Good video making btw.

Honestly, the best thing they could do is make CONCORD defeatable. Right now its over the top. Don't make it as easy as it was but limit reinforcements and such.

Use FRAPS, but choose your key bindings carefully, otherwise you may discover you've accidentally recorded 10Gb of random Eve clips

It's a shame that you can do something that's completely allowed and within the game mechanics, and be forced to stop because people whine too much over it. I enjoyed reading about this, and hope you find a good way to strike back in the future (but I'll shoot back if I see you )

And with that you confirm the rumours that the powers that be, are nothing more than CONCORDS pawns.
I guess some find CONCORD kickbacks better than having a spine.

I'm glad they had the sense to knock it on the head, to be honest. I didn't exactly mind it happening and i agree with the principle that even in high-sec space there should be an element of risk. I even agree with the "demands" and i admire the creativity.
However, it was going to damage something somewhere if it continued - and that would most likely be our game. We'd have ended up with the inability to attack anyone else in high-sec empire or something stupid. When will people realise the way THEY play the game isnt the RIGHT way to play the game. Everyone pays their subs, whinging that people do or dont pvp is immature and pathetic.
TBH, if there was any realistic way of ganging together and popping him before he caused the destruction each time, then i'd be all for it happening on aregular basis. But there is no real way of preventing it or hitting back because he's only actually vulnerable for a few seconds during the whole event when he's in his pod, and thats lame...
Entertaining though Miz, and good vid..

Why would the "powers at be" want you to halt the op?
I don't understand why you should stop the killing where large numbers of players play.
You gave a warning to all that you would be in a certain area. For me I would just stay out of this area. Plus I also added Miz Cenuij to my addressbook. So I could be on the look out.
My question is: Why you can't anymore? |

That's crap. You warned. People didn't listen. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realized that you don't go into Jita or there's a strong possibility that you'll be podded while this is going on. And for pete's sake if you didn't know about it and got to Jita only to hear about it - gtfOUT! It's a shame that you were forced to stop Miz - simply because there is an overabundance of idiots and whiner's in EVE. It's like CCP is a farking babysitter or something...now kids, play nice. That's total crap.
This is a game people. STFU, take it like a man and grow a spine. You want retaliation? Take it to Miz, not to Mommy CCP. And I don't even want to hear the - but I pay cash for this game, only to lose thousands of ISK/time to this guy. Hey, if you did, that just means you're an idiot who doesn't pay attention to what is going on around you and you deserve to be podded.

I do actually agree with you on one thing. There does appear to be an overabundance of idiots around.
If you think a player should have the ability to make a secure system a no-go zone whenever they like, and you think that's a good thing, then... well... I think you're taking a rather shortsighted view of things. In my opinion.

Thanks for the support everyone (empire scum excluded).
It was great fun and I never expected it become such a large event. This happened not just because of myself, but because of many of you as well, from the people who turned up to hunt me, others just to watch events as they unfolded and the victims who took it on the chin, all contributed to what has been a great week in Eve.
Many other people have or have threatened to leave Eve owing to these events, tbh this didnt bother in the slightest, however it is worth noting that iam not the one recieving they monthly subs from these people and ccp's actions are simply protecting the investment they have put into the game.
Somthing to consider though, if this was a Dev run event and an evil NPC pirate had been set loose in hub systems in the same manner as I was, would many of these same peoples reactions and over reactions have been the same, or would they have a applauded a great and interactive event hosted by CCP ?
Last week my actions were given the thumbs up by a GM, ISD even caried out an interview, however last night it was decided that this decision be reversed. I had offered to roleplay an end to this Concord war but the more severe aproach was taken.
Again many many thanks to everyone who contributed in gameplay, isk, support and of course corpses
To Concord - In the words of the big man himself "I'll be back", this isnt over concord, not by a long way.
To all you empire inbred scum who cower behind Concord - I may not yet have freedom to fly through your empire at will, but when you enter 0.4 and under keep, your eyes open, because you sure as hell wont be flying through my space either.

Just to respond to this: I don't think any Dev run event would have been structured in the same way. If an evil NPC pirate was spawned, I doubt he'd have been spawning in a battleship and immediately setting off smartbombs right next to a gate.
If, for the sake of argument, it was - I'd react in exactly the same way. It's unrealistic and not much fun. If you're unlucky enough to be at the gate at the time, you're insta-vaporised with nothing you can do about it - not fun. The NPC then gets insta-vaporised. Not fun.

It was easy to stop me really as well, in an eagle with sensor booster 2's on and an alt remote boosting me I can insta lock a pod and as the video shows, the transition from Geddon to pod lagged me long enough for some in that or a similar ship to get the kill !
A little team work would have stopped me, I also have half a billion of implants in my head, so it would have been worth the effort. Not to emtion that cheeky lil bounty on my head

I did watch the video, and that did occur to me. But doing that means being in place and poised and ready at the right time - and you could just choose to not warp in if you saw an eagle (or similar) hanging around suspiciously nearby. You got to choose the time, so all the cards were in your hand. Not exactly 'easy' then, is it?

Actually, I don't. I'm realistically aware that the isk to fund such an event as this (not to mention the player coordination) is unlikely to occur (edit: inclusion of 'occur') very often.

Actually, I think CCP could have taken advantage of the situation, good for publicity and headlines in promoting EVE for RPers.
1. Miz was not just an alt, more like a real acct. Concord could have made a big bounty on him of 1/5 his worth.
2. Could have promoted it as, "Unexpected player created role playing that is changing the dynamic universe of Eve!" Afterall, I have yet to see any MMO-"RPG" that allows somebody to do this. If it had happened, I think it is the first time unless I have overlooked somewhere
3. Anyway, good stuffs. Was actually looking forward for it. BTW, I was near Jita to pod ya Just too tired to fish around. Had like 3xsensor booster gunboat. Yarrr... No hard feelings eh, I wanted to role play the girl that saved the day
4. Thanks for the song list btw.
5. Again Miz, good stuffs

I think it's a bit more feasible than that. It takes two accounts minimum - one to fly the battleship in, one to jump in and set off the smartbombs. Maybe another to pick up loot. So three people, or one person with three accounts. Not a lot of player coordination required there.
As for the ISK, with insurance and loot, it's not so high as to be enough of a discouragement I think. It'd still be too feasible (just IMO) for a single wealthy player to totally disrupt a system without any practical way to prevent them. If you take several wealthy players together, they could easily disrupt multiple secure areas using this technique for a extended period of time.
I could have seen copycats jumping on the bandwago had it not been stopped. And by people not even bothering with the roleplaying justification (such as it was) used by Miz. That would not have been good.

I now understand about CCP allowing you to continue, then you would kill off the new customers and the game community will not grow.
But what if you moved the actions to areas where more veterans are located?
Or will these actions be considered harrassment?
