I got the certificate with an activation code on it. The code activates fine, but the item never shows up for me to redeem.. any one else having a similar problem? I've raised a petition but not heard anythj
worked for me.
1. went to the site that was in the attachment (eveonline.com/activate) 2. activated the code (WAS NOT LOGGED IN) 3. Clicked the big green "log in" button right below "hey, you'll get it next time you log in" 4. redirected to single-signon page 5. input login details 6. got sent back to a different page (white and grey, less pictures) re-confirming teh activation success 7. logged into EVE, see Thrasher in my redeemable items list (where it's staying til I'm back in my special loot hoard station) One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia |

Miyamoto Tekitsu wrote:Thanks for the reply Velicitia. I was hoping that they hadn't been enabled yet or something. Guess I will have to wait on a reply to my petition. Shame, taken the shine off what is an otherwise awesome deal. Edit: I have followed your steps and ended up with a different activation success screen. I will try it when I get home. Fingers crossed I logged in previously and selected activate code in the options on the account page. It activated successfully, but I never got an item.
Yeah, I ended up with two success screens -- there was the normal "you got stuff!" (like when putting in the fanfest goodies) which had a second login link that took me to the grey/boring one (with some other details that I didn't read).
Wonder if it's something that "broke" because of the single-signon. I've also had things happen where I think I'll stay logged in, but get logged out when I follow links (mostly from here to the wiki, or forgetting that I've been sitting on account management for 10 minutes or whatever). I failed at resisting spamming F5 on the eve store when they announced it.
I am disappoint at how little is/was there though (I expect a lot of that is due to either spinning up production lines, or not wanting to sell out before fanfest).

That worked for me as well -thanks! I haven't had a chance to dock and claim it. I don't see the Gnosis BPC in the redeemable items list though...
The way I'm reading the Collector Edition is that by buying the thing, you'll get the following "in the box", when it ships in October/November.
- Golden Pod
- Gnosis BPC
- Clothes
- DUST suits
- DUST guns
- Sarum Magnate Frigate (?)
- Hardcover book
- CD of the symphony
- Rifter USB Hub
- anything I'm forgetting
For those of us who have PRE-ORDERED, along with the above stuff, we also get the code for a Nefantir Thrasher. One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia |

Well, if that's what you get for posting the instructions three hours earlier, guess I'll keep things to myself next time.

Hey, hey, don't be upset *offers a virtual hug* Wouldn't have figured out how to work around the problem without you. I made the quoted topic as a lot of people seemed to be ignoring your instructions at first (probably couldn't find it?) - I should've credited you on it, I apologize.
First read was -- "OMGWTF! (*flies off to locators*)"
Now you get a space-like. Also, standing down the locators. One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia |

or the fact that i just spent 150 bucks on a godlen pod.
. This post made me sad about EVE to be honest. Getting people to spend 150 quid on a different coloured pod and other stuff and what's worse they seem to be targetting people who can't even spell "golden" I actually do feel a mix between pity and sadness for everyone who buys this cheap tat.
I bought it mainly for the USB Hub, Symphony, and book (well, the danger game looks interesting too).
Going on "good quality" stuff (i.e. not the $2 USB hubs you can find)
USB Hub -> $15 - $20 (obviously, none of them are as awesome as a Rifter model) Symphony -> $15 - $20 (based off what Orchestral / special edition CDs cost ... like "Wicked" or "Phantom of the Opera") Book -> $40+ Danger Game -> $15-$30 (based on board game prices)
so, this means that we're spending about $85-110 on the physical stuff (non-eve/CCP versions). Figure since it's "special edition" / "limited release" type stuff (i.e. you're not gonna see the Rifter or book in the EVE Store) then they could command a higher price, putting the physical things probably solidly in the $100-120 range ... in which case, we're spending $50 on
3 dropsuits (DUST) 3 guns (DUST) 1 drop link (DUST)
1 Thrasher (EVE) 1 Magnate (EVE) 1 golden pod
??? mystery items over the next 10 years. Let's just say 10, because they get released around Fanfest.
Seems a good deal to me, though I wish that they would have also been taking pre-orders for the other two books (the comic and other hardcover), because I'd have bought those right then too. I can give it to my girlfriend so she can use it as a usb hub at her office.... :P I think I'll wait until I can hold it until I decide what to do with it Jarod Garamonde wrote:(but you forgot the 5 extra Gnosum, from the BPC) I wonder if the BPC will end up valued more than the 5 Gnosis? The Gnosis gets given to everyone (I think?), the BPC is only in the CE I'm still hoping the CE could have a hard copy of the game, even though it's not likely (it's not listed in the contents), so here's some fun maths I both live in Australia and need to use wireless internet (wireless modem connects to PC via USB) For the price my ISP charges per MB, I'd pay two hundred and forty AUD to download the ~16MB? EVE client. The CE costs one hundred and eighty AUD including shipping
ouch ... though the client is more like 5GB, not 16MB ;) (note, this is the offline installer packages, not sure if there are any patches needed after running the installer though).
could definitely fit on a DVD and get shipped to you ... though with us getting patches every 6 months, I kinda doubt that it'd do you any good...
