EVE Online: Incarna 1.1.2 has been deployed. This patch focuses on increased hangar functionality, including the return of ship spinning, a new Cider engine for the Mac client and several other fixes. A Client Update is also available, focusing on further improvements with ship spinning. The full patch notes can be found here.
This thread is for issues and problems. When reporting issues, please specify which client you are using (Mac or PC). This thread is for reporting issues only; for general feedback please use the Incarna: 1.1.2 feedback thread here.
We have also a specific thread for Mac feedback and issues, which can be found here. CCP Phantom - German Community Coordinator |

Is this the sort of thing you'll have a client patch for tomorrow, or is this one gonna linger around for another couple expansions? Cause this is affecting a lot of people and is basically game-breaking. We are treating this as a high priority issue. And to address the QA question, unfortunately it's one of those issues that only happen under certain circumstances (the details of which we haven't determined yet but part of it is the timing of sequence of events) which didn't occur in our test environment. I know it's hard to believe when you see it happen every time, these are really the most annoying bugs. |

Good job screwing up your attempt on redemption CCP, won't be investing in a plex anymore. I know this is probably no help to you but it may help CCP figure this out but I had this issue and have managed to solve it in a round about fashion. I have two Eve client installs (I've always found this easier). After the patch today one client would not spin ships on any accounts but the other install would spin ships on ALL accounts. What I did was copy all the files from my "documents and settings\username\application data\ccp\eve\client ONE install\settings" folder to my "documents and settings\username\application data\ccp\eve\client TWO install\settings" folder. So it looks like the non-spinny thing is caused by something within the character settings files.
So you copied the settings and that fixed the spinning, is that correct understanding? You don't happen to have a copy of the original settings do you? |

It also seems to happen independent of what ship I have active (tried with 4-5 different ships). I have also been trying changing the graphic settings to mimic those in the client that works to no effect.
I am using Windows 7 64 bits. I would very much appreciate if you would file a bug report and include the settings from the two installations. Also mention my name in there so that it gets to me directly. Thanks :) |

Andreus Ixiris wrote:Overview and Station Services are resizing! CCP, I warned you about this. Twice on the forums, and once in a bug report. I warned you about this and you told me you knew of the problem - how did it end up in a Tranquility release? I pretty much specifically said "this will be a deal-breaker for some players". Why is this not fixed? You're still not listening to your testers. You still don't care that we're putting in the hours. I am very disappointed in you.
We did in fact receive reports of this happening, as stated in the threads you linked above we were never able to get this to happen repeatedly. The reproduction steps we had at the time of release were: 1. Wipe setting and cache 2. Log into CQ 3. ESC menu -> Disable "Load station environment" 4. Undock 5. Dock 6. Station menu now aligned to bottom right
But the above steps only triggered the issue once, after that it never happened again until the above steps were repeated. This led me to judge this as not severe enough to stop us from releasing Incarna 1.1.2 which hopefully seems like a logical conclusion. Fast forward to today, soon after Tranquility opened up it became clear that this was affecting more users than we had expected. It now seems obvious that this should have been considered a more serious issue, we will do our best to investigate the cause and provide a workaround. From our initial results it looks like it should be easy to work around this by modifying user settings so we should not require a patch. Very annoying. Overview / station window borked crew checking in. AP randomly deciding it doesn't want to work crew checking in. In more positive / less bitchy news the return of hangar functionality is really really nice, and it certainly feels like there's a reduced load on the computer, so nice change there. Just annoying bugs as expected.
Can you provide some more data on the autopilot not working please. Do you have any special settings such as systems on your avoidance list or preferences for security settings? Is there a message displayed when you turn autopilot on, does it remain engaged or does it turn off?

Could you try resetting the window positions to default in the ESC menu, Reset Settings, and see if that helps with the overview/station services moving around when docking/undocking? Not a guaranteed fix, but this seems to do it for a lot of players.

Could you try resetting the window positions to default in the ESC menu, Reset Settings, and see if that helps with the overview/station services moving around when docking/undocking? Not a guaranteed fix, but this seems to do it for a lot of players. I would like a solution that does not involve a few hours of work to redo all my overview on all my accounts. I would also really like seeing in the next patch notes something that says 'We finally fixed the window manager so that all windows will remember settings forever and ever and never do weird stuff again'. I am a developer myself and while I can understand problems with shaders, renderers or other things like that, I do believe that window managers are not rocket science. tl;dr: CCP, please fix the window manager so we don't get our overview borked every couple of major patches.
Resetting windows to default positions doesn't reset your overview settings, what CCP Legion is referring to is the 'Reset settings' tab in the ESC menu, in that tab there are options for resetting parts of the settings as well as the entire cache. While re-doing the various settings that this affects is a tedious task it is not as onerous as redoing all overview settings.
Regardless of the above I'd recommend exporting and backing up your overview settings just in case of cache corruption. CCP Gangleri | Quality Assurance | EVE Release Management Team |

Incompatible protocol means that your client is not running CarbonIO, the new and improved network layer that was deployen today client side. What build number do you see when you start up the client?

It's strange that the client, doesn't autopatch we'll look into it. Meanwhile you can just manually patch from http://www.eveonline.com/patches/patches.asp either by downloading the patch from 292761 or running the generic patcher.

Tried to use the generic patcher, which downloaded, even told me all was up to date, but when I go to log in, nothing, absolutely nothing has been resolved. Once again, see earlier post.
No of the suggestions so far posted have done anything. They seem to work but when you go to log in it's just the same old.
See earlier post!!
I'll check with Transgaming if they know of problems with XSlimmer and EVE. It might be worthwhile to try disabling XSlimmer, if that's possible, and give it another shot.

Same problem here. Mac running 10.5.8. Had previously removed many "unnecessary" languages on my Mac as well.
Please try the generic patch, it acts as a repair tool in cases where the client has been modified: http://content.eveonline.com//mac/evepremiumpatch304168-mac.tgz
Normal patches do not handle these edge cases since it is more efficient to build them directly from a known good version to the new one. Generic patches take longer to run and download more data than would be necessary for a direct patch. CCP Gangleri | Quality Assurance | EVE Release Management Team |

We are working on a fix for the overview issue which we are aiming to get out in the coming days. In the meantime there are workarounds outlined in this thread that have worked for some people. And believe me, we're just as frustrated as you are that we didn't catch this in testing. I know it's hard to believe when you see it happen every time you dock or undock, but it's the nature of these things that sometimes they only manifest under conditions that don't occur in our test environment.. |

The opinions of players investing their own time in helping us improve the game means the world to us. The issue here is that for specific client side bugs, in this case the window location code, erroneous behaviour can be tough to verify/reproduce. This is because you guys have us outnumbered and are running on more diverse hardware. As CCP Gangleri detailed earlier in this thread the window placement bug, was reproducible in house but in a more benign form, thus we decided to go ahead with the patch. A fix for this issue is coming next tuesday, and a refactoring of the window position code is coming in the winter release. |
