you guys were propably busy logging on and off in p04 so it looks like they went to have fun elsewhere.

No. Damage from 5 bs would be simple not enough, to penetrate tank.

Personally I'd be interested to hear the circumstances and kitting around the actual battle ie, was it a sniper fight, was one side kitted for long range, the rest short range all BS with AB's etc.

I can't confirm the exact figures, I wasn't there. But yes RAT did come along, and yes RAT did win. I belive 2 dreads went down, but thats all I know atm. Working out losses over 3 alliances is not that easy.

From what I recall, our only real long range ship was one of the dreads, the rest were close range. It's not easy to win when your stabber gets sniped by 2 tempests featuring t2 howitzers at 100k.
Oh well, I put all my 2.3m sp into defending friends and we lost. Good work RAT. |

CVA may be my enemy but they are good guys, will always come back to fight no matter what loss.. To be honest i find it extrememly insulting that you would come on the forums and flame them to hell for having the guts to bring dreads into combat..
Even though they can be jammed/disrupted/made useless by overpowered mods..
I think these ships should be invulnerable to ew completely even out of siege mode, there arent many around, this jsut shows how overpowered some modules are..
No matter how big the ship is it can still be made useless by a fleets combined 100 med slots..
My congratulations go to CVA. Even though they didnt win they definatly will hold face, not smack in local or on the forums, or cry about losing some ships..
I wonder if carriers and titans will be as "useful" as dreads..

Nice to see CVA keeping up their great class, and staying out of this thread... which is pointless to say the least, and blatent flamebait.
Every time I've fought against them they've been great guys. Props for them taking the dreads out to play. CVA have always stayed abouve the belt, fought fair, and deserve the upmost respect for their actions, and trustworthy nature as an ally or indeed in my case and enemy in-game.
Props to CVA. Shame on all those bragging and flaming like children.

Roger, RAT has no class, they did similar thing after doing a blatant and disgusting logon trap on the 5's freighter.

I am pretty sure I wouldnt waste my time chasing around a fleet of sniping battleships who sit 150km off a gate and stay autoaligned to a safespot to warp whenever a fleet 60% of their size moves into the area either.

WeÆll come up to visit FE again soon and you can again win by losing more ships with twice as large of a fleet, but that's only when we get to jump in to you thru the gate at 150KM with drones out and snipe you to 60% of our size before we warp out.

Courage?? Surely thats the wrong word. There is nothing brave in losing 2 of the games most expensive ships to a smaller fleet. I think in hindsight the CVA fleet would have put the dreads straight back in the station.

If you had posted on Vid's section and then posted the fraps and let the people see it for themselves it would have been far better.

Dunno, but they'd still need someone in another system to enable jump beacon, and then quite long time for jump drive to fully spin into action? ^^;;

While the wording of this thread's title may have been a little harsh (who knows, maybe it was just in jest), the responsibility for fanning the flames and turing it into such a flamefest ultimately lies with the posters (not all, but you know who you are).

From what I understand chatting to people after the battle the combination of close range setup CVA ships combined with the use of Sniper BS and disrupters on RAT's side sealed the fate of the fleet and the two dreads, maybe if there was a Moros the story might have been different, unfortunatly the dreads tanks could not sustain the combined fire af RATs forces. RAT had the fleet configured optimally for this engagement and thus kudos to them for doing so.
Dreads don't seem to be the uber ships that they might first appear to be, anyway the only way to learn what they are good and bad for is to fight with them. What would be good is to hear from people that have used them in fleet battles and where they were good. At the moment I think every disrupter in a fleet gets locked onto a dread as soon as they appear and thus apart from maybe a Moros (35 drones) any advantage seems to be lost. Maybe disrupters need a chance of working against a tracking strength, the larger the gun the bigger the strength like ECM does now as they do seem overpowered.

Congratz to CVA for the good weed they where smoking. Nothing else can explain why such a thing would have been done. If having big balls was measured by the amount of isk lost then Friendmaster would sit on his 2 beanbags instead of a chair. As far as the topic goes, what can you say they are russians.
