And I ask the same thing about that much money. You have to have capital to begin trading and I mean a LOT of capital to gross a high profit. I know, I trade NPC commodities regularly. A typical run costs 12 mil. to buy up front, and profits after selling 600k to 1 mil. (2-3 short-jump runs). To get 600 mil. in 2 months... That much money and Indy 5 in 2 months... sounds like a story to me...
Edit: And yes, maybe you could get Indy 5 if that's all you trained, and nothing else (though I still doubt it).
I've got 1.4 million SP and I've not even hit the 2 month mark yet. Indy 5 is EASILY doable in 2 months. Maybe even in less than a month.
its not that easy. iteron is a rank 5 skill so from lvl 4 to 5 it takes about 1 month, depends on the attributes, (but training learning skills cost time also)
if you start with high perception then its posseble to get a iteron 5 in 1 1/2 month +- if you have good charisma and low perception to be a trader then yo wil be training much longer for the iteron
iteron 5 is about 1 mil sp
ooh and i would go for the viator, that is a damn fast transport ship. warps with 9 au + fast basic speed
smaller cargo then the occator but much faster, easely fitted with mwd also, with occator the cap gets to smal when using mwd
i persoonly use boh of them. occator for big transports and viator for the smal and fast transports
if your not talking bs then a very nice job by getting 600 mil as a noob and training for iteron 5 within 2 months
not sure how fast the occator warps as server is stil down and cant check. but the viator is 3 times faster then battleships

This story has been VERY inspiring. I really love your attitude about it. You can never lose, you can always replace what you've got. Always remember that the game is not the things you have, but the time you spend accumulating them.

Gallente Industrial, to my knowledge, is NOT a rank five skill at all... so I really don't know what you're talking about.

I don't feel sorry for you at all.
T2 BPO owners are always getting the **** end of the respectability stick because everyone always thinks they are out to rip everyone else off, all the time. Yeah, I suppose some T2 owners do sell at exorbanent prices, but most don't.
If fact, I would wager that most T2 BPO owners sell their goods at percent profit margins lower than you could with some T1 goods. Then some trader comes along, moves the goods along, resets them to where he can make a hefty profit too, but never get any of the blame for rising costs of the goods.
Go Fred!

Edited by: Snake Jankins on 28/09/2005 13:34:11 @Quanteeri Depends on the bpo. Some are isk makers and some are junk. Cap recharger-2 e.g. is one of these uber bpos. Power-diags-2 are as important and could be as expensive, but the producers are selling them for a really nice price. <3
One of my corp mates got an offer for the EM tech-2 shield hardener a few weeks ago and at least as long as the owners of this bpo keep the price high, I think he will never have to think about isk again.
Anyway a lot of the usefull t2 stuff is rather cheap compared to some named t1 stuff.

I have just over 2mill in skill points. It took 34 days to go from an Indy IV to an Indy V.
Wasn't really planning on being a truck driver. I just kept seeing these tech II buy orders, and thinking: wow if only my ship was this big, I could make sooo much money.
With my 4K in gunnery, I am a force to be reckoned with!!

Getting hit by suicide kestrels/caracals is NOT an isk sink.
It is to the player. He sank a quarter of a billion ISK into what's now an expanding cloud of dust in space.
It isn't to the game, ofc. No ISK's disappeared. But that's small consolation to the guy who got mullered.

Okay, maybe he got Indy 5, probably without any electronics, engineering, navigation, afterburner, fuel conservation...
But remember, you start the game with 10k isk and a newb ship. To even begin trading, you need at least 10 mil. and an indy before you can even think of making profit trading. If you are trading things like BP's that don't take space, you still need the capital. Unless someone gave him a bunch of money to start with... I still say "600 mil. in 2 months?"
Either way, if you did that from 10k and a newb ship in 2 months, you have nothing to worry about losing it as you can just do it again, no? And now already with the skills you trained still...
EDIT: Keep in mind, BIG's lottery first prize is 250 mil. and this is from ticket sales from hundreds of players... we are talking 600 mil. in 2 months here, just to give you more perspective on the size of this amount. ------------------------------------------------------ Remember, where ever you go, there you are! |

Yep , you said it.
I've taken on 3 caracals in my Iteron 5, and survived long enough for gate sentries to rip them apart.
Medium shield extender, medium shield booster, and 3 shield amps. That will give you enough shields.
