Luminaire - The Federation President and Republic Sanmatar have released a joint statement after having acquired intelligence that House Sarum is preparing itself to launch a new initiative in the Reclaiming, the Amarr term for the religious war of conquest which involves the taking of slaves from conquered populations. |

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't worried. An escalation of this nature, if it ends up being backed by the entire Empire, could well cause both wars to explode into a scale greater then anything we've seen in the past century.
Then again, it could be argued that the militant spreading of the faith is finally on it's last death throes, with the failing of the Crusade and Jamyls emancipation policies. ... And warfare is what House Sarum is built around at it's core. With even the Emperess - From their own house, no less - Remaining distant in her support, this could represent a final do-or-die attempt to revitalize the practice, and their relevancy, in a surge of nationalism born of the Empires almost consistant defeats in the militia war, before their power and support base crumbles completely in the face of changing politics.
My knowledge of Amarrian politics is rather slim, however, so I could be completely mistaken.
Regardless, though, I wouldn't want to be amongst their ranks if the other Houses don't follow their lead. |

The last time a House mobilized its fleet without the support of the Empress, it was stripped of its military forces and shamed before its contemporaries.
House Sarum acts out of turn unless it is in private communication with the Empress, which would be an even more disturbing matter as it relates to Imperial politics.
I cannot help but be dismayed at this information and pray that the Empress vocalizes her stance soon. |

The last time a House mobilized it's fleet without the Empress' support and DID SOMETHING with it they were massacred nearly to the man by their chosen target, with minimal opposing casualties - and the House in question was greatly reduced in power after the event.
It would seem House Sarum has learned nothing from history, and volunteer themselves for a swift reminder.
I just wonder how many end up dying pointlessly this time, and where.

One of the royal houses might be doing something and allready the heathens demand repatriations from all Amarrians, by force if denied? I heartily concur, in sincere hopes that the Amarrian Empire will reciprocate this intergalactic diplomatic stance, to it's fullest.
Unless House Sarum is in actual violation of treaties signed by the Imperial throne or House Sarum itself, I see no legal case for the Imperial throne to intercede in favour of heathens who have continually established their hostility towards Amarrian Faithfull. As per statements and diplomatic stances expressed by these so called diplomats of the Republic and Federation.

This is a distressing turn of events, coming at a time when my people are already reeling from distressing events.
Hopefully, my brothers, sisters, cousins and kin will think before we act. We have no reason to not take this quite seriously, and as such, we cannot afford to respond in piecemeal, random fashion. While I hope this is just a random and unsanctioned act by a single house, the fact that it is the Empress' house does not bode well. This will lead to a widening of the war. I do hope this does not come to pass.
If it should come to pass, I have every faith in our ability to repel any invasions. This does not mean that said invasions will not result in people being harmed, killed, and/or enslaved. This will be unavoidable, but it has not happened yet. This will do nothing but deepen the hatred of, and resentment toward, the Amarr and their Empire among my people. I should hope that "the faithful" do not pretend to be surprised when that is the result.
Patience and planning, my sisters and brothers. We can weather this storm, as we have weathered all before it. "There is no strength in numbers; have no such misconception."

Politically and religiously important members of the Amarr Empire threaten to invade Minmatar space and enslave Minmatar citizens. The Imperial government makes no attempt to abate these threats. The Minmatar government and its supporters quite reasonably declare that there will be significant negative consequences if the threats are put into practice. Amarrians and their supporters cry loud and obnoxious crocodile tears and whine about how violent and unreasonable the Minmatar are.

This isn't anything new. The Amarr have been announcing the beginning of a new reclaiming since the end of the last one hundreds of years ago.
Also, if just one house plans on attacking, the invasion would be a hilarious failure. When Kador attempted to invade Gallente space singlehandedly, things didn't go so well (the space battle lasted a few minutes). Of course, a reclaiming would be on a much greater scale but there are only so many resources a single house could put forward. The minmatar probably wouldn't need our help repelling an attack on such a small scale, but we'd be willing to provide it.
That said, obviously things will get bloody for everyone involved if the full might of the Amarr Navy strikes.

I believe a famous scripture passage says it best:
"I give to you the destiny of Faith, And you will bring its message to every planet of every star in the heavens: Go forth, conquer in my Name, and reclaim that which I have given."
The Matari started this war, but we will finish it. It is good to see that Lord Sarum understands this. Our Lord visited his flock and saw that all was not good.Blasphemy and heresy ruled the land. The Lord punished the sinners and drowned them in their own blood.-á |

I'm sorry but don't hide behind the scriptures and use it as an excuse for your assholishness to say the 'Minmatar started it.'

Wow, Roden's showing the balls to do the right thing for once. I'm impressed.
This is mostly sabre rattling though, the Amarrian Empire won't risk CONCORD Mandate, those loud voices of discontent and wishful thinking will continue to sit behind the Ammatar body shield thrown in the Republic's direction as they continue to prod and poke.
It's almost like some elements of the Empire want to goad the Republic into making the first step. Enjoy your gaming.

I'm confused Admiral, had I looked at such an analogy, I would say it is the Empire who pokes at the Hornet's nest, and has done so for several generations.
This is however an escalation on both sides, a cold war if you will. The trick is not who can strike first and catch their enemy off guard, but who can show restraint, favour will be shown by the rest of the cluster to those who have war brought upon them by force, not by choice.
And no one Empire is greater than the might of the other three. Enjoy your gaming.
