to early beta. And if you just of happened to meet Ragnor and a couple of TTI in person, then you would definatly know why they are disliked by so many. Vice-Admiral

Edited by: Hiro Protagonist on 08/08/2003 04:07:23 Between arranging mineral deliveries for his heavy ship sales, Hiro decided to take a break by reading the local dispatches.
"Hmph," he thought, "I'm allied with nothing but pirates and wear a grey suit?"
Hiro was no official or executive of TTI, so he couldn't speak for the company, but he did know a thing or two about the VA alliance and TTI dress code. Hiro double checked the VA roster to make sure - yep, some pirates there. Quite skilled ones too - at least the dispatch was somewhat veracious. Some traditional businesses too. So the dispatch was wrong on that point. He wasn't completely sure about the grey suit thing however. Was there some new corporate directive on appropriate dress that he didn't know about? Ragnar was known for his penchant for expensive suits, so it was theoretically possible. Hiro pulled up the corporate bylaws - nope, nothing on clothing except the longstanding special rule that Zedem must keep his clothes on in public at all times - and felt somewhat relieved.
Then Hiro panicced - had someone gone into his wardrobe and replaced his stylish outfits with boring grey suits? GunnyP was known to pull some really obnoxious practical jokes when he'd had a bit too much quafe after a successful combat patrol. Hiro still remembered the time GunnyP had replaced all the heavy neutron cannons on Hiro's Armageddon with light electron blasters after blowing up the Cult of Cthulhu battleship. GunnyP was still riling him about asking whether the Gurristas had suddenly upgraded their shields or something when he'd gone pirate hunting afterwards without noticing the new guns.
Hiro rushed to his wardrobe to check - only to find all his usual outfits - then his eyes darted to the floor - had GunnyP or some other prankster taken his most admired sartorial accoutrement, replacing them with dreadfully boring isk-loafers?
With great relief, he saw his most important posession - his blue suede shoes.

"This is Princess Akmazara reporting from Venal. We're undercover deep in alliance space investigating reports of TTI complicity with known pirate organizations......(static)........"
"We're approaching what appears to be a large cruiser bearing the logo of Space Invaders, a recognized pirate corporation....... also present is a TTI transport exchanging what appears to be weapons containers (static)....... Oh no they've seen us......."
"The cruiser is scanning us and warning us to leave the area..... we're taking minor fire....... wait a large battleship is approaching at high warp........" (static)........
The battleship is stopping next to the cruiser, will they save us..... no....... they are webifying us........ we need help here....."
Panic ensues on the screen and in the background the automated voice speaks "all hands abandon ship"
"The battleship has ordered us to eject...... requesting assitance........."
In the background the camera pans out a viewport at the Raven class battleship, the name on the hull in gold letters
TTS Liberte
Then suddenly the camera goes dead...........

Quote: We do not "protect" any alleged criminal corporations. We protect the rights of the Venal alliance in it's sovereign space. Got a problem with a VA member corp? Handle it outside of Venal space to your hearts content. If you bring your conflict into Venal to persue your issues, then we have to get involved. Not because we "protect" these alleged criminals, but because we are defending our home.

Prophet Arames

Prophet Arames scanned his holo-vids in an attempt to find morkt drak's writings... while Morkt had always spewed negative vitrulence against TTI, Arames always thought him humorous at least...
but no matter where Arames looked, Morkt's words had been erased from view... leaving only a date-time stamp that indicated this eradication was done in very much of a hurry...
Arames turned to his two assistants... "There is more to this than meets the eye." ______________________________________
