Can anyone summarise to me the state of slavic domination of EVE? Its a bit concerning because from all I hear EVE is becoming "Russian" dominated and I've seen all kinds of games go down the hole when one exclusive language group dominated over others.
The way I feel it is currently is that all kinds of north americans, south americans and europeans are all blended together fighting with eachother and within themselves... and then there's the Asiatic groups, coming like the plauge to take the biggest parts of the game for themselves.. 0.0 and WH space etc. Given a worst case scenario, such a domination could be pretty detrimental to the game and the amount of people who want to continue playing. If what Im worried about has any merit I feel a server should be created for those who cant mingle. I know someone always has to win over others, but when its, as I feel it is, exclusive by nationality or language, I dont see that as fair at all.
Furthermore I hear all kinds of things about corruption among the Russian alliances and suggested illigitimate game play. I know everyone loves to gossip and slander the people they are at war with and moreso the people who are winning over them, but I would like to hear some personal experiences from people who are involved.
Please share your opinions with a sense of politically correct respect and let me down easy if my lack of forum research, study of sov maps and game events is misleading me. This is why I'm asking for people who are learned in the matter to inform me or otherwise set me straight. |

I speak many languages fluently. I never said english should be prominent, just that one language in particular shouldnt be able to hold the majority of a game because that creates language related bias and preference, leaving everyone else limited in their play ability. |

A large portion of the Russian-speaking population does not speak english all that well and so they've formed their own community where they can speak their own language. Quite understandable to be honest.

On a lighter note I've heard they are in need of new Titans. Um... a lot of incorrect info there. Russian community never been solid and united. Well maybe at the dawn of eve, but its long gone. There is quite a lot of different factions and small alliances. And they have a very large history of being at constant war and conflict with each other. And even now they are fighting with each other. I think russian shoot each other more than anyone else. And if you talk about DRF, russian alliances can be counted as core of this coalition, but they are not the largest part of it. There is quite a lot of english speaking alliances/corps in DRF. if you are bored, you can count player numbers on dotlan. What gives them an aura of dominance, is that they always been there, in one form or another They are part of eve history, and big political players, but in no way they can be counted as dominant force that can conquer entire eve.

Yes russian alliances are doing well in eve but as has been said above alot of them aren't allied and alot of them are allied with EU/US alliances.
Posting this kinda topic will do nothing but make ppl realise how much of a whiner you really are, also some of the phrases you use are very telling like "a server for those who cannot mingle" So what? ccp are meant to become institutionally racist by creating a server for non-russians? or somehow penalising them for doing well? because you cant take it that they are doing well?

You obviously aren't understanding. Take your snivelling about biggotry elsewhere. I dont care if someones doing better than me or my language group, I care if they are biggots in themselves and exclude anyone not of their language. Which has been my experience with russians. If they cant "mingle" as I said, which is to accept others, then they are the biggots.
I'd think with the time you have to write and re-read a post you might come up with something more astute. |

Guess its time to start learning russian. On a serious note, being of russian descent myself I kinda agree with you. Most of them (there are exceptions of course) are a pain in the ass to deal with. Since many of them barely speak any english they mostly do dealings with each other and generally dont play ball with the rest of us  . However, that being said I dont see why they should get their own server or be somehow excluded.
True, maybe a server isnt necessarily what's needed. But how do we get past that language barrier? |
