I agree on it but few things peek me out, I'll copy pasta it from elsewhere;

1 ) Why isn't the capsuleer floating around in ectoplasm hooked up with tubes floating in a pod? It seems like she's just sitting there like a fighter pilot.

2) Where is Caroline Dalton? (Aura)

3) Explaining who the 4 nations are could be a bit better.

That's about it, trailer was great though.

Simple: It's a trailer, a summary, a general intro, not a comprehensive encyclopedia. New players will get more info as they start to dive into the game.

Eh it doesn't TALK about the races, but it does a good job visually conveying them in a short span of time. Add to that the racial intro screens at character creation and it covers it nicely. I think in terms of pacing this way is better. I mean I wouldn't object to more info, but this new intro flows NICELY.

Imo I don't think they go far enough to explain the 4 races, Yes the racial intro screen has information but not enough, How else would you know who reinvented space flight, or how did the nations acquire the technology to be demigods, why the caldari split apart from the Gallente, and why they hate eachother? You could say go to the evelopedia page but even that needs updating. I'd prefer a 6-10 minute intro, with even more information at the character creation screen.

The pacing was decent, I can see they were trying to time it with the music, which might explain why it's rather short (even though some of the scenes are questionable, like the Nyx part where it's surrounded with vessels and it suddenly jumps to the next scene when it gets hit by the Ion Cannon.

It's a hard choice. The new trailer says much about the story, but the current one says so much about being a capsuleer and the world we live in. They are both great.

Why the hell would you want a trailer that is mostly gameplay footage of another, different game as the intro for EVE?

A decently made cinematic that actually gives people an idea about either the background of the EVE universe or what it is that a Capsuleer does is vastly more appropriate.

It's not even a very good trailer. EVE has a plethora of other, better trailers that are well made, good looking and about spaceships.

This is the best damn trailer I have ever seen from CCP and I've watched them all. I could hardly contain myself when watching this, no joke. It would definitely do a lot to get newbies excited about the game when they start the client for the first time.

It's rather interesting how decisive CCP's creations can be.

personally i believe it is, it does a way better job at explaining the backstory. the way cloning/'dieing' works. It does a great job at showing the war between the factions (honestly wtihout naming them but thats not really important for an intro, ppl will learn the names on the character creation screen). Furthermore it shows action, it shows the connection to dust and gets ppl interested into that too.

so what do you guys think, whats your opinion? should or could this replace our trailer? maybe with a few additions?

Unanimous? Should you not base your decisions on more than what 10 players of the 50k subscriber base says? Don't get me wrong, It's a good Idea but I wouldn't call It unanimous as far as the entire playerbase is concerned (as early as you did anyway). Kind of like reading the first 10 votes of an election that all chose the same person and saying "we will go with this guy because it's what everyone clearly wants".

Honestly, even in it's current form, this trailer does a better job of explaining things and introducing a new player to the Eve universe. It would aslo be nice to have a intro that imagines a more current Eve with things that have been added/altered since, like Dust, ship models, warp effect, weapons effects/sounds etc.

Well not exactly since there is not a real presentation of the four races. In fact their name aren't even mentionned. But apart from that, the story is very well explained.
(At least its basics, and if you excuse a few anachronisms and the fact that the character talking shouldn't be able to know what happened before the dark age)

Oh and the fact that there is a part about Dust. People could get confused as there is no dust on PC !... (yet hopefully, something important if you want a ten-year vision for dust too, but that's another problem)

One problem: If you release that as a trailer for EvE you will get complaints because nowhere does it say that EvE and Dust are two seperate games that cannot even be played on the same platform.

It is indeed a nice video but there are so many fanbois here having nerdgasms and not looking beyond the shiney to see that for an intro to EvE that video is really bad. It shows Dust 514 gameplay and planetary bombardment with a tiny bit of ship to ship combat. There is far more to EvE than planetary bombardment and that trailer shows none of it.

As much as I like the trailer, for it to become a proper intro to EVE Online they'd have to remove the Dust parts. While Dust is part of the EVE Universe, it's not included in the MMO.

I'm fine with the current intro. It's brainy, moody and it focuses on the most important part of New Eden: the player.The old intro feels to much like a history lecture. Lore is fine but as an intro to a player-driven sandbox, it kinda missed the point.

I'd make a recommendation thought, if it isn't too much trouble:

Swap the chick in the video with the player's character.

Imagine seeing your character "wake up" and then exit the station in his rookie ship.

I like it but I can't help but feel it wasn't as good as the intro? (not the current one the original one).

While it was very similar to the first into it seems to gloss over and skip through a lot of the major storylines, we don't see the reasons behind the wars, or even the wars that preceded both the discovery of the Eve gate and space exploration from Earth. I quite liked the idea that the conflicts driving New Eden now are characteristic of the human race and echos of our past.

I guess it was a bit more limited by the time constraints and the need to advertise Eve and Dust as a trailer, however a good trailer doesn't necessarily make a good into to a game in my opinion.

TL;DR I'd rather we had the original Eve into, it told a better story.
