Patience m'dear, I have been contracted by Monsieur Ragnar of Taggart to provide a response to these questions. Once the nature of the Venal Alliance press release I just made public has been examined, look for followup releases covering the TTI corporation and connections and involvement with Venal.
The truth will out mon cherie ... be assured of that.

oh shock. oh horror. the ultracapitalist spacefaring libertarians have shown they will do anything at all to advance their own goals and enhance their bottom line.
this surprises you?
if you think you (or anyone) will persuade TTI to become anything other than what they are, i suggest you dig thru your archives for the keyword "Libertarian."
Also "Robber Baron."
You are in a maze of twisty little asteroids, all alike. |

"This is Princess Akmazara reporting from Venal. We're undercover deep in alliance space investigating reports of TTI complicity with known pirate organizations......(static)........"
"We're approaching what appears to be a large cruiser bearing the logo of Space Invaders, a recognized pirate corporation....... also present is a TTI transport exchanging what appears to be weapons containers (static)....... Oh no they've seen us......."
"The cruiser is scanning us and warning us to leave the area..... we're taking minor fire....... wait a large battleship is approaching at high warp........" (static)........
The battleship is stopping next to the cruiser, will they save us..... no....... they are webifying us........ we need help here....."
Panic ensues on the screen and in the background the automated voice speaks "all hands abandon ship"
"The battleship has ordered us to eject...... requesting assitance........."
In the background the camera pans out a viewport at the Raven class battleship, the name on the hull in gold letters

Then suddenly the camera goes dead...........

"Just thought I'd point out that we dont have any raven Battleships...."
Perhaps this matter requires a close investigation, then... someone is operating in the middle of Venal in a battleship disguised as TTi vessel, committing acts that can be considered questionable, at best... as if TTi's name hasn't been dragged through enough mud already.
... and quite the balls on the captain, whoever they are. :s

What certainly needs investigating is the mental health of the lunatic piloting a Raven class battleship in preference to the Scorp; almost beggers belief?

A Raven can fit plenty of missiles. When you can't run anywhere, seeing several Cruise missiles launched at you fouls toe pod-fluids.

"What certainly needs investigating is the mental health of the lunatic piloting a Raven class battleship in preference to the Scorp; almost beggers belief?"
Well, with the public opinion rampant, how TTi military division isn't exactly the most educated when it comes to functionality and effectiveness of equipment more complicated than your basic laser... i can almost see it as conscious decision in order for more believeable emulation of ineptitude...
...almost :s
OK, a (wee bit) more seriously, can't help but see the Raven as quite a statement about its owner. Could they spend their money better? certainly. Are they stupid? doubtful, to make the money for this sort of a ship one does need the brains.(or the really good looks and v.rich sponsors.. :s) Apparently, they don't feel like they have to concern themselves with petty issues like damage ratio or how useful their vessel is...
can't think of another ship coming as close to being the Rolls-Royce of the void as this one. :s

It would seem good Sir that you are some what rabid when it comes to the actions of TTI. How ever I find your MDW to be very informative. If I find anything of interest friday in Venal I will most certainly let you know. In the likely event that I do not make it out of the area alive I will have a comrade report our findings.

I assume one could ask why Morkt keeps on insisting he's neutral and what else he says while he at the same time seems to focus on posting every thread and news item that he has concerning TTI into this forum while all that other filler material he is running stays out of this place.
On the actual issue athand, if a group of corps takes over a region and effectively rules it they in my eyes are the law in that region. Power to them. If on the other hand a corp commits piracy outside of Venal space in this case that is of no concern to Venal. It is the problem of the locals wherever they are donducting their operation to clean it up and to bring them to justice. Regardless of where they will end up putting their HQ and home base you will need to get them before they leave for said place, whether Stain, Fountain or Pure Blind or Venal, once they are running you won't get them anyways. Venal Alliance consists of several corps that one could call pirates, the rest is a bunch of traders, miners and producers, and this is the way it is in most other regions that are run by corps right now aswell. This isn't something strange or something wrong for that matter, it's a simple fact that in order to control a region you need firepower, and frankly corps that do the most combat seem to be mainly in the area of piracy, another smart move on sides of Venal Alliance. That same corps at some point will become bored with the endless chatter of the mildly annoying small insects such as Morkt and issue 50 or 100 million ISK bounties for collections of his frozen bodies is also just as natural, that is afterall what the financial might of the traders, miners and producers is there for in the region based alliances... Then again they will more likely just ignore the nuissance as it is indeed not really something of importance...

