I mean, I know you've already implemented one from the same author, but the quality of this battleship and its fidelity to Gallente design philosphy is just too great to ignore. Do the Dominix a favor.

I'm extremely tired of people trying to get CCP to throw out an iconic design that a lot of people enjoy just because they don't like it and because they found a picture on deviantart.
The Domi is a 200-year old, mass produced workhorse, it's not the brand new sleek, sexy, sportscar, that's the Megathron, it's not a hulking muscle car, that's the Hyperion.
The Dominix is a van.
Sure vans get updated over time and new models come out, but they don't exactly suddenly get pretty, they're built for function, not form. Now I'm sure people will think of linking things like this to say that vans can be awesome too, but those are modded vans, something the crazy van enthusiasts would do, but behind all that paint and modding, it's just a van. It's nothing special to look at, but it does it's job.
Of course, the Domi could do with a touchup, there's a lot of unused space on the front of it that could be more interesting, and it's not exactly functional as a van right now, since it doesn't have any doors (drone bays.) The Sin could probably be made kind of interesting by going with the idea of what a bunch of crazy Dominix enthusiasts (CreoDron) would do when given the opportunity to pimp out the Domi.
However, CCP shouldn't throw out the DomiVan just to replace it with a sportcar someone found, or in this case a muscle car, or a Caldari ship, or a Minmatar ship, or god knows what some of the suggestions I've seen for updating the Domi even are.
tl;dr: That's a very nice ship, but it's not the Domi, the Domi is a van, and even if it gets updated, it should stay a van, not a muscle car.
Honestly I don't even understand the complaints, the Domi isn't ugly, it's not pretty or sexy, but it's not ugly either, it's just... the Domi. |

You have an issue with how the Domi looks? That's your opinion and you're allowed it.
But it is just your opinion.

Please leave the Domi's overall shape alone for all of us that are very happy with its functional looks.

But they are redoing the Apoc model, why can't they touch the Domi exactly? Not re do it entirely but at least make it look like something else than a space potato, no? |

Leave the domi alone. If you look at it you will see it actually has some of the best textures. Functional look is good. If it was an aircraft it would be a Sea King.

These player modeled ships are mostly awesome and so much better than most of actuall ships... it would be nice to see them somehow ingame... meaby use more than one model for a same ship and let player to pick which one wants to built ? |

I tried to spin that one in the OP's link; it didn't work. I think its a sign that the Domi should be left alone.

The general model of the Dominix is fine.
It just needs to be updated like what CCP did with the Apocalypse and it'll be prettier than ever. I'm particularly looking forward to the Domi getting a physically visible drone bay on the model like the megathron has. And then maybe some model improvements to make it look sleeker and sharper. |

Why do I want a 'sleek' Domi? So it is graceful and majestic as it flitters about above spring meadows? No I want a big fat unit that spits out drones all day long and generally just sits there, it needs to be as aerodynamic as a potato so they built it the same shape as one! |

That image doesnt even look anything like the current Domi...
My guess is that theyll just make the new domi somewhat more streamlined with a [hopefully] very big and detailed dronebay. |

how ever on the gallentian school for ship construction, apprentice ship designers learn:
ships look either like space-cancer or if you redo them very sleek and streamlined.
thatswhy gallentian ship yards have a special machine which takes newly finished hulls and sucks on them till they look like a half finished candy.
all the new additions and reworks of gallente ships are super awesome (talos, megathron, algos, nemesis) . it's about time the dominix gets the same treatment. a great ships which looks just uninspiring.

I'm not 100% sure I "love" that one that was posted, however it is 300 times better than the domi is now. I don't care what anyone says such as "its iconic leave it alone" because the domi as it is now is nothing more than a motorcycle that someone that forgot to put the wheels and handle bars on...
I'm am ALL for changing the entire look of the Domi and the Vex... |
