I now know how Faction ships are better than there original counterparts, but are TL2 or Faction ships better? _______________________________________________ Member - [CHRST] Christian Fellowship Foundation

Tech 2 Ships > Faction > Tech 1.
Basically the same as modules:
Tech 2 > named > Tech 1, except some Faction loot is better than T2 I thinks, but there isn't a Ahremen's Modified Maller...yet... -------------------------------------------------------- Lance Corporal BSC Military

Tech II ships are generally better in terms of fitting abilities (notably extra slots) and for their considerably better natural resistances to damage.
Check the item database or the information from the market for details, cf. Omen vs. Zealot, Enyo vs. Incursus, Vagabond vs. Stabber.

Faction's are T1 ships that have faction bonuses. Like Blood Raider ships having webber and nosferatu bonuses, because, well, that's what CCP wants the Blood Raiders to be known for.

Actually, the empire faction frigs are worse than most top tier T1 frigs. The Amarr navy Slicer just plain sucks, for instance --------
FireFoxx80: If you think you can do a better job, go find yourself a datacentre to host a box, get a copy of Visual Studio, and STFU. |

Faction BS are the only ones that seem worth it to me... and the blood raider ships.

The hookbill is better than the merlin but not enough to justify it's price by far. Tuxford said he where going yo boost the navy frigs but after seeing the stats of hookbill mk2 I can not say I am impressed. Again it's just not worth it.
Hookbill mk2 vs Merlin mk 2. Hookbill got 100k less mass, 7 more pg, 5 more cpu, 1 more sensor strenght, 50% more shield/armor/hull, 30 less!!! cap.
Would you pay 50-100m for a ship like that?
It also has some special Caldari Navy bonuses, don't know what they do but they would have to be very good to justify the price. isCaldariNavy: 1 caldariNavyBonus: 1.25 caldariNavyBonusMultiplier: 25 caldariNavyBonusMultiplier2: -25

Edited by: Xharky on 04/10/2005 03:30:15 For those Caldari Navy multiplier things...
@ Hoshi, this is just pure speculation on my part but... when browsing through jide's item database, Here I found that some items had a "Navy multiplier" too, like Gallente Navy: 0 or similar things like that... perhaps the faction ships would be getting extra bonuses if they use same faction equip? Like Hookbill + Caldari Navy Standard Launcher or something similar
Edit: Btw, Hookbill prices are like 8 mil now along with succubuses and daredevils -------------------- <&Hammerhead> Observator results make pretty good safe spots |

I really wish they'd bring down the pure isk price tag on the empire frigate offers, or bring down the LP cost of the other frigate offers...feh. -==- Holy-Jim> as you know, surprise is the key to victory.....surprise! LooseCannoN> ahh! LooseCannoN> my plans have been foiled! |

It will currently cost you 100 million ISK+ to buy a Gallente Navy Comet. And this is directly from your agent, not escrow. I think things could use a little tweaking unless they plan on giving the Comet 80% damage resists and the ability to go 3000m/s
-Talk is cheap because supply exceeds demand. |

The 90 mil offers for faction frigs were intended to be "cash-out" offers, where you got a lot of items for few LP but payed through the teeth for them so you could empty your LP getting something you wanted before moving on to a better agent. The more normal offers cost more LP and have much reduced ISK costs, problem is they are very rare and LP itself has a higher value than the costs are balanced for. . ----- Apologies for any rambling that may have just occurred.

No it isn't, must been someone who wanted to get it of his hands, because the only way to get them is thru agent offers (while the pirate once can be got from complexes which resuluts in a much lower price).
And the offers are currently a few like 10k lp + 90m cash, or 75k lp + tags etc. No way that will make a 8m price.
Looking at escrow now and see 2 for sale, one for 70m and one for 100m. Looking at sell orders forum very few are interested in buying them so they don't even meet min bid (because they are not worth it), and the last auction which resulted in a sale was one that started at 1 isk and ended at 40m.
