Hi,
I bought a Caracal and I've put 5 heavy launchers on it.
The weird thing is they only do about 40 damage while they should be doing 150, no matter which damagetype of missiles or small, big ships and structures I fire them at?
With assault launchers and lights the damage is normal, about 80 (no matter what damagetypeof missile).
Am I doing something wrong, it can't be that heavy's do only half the damage of lights?

remember that big missiles do normal dmg to big ships and less dmg to smaller ship... came with all the new skills in the last patch... uhm... btw... take a look at the missile skills and do some training.. u might find it helping quite alot...

be happy with that 40 damage! the missiles are over nerfed! just nobody seems to get that. MISSILES ARE OVER NERFED DO SOMTING
and don't say stop whining train skilz adatp fitting couse this does not work.

tbqh, I've been training all the new missile skills like there's no tomorrow and I haven't noticed any difference except the skills make them faster and go longer. No skills, as far as I can tell, works so that you get higher dmg to small targets when you train them. My Widowmakers still does some 30 odd dmg none the less. Dunno if they're bugged, or I am just plain unlucky. |

Adapt, train rails and EW :(
ATM Caldari ships that work are: Harpy (with 60mil gist SB) , Scorpion (EW with support) , Raven (all torps for BS 1v1)
Semi work: Ferox with rail set-up NPC or uber tanked assault launcher set up pvp Eagle for npc or to snipe intys pvp Kestrel in very specific roles if you are lucky Griffin as gate camp insta locker with 3xSensor boosts and 1 20km scram BB EW (or supertanked to make enemy waste some time calling it primary)
I am sure 50% of eve disaggrees with my assesment so ignore it if you like :)

Guided Missile Precision will increase damage against small target (requiers missile ops 5).
And you should know that without this skill even against most cruisers assault launchers will have better dps because the explosion radius on heavys are just too large.

unless you are going to exclusively hunt belt cruisers, switch to assault launchers.
also, train up all those fancy new missile skills.

Edited by: The Wizz117 on 26/09/2005 12:11:18 the explosion radius of all the missiles is to big. also they will decrease the sig radius and increas the ship speed with 40% ( T1 ship overhaul read it) this means 40% less damage for all missiles! tough nobody would see the difrends.. in stead of 7 they will deal 4 damage to frigates ..

I was hitting an inty for 45 damage and a BS for 175. Heh.

Well, not 100% true. only 99.5% true. They do help, but that help is usually only worth a few points, maybe, if your reaaal lucky.

I lost a zealot to npc's. was warped scrambled by some serpentis frigs. never hit them once. I had a painter, web and 4 focused pulse and maxed out gunner skills.
heavy missiles on the othere hand would have no problem hitting and killing them.
my cerberus alt kills npc frigs in 1-2 vollies with heavies. they don't hit for full damage but they do hit! |

What the hell?
30% sig radius is a pathetic boost (even once skills are added to it).
Make it +75% Sig Radius, like webbers are -75% speed.
Then include a module which decreases yer sig radius by 20%, so it can be countered.

You shouldn't fly a Zealot when you don't know how to use it. Learn to work out your transversal to lower it until your guns hit instead of complaining your guns don't hit. My Eagle kills any NPC interceptor with 250mm rails which aren't exactly tracking monsters... with a single webber (not painter).
On the other hand, my Cerberus has a lot of problems killing the fastest and smallest frigs with heavies, it takes for ages.
So... sorry mate, but I think you are making these rumors up and don't know what you are talking about.

you know excactly nothing about me buddy.
over two years of playing and over 34mil sp in amarr only should be enough. and getting your transversal up when you're webbed buy 5 frigs orbiting you at 500m is pretty tough to acomplish.
get a clue dude.
thing is some cruiser size guns hit frigs pretty well at some ranges. and wont hit at all at some ranges. this goes for every single cruiser size gun ingame! heavy missile hit at all ranges as far as I can tell. they won't hit hard but they will hit! |

I'm hitting NPC frigs for about 50dmg. thats about 250dmg every 7 seconds. I do lvl3 missions for caldari navy in my new cerberus. first I started off using assault launcher II's but I find the heavy missile II work better. they are little slower at killing the frigs but the massive range is better imo. |

Is the effect of target painters cumulative? Do you get a 25% signature bonus for each tag or only for the first?
