3 days ago i left my 0.0 Allicance corp due to lack of PVP. I'd mined myself a 100mill leaving fund. I left and joined a Pirate corp. My caracter is 2 months old.
My current loadout of choice:
2x Cap recharge booster
1x webby 1xscram 1xMWD
4xRocket Launchers.
Day one:
I didn't find any targest to kill, that was probably due to my inexperiance with the scanner. My corp went out in a gang, we were being gang warped around the belts. I got stuck in the roids and was killed.
There was some action, but unforutnatly i missied it all while i was away.
Day two:
I found a Apoc in a belt mining with drones around him, i went in and attacked him. Big mistake, kessie dead within a matter of seconds.
I replaced my kessie and found a throax mining at a belt later on. I attacked him with my MWD webby and scrambler, and was eating up his hp, but then i ran out of cap and had to leg it (my MWD stopped so his guns could hit me)
Later on in the evening i joined a corp hunting gang, we found a couple of targets. At the time i had replaced my MWD with an Afterburner in an attempt to save cap. Which worked in that i could run all my stuff indefinatly, but i never got a shot off at any of them as my corp mate had killed them all (mining cruiser and a frig) before i could get in range.
Latter on in the same gang i made the mistake of trying to be too clever for my own good. I saw 2 groups of ppl fighting each other, so i though i'd sit there and attack whoever won. That was a mistake, me and my corp mate were killed.
Day 3:
I found an Apoc at a belt in scanner along with a load of NPCs. A fellow was mining in his apoc, tanking an NPC spawn. I warped in, webbied and scrambled him and started orbiting at 500m. My rockets broke his tank so me and the NPC gradually took down his armor, as the pilot yelled in local
"help, player rat belt X". I got him down to around 25% structure and said 50 mill and i let you go, "**** off" was the ****s responce. 20 seconds later his ship was space dust. w00t.
I was felling great, appoaching his loot can, when his mates warped in. In my panic to get away i warped for the 1st thing i could click on, which unforutantly was a station. Bang bang go the sentries, dead kessie. His mates had followed me to the station, and procceded to pod me.
Still not a bad result tbh.

this is probably the saddest thing i have ever read... an apoc goin down to a kessie... a newb apoc pilot, otherwise you wouldnt have stood a chance, and as for your kill, yesterday i got 12 kills alone.. pvp vexor 4tw

Awesome job preo. One tip, once you get into scrambling/web range, you can turn off your mwd. Only really use your mwd to get closer or dictate range. In a close range orbit with your mwd on you are really just wasting cap, and you have a big sig radius actually making it easier for people to hit you.

On that note, rethink cap-enhancements in your lows. As DrunkenOne pointed out, unless you plan to MWD 100% of the time then you don't need "Cap Enhancements" in lows. Once in range, MWD off and orbit. Then maybe your lows could use more love to something else that could better the ships overall performance. If you can fit something more useful that is.

Way to go Preo!
Newbies like me (if not just me :P) frequent this forum specifically for stories like this as inspiration. I guess if you're going to ransom them it's probably better to go low for your firsts and see how fast they come along instead of the other way around. Regardless, you sound like you've got good company for your goals so I'm hoping for a followup ^^
I've not had any chance at PvP yet and the last time I had an opportunity to play I spent the night chasing miners who kept getting away. Later, Way past midnight, I was tired and spotted a guy with a bounty on his head and a big red WANTED infront of his avatar, failing to notice his positive security rating I followed him and opened fire near a 0.3 gate only to have my puni go boom in seconds. You can only really smile and learn from things like that ;) He must've found it amusing too as he offered some advice and a helpful donation (which I didn't spot before afterwards.. hopefully he got my mail) (mental note: must pay more attention)

I find it quite interesting what happens to new pirates. I enjoyed reading his post and to win a Kessi vs Apoc (with some NPC-rat help) is not bad!!! I allways say: donŠt kill our little NPC-friends!!! They are good at helping! With some leadership of a player Kessi they can perform a lot!

I, for one, enjoy reading post like this. It shows that people are actually enjoying this game (except that poor apoc pilot of course). Its a nice change of pace from the threads complainging about how they are having a miserable time in EVE

You did EvE a service kid. Anyone who mines solo in an Apoc without the means to even fend off a frig or npcs simply does not deserve to fly that ship.
Never tried myself, but you might beable to make your mwd run forever with the right skills/items et on your ship.
A Kestrel killing an apoc is just funny though. I hope you screenshot the explosion, and the kill mail, then superimposed the killmail into the explosion's pic, and sent it to your friends (it'd make a funny background too  ).

My favorite fights are always those where one side is ridiculously outmatched, yet wins.
Example fights in my personal history: T1 Kestrel versus T2 claw (kestrel wins with 40% armor left), T1 raven with 2-3months of skills versus 3 battlecruisers (They don't get me past 90% shield), 2 ATUK HACs versus my tanked apoc (I win by surviving 10 minutes until reinforcements arrived).
Each time there was always a reason why I won--for example, I beat the two HACs because they were using lasers (zealot) and EMP/explosive (vagabond) when I had EM/therm hardeners on for NPCing. But even when it makes sense that you won against a stronger opponent, its still quite satisfying.