My personal opinion on the subject:
It has puzzled me on many occasions why the public at large is so concerned about what TTI chooses to do or not do. It's not like we spend our days terrorizing innocent traders at gates or invade neighboring regions with intents of conquest or chaos. We're not CONCORD and it's not our responsibility to keep the galaxy safe. All we care about is improving our lot in life and increasing the value of our stocks for our shareholders. It's just business.
All we really want is to be allowed to make a living and not be bothered. But it seems many smaller corps wish only to clash with us at every turn. Does it hurt us when this happens? Not really. With our economic power, combat losses are immediately replaced within a matter of hours allowing us to win any war of attrition.
Now Morkt has repeatedly claimed he is a neutral reporter but yet day after day he persues a course of action that can only suggest a hidden agenda against the fine example of capitalism that Taggart Transdimensional is. Need we forget what happend to INO? A powerhouse of journalism brought low by the devious actions of one reporter with an axe to grind. Now it seems that not only did MDW buy their press equipment and credentials from the INO fire sale but are taking up some of their questionable reporting habits as well. A contact close to MDW tells me that not only has Morkt been in contact with a few shady characters from INO's past but is engaging in a slanderous campaign not from a desire for good investigative reporting, but out of a desire for revenge. Revenge for the fall of INO that TTI has been accused (falsely) of engineering.
We've been accused of dealing with pirates. My counter to that is, who doesn't?? There is not one corporation who has not, at one time or another, sold to a pirate. As long as a buyer has the ISK and a license to purchase our goods, why should we forfeit our market share to appease your moral values? It's CONCORD's job to run backround checks on individuals who purchase weapons, not ours. Everytime you put ammo, weapons, drones or even cargo expanders on the market, you never know if the person that buys it is going to use it to commit crimes or not. So again, why should we forfeit our market share to make you feel better?
We do not "protect" any alleged criminal corporations. We protect the rights of the Venal alliance in it's sovereign space. Got a problem with a VA member corp? Handle it outside of Venal space to your hearts content. If you bring your conflict into Venal to persue your issues, then we have to get involved. Not because we "protect" these alleged criminals, but because we are defending our home.
Once more, this was my personal view and not an official TTI statement of any kind.

Monsieur Byte,
I sincerely hope it never becomes the Concord's responsibility to do such things else we would read nothing else in the news apart from old ladies and children turned to sheets of flame by over-zealous Concord background checking sentry drones for the crime of ordering boiled sweets without a health certificate! Indeed, given the Concord's record of success in protecting "lawful" citizens going about their daily business in empire space it is truly amazing to me that the galactic powers haven't downgraded the Concord warrent to handling out pet licenses or some other minor bureacratic endeavour with minimal potential for significant harm.

Edited by: Miranda Storm on 06/08/2003 23:02:19 The technician's galacticomm rang in the middle of the night. She groggily reached for the on button, making sure to choose the "transmit voice only" subkey lest someone see her dishevelled state - too much Quafe can do that to a woman.
Edison, her boss, appeared on the screen. "Miranda! Get your tools and report to station transmission substation 38!"
"What's wrong sir?"
"Damnit woman don't act like a Gallente fool. Don't ask me questions just do what I say!"
"On my way"
Miranda quickly got her work outfit and tool belt on. "I wonder what could be wrong with station 38?" Then she remembered - station 38 was the one that that Drakt guy entered his "news reports" on. She had already had to replace the screen twice from the spittle he was apt to explosively project as he shouted out his news reports. She thanked the shareholder gods that he was one of the illiterate customers, shuddering at the thought of him insanely pounding on the station's keyboards.
Miranda arrived at the substation to find her boss arriving at the same time. In typical Caldari fashion, he wasted no time with pleasantries and jumped straight to work: "Damnit, when you worked on this station, did you do anything to the holostorage?"
"No sir - I replaced the screen and that's it"
Her boss calmed a bit, but remained all business: "Well, take that screen off - we need to figure out why the system is malfunctioning!"
Miranda immediately grabbed her tools and began removing it. "What are we looking for boss?"
Edison replied, "I think it is stuck in a temporal loop - I just saw a transmission from it that was authored by that Morkt guy - but it was just a rebroadcast of last week's news!" |

One of my spies, covering up as a female sex slave, has been able to aquire the knowledge that Morkt is a Jovian propaganda officer in the service of a rival jovian faction that does not like TTI! He has been trying to destroy peaceful-jovian/TTI relations by speculation and mass-posts on the communication network!
My spy also provided me with the location of this War mongering Jovian spy so I assembled my 3rd TTI Blitzkreig Frigate Assault Division and assaulted the cargo canister that he was using as his hideout! After a brief skirmish with the jovian drones that protected the canister we boarded the canister with my TTI Jovian Assassination and Kidnapping Brigade and engaged with a 4 hour firefight with the fedos that were enchanced with Jovian implants. After giving a few serious casualties we managed to defeat the fedos and continue into the command room of morkt.
To our utter shock, we faced a room full of monitors with a single chair in the middle where morkt was sitting. We approached him with our special anti-jovian equipment and tried to disable him while he was talking on his cell phone, but we failed miserably as and he unleashed the full force of his jovian arsenal on us! All of my team members were terminated, and only i remained.
He muttered something about carbonizing me and taking me back to Jovian Prime, but i managed to best him by hitting is Tech Level 5 Main Energy Stream Module with an empty quafe can! He retreated to his jovian shuttle and we launched into space, in a furious shuttle battle. But I was in disadvantage, as he opened the shuttle window and fired at me with his 75mm Jovian Gauss Railgun, I had to stop the chase and i returned to his cargo can, where i took the bodies of my fellow comrades as well as a Tech Level 5 Mining Laser and a full collection of gallentian erotic pictures of Jade Constantine!
I recall him shouting "Where is Chewbacca NOW?" while my team members were trying to restrain him. Does anyone know what kind of weapon a chewbacca is? -
