Edited by: Vorshal on 02/10/2005 04:36:15 I want revenge either I will try to pay for it or I will offer services in part of compensation for the work carried out for me.
Tonight I entered into the Resbroko system in Minmitar space, I was flying a harmless defensless Industrial vessel with the sole purpose of collecting some goods I had purchased.
I had travelled over 11 jumps to get to Resbroko and was approaching the station to dock when I was locked and fired upon by a pilot called Origin.
He continued to fire until my Industrial vessel was space dust, quickly I managed to get my pod into the space dock, where I jumped into a shuttle and decided to make an exit out of that system.
Upon exiting that station I was warp jammed and shot until my shuttle was destroyed and my pod was also destroyed.
Now considering that I had come all that way to pick up goods in my Hauler it was destroyed by Origin so therefore I could not transport my goods back to my home base.
Now I am a young pilot and I dont expect to be fired upon when I am in a passive vessel that has no weapons or valuable cargo.
Origin claimed he was a pirate, but what kind of pirate does that make him if he just kills me without getting any monetary gain?
Personally I think he is a pretty poor pirate and therefore I want nothing but revenge for the loss I have sustained.
I have been in eve for 7 days and have had ore stolen and now I have had the only hauler I had destroyed. If I had enough ISK I would place a very hefty and appealing bounty upon his head, or I would command a ship that was powerful enough to take him out, so that I can watch and revel in the glory as I see him get blown into space particles.
What kind of revenge can a new member to eve possibly obtain?
I want Origin to be destroyed, he flies a Megathron class vessel and is equipped with warp jammers or what ever they are called.
Please bless my station hanger with his corpse, so that I may hang it from the ceiling and stare at it each time I return from a hard days mining.
Thank you

You expected wrong. Hope you didnt loose anything too valuable. Consider this a lesson.
And what 'pirate' wouldnt want to fire on a hauler that might have valuable goods on it? Shuttles can also carry blue prints or small expensive loot.
Most bountys cost around 50-100+ mill.

The post gave me the impression that he was tanking sentry guns at a station (unless this was 0.0?) and so no, he shouldn't be ransoming as it would be a rather dumb thing to do.

Dear sir ...
I understand your plight , I too am a young Pilot and was very shocked at the pure disreguard for fellow pilots that exist in our universe. You ask what reason did he have for destroying your hauler ...simply he was looking for easy loot ..this seems to be the way of Pirates ..they threaten to destroy your property for money, or destroy what you have in hopes of gaining goods to sell, they are a lazy and self interested lot the seak money and power but would rather exploit it from hard working people than work for it themselves.
you say you have nothing to offer in the way of reward or Bounty but you want revenge .
My sugestion to you Sir is either make money and Pay someone to teach this Scumm a lesson. or advance your own fighting and Pilot skills and go blow the Low life to bits yourself.
I would drop you a few words of wisdom thet were gained myself shortly after such a loss
1) if your not a fighter dont buy goods in low sec areas 2) if you have no choice but to buy goods in dangerous areas either pay someone more skilled to retrive those goods or hire the service of a guard/escort to those areas 3) before hiring anyone to transport goods check thier history require refferances , ask for colateral 4) the same apllies to hiring a armed escort 5) donr be a soloist join a corp most corp members will provide the above services at a bater or low charge. 6) TRUST is earned untill others earn your trust dont give it. 7) dont fly anything you cant replace to any system with security rating lower than 0.7
I am sorry for your loss I am sorry if my words to not help I vow that if Scumm like what you encountered cross my path one of us will be going home and one of us will be a clone.

Unfortunatly that's life in low sec, people fire on new players as the might be what is called an alt, that is a secondry char that a player uses and of course the alt might be shipping very valuable stuff. An easy way to see if a char is an alt is to look to see if there is a bio and what is written in it, also to look at the standings. In most cases an alt will have just the one training agent and nothing else as only new players tend to follow the first few missions.
It's a shame that new playres get cought up in this as am sure it can be quite offputting.

there is a reason to pod hauler pilots near sentries. if you're killing them in a HAC, you want to get them out of the system so they can't get a newb ship and collect their expanders while you're flagged.

LOL
I love these posts. Vorshal didn't you notice the warning CCP has provided to tell you that you are entering low security space ?
Anyway, I note that according to your quote 'The Mal'hajat are highly skilled Intaki warriors who are trained in the defensive arts of Cho'odai'.
Why didn't you use 'Cho'odai' on him ? I'm not sure what the Mega's resistances are to that ancient art !!
Seriously, an important aspect of this game is pvp and some of us play just to blow things up. If you don't like it, avoid low security space.
Also if you've just had your ship blown up, it might be best to check local before you undock from the station, to see if your enemy has left the system, otherwise you're just giving him a really easy second and third kill.
Sorry that you had to learn these lessons the hard way, but that is part of the Eve experience. Just don't make the same mistakes again.
I won't ask whether you had a clone or insurance but if you didn't there's your next lesson learnt.
Don't take it personally, it's just a game.
Fly safe (next time).

Ok so a new player is upset because he lost alot of money (in his view) and the best you all can do is sit here and mock him? Wow talk about adding insult to injury. Honestly, dont you think at least a FEW of you could've just said "Ill kill em when I see em". Even if you WEREN'T going to do it, it would still make him feel better rather then leaving a sour taste in his mouth. =============================================== You may have won this match, but I bet I have better standardized test scores! |

I'll kill him when I see him.
Ignore the asshats and chav trollers in the thread. It's lowsec and bad things happen unfortunately.
Anyway, I sent you some ISK to help you back on your feet. Everybody makes mistakes. Only fools repeat them

Its all very well telling me not to go back into low sec space, but I had bought 3 huge secure cans there so that I can mine more safely. I went in my indy to pick them up and would have had to make 3 journeys. Now my secure cans are stuck in that system and I have wasted alot of ISk along with loosing my Industrial.
And I will never forget his name....Origin

Maybe you shouldn't have bought them in low sec?
They sell all over in high sec for the same price, from NPCs.
You will encounter countless other pirates, and they will kill you, because they want your loot. Get used to, it, adapt, this is EVE. -- Proud member of the [23].

EVE is a harsh unforgiving, yet strangely rewarding game in the virtual sence, I personaly was not mocking him, I just didnt suger coat it and hold his hand.
This experiance will prob motivate this new guy to train his skills harder and choose his actions more wisely, so he may have lost a hauler but gained some invalubale exp.
No comfort for the lost hauler but calk it up as a learning exp, and check system thast you are buying stuff in. And peeps can call me a ass I dont care, a 7 day old toon I believe that is how old the OP is, should not be in low sec, lot of old toons have there alt toons carry valubale stuff in haulers so they are juicy targets to take a risk on.
This is EVE folks danger danger adapt or die

You've been playing for 7 days total and you entered low sec space?
Welcome to EVE, this isn't some pansy game like WoW, enjoy your reality check. I personally am not moved by this, because these things happen over and over. If you want to be safe while hauling, get escorts, or you're SoL.
Your best course of action is to read up in the forums and guide sections of the web page, so that you know how the game works.
