The best loot I've found so far was in a lvl 2 mission also.
I found a local hull expander.

From my favourite mission, the lvl2 Gone beserk.. Muon Bolt array or something (14m bcu) 2 faction +2 implants 4000 small dg hybrid (done this a few times mind)
from lvl3's... named cruiser gear. no dg. ever. no implants. zip.
lvl4's (not done many) named heavy nos, 3 limos siege, a few named (not best) xl boosters, a few lrg named rails, again, nothing special. mostly pre missile nerf mind.

Is that the one worth 40 mil? I found a muon something on a level 2 mission worth that much. Current bank account is 42 mil, so I'm very fortunate for that

No, because a friend and I just got the 40 mil one on Gone Beserk, and that's the Multiphasic Bolt Array I

My all time finds have to be:
1 x Arbalest Heavy Launcher 2 x +3 intelligence implants (different missions, can't remember if they were both lvl 2 or 3)

Here here on the lvl2 Gone Beserk.
I had just done a storyline to finish the previous evening, and combined with connections2 I upgraded to a lvl2 +7 command agent. The first mission was Gone Beserk.
Nothing difficult as I am in a Caracal, and I know to hit the Kestrels first. After three waves, moved in for the cans. The closest was off of the "boss" Kestrel.
5 items including the Moun Bolt BCS and a Tech2 Low grade Crystal implant (+2 mem, 2% shield boost, set bonus if you get them all).
I am extremely happy with the new agent .

I've had two beta hulls, a local hull, two arbalest siege from loot drops before.
Not bad if you ask me. Their rarity makes it a good thing imo.
ARBALEST SIEGE FROM A LVL 2 MISSION???
Correct. Dropped from a 30k or so Gurista's cruiser.. --------

man, the best stuff I get is only the named tech1 stuff. I've NEVER gotten a faction module or tech 2 implant. Are the loot tables affected by system security level? I just went from a level 4 agent in a .4 system to a level 4 agent in a .9 - my rewards and lp have dropped but I haven't seen a significant difference in loot...

Taco, you have to kill commander mobs.
Look at the rat charts, and search for the commander rats.
These special rats fly tech II ships, have better abilities, and drop faction loot.
Example, yesterday I did a L3 faction mission in .4 to slay Jemai someone or other. I popped the rat and there was a shiney domination faction rocket launcher!
So where can you find these rats? Two ways.
One is certain mission have them coded into the mission, like that L3 mission I just mentioned. So just cycle through missions fast until you get to them.
The easier way is to belt hunt. What you are doing in low sec is farming all the belts until a faction rat commander spawns to lead the rats to victory. Just be ready to pop him and take his true sansha this or that or dread gurista this or that.
Centering your game on commander rats is risky. You have to live in low sec, and the rewards are really crummy.
Example: L4 missions--3 mil per mission times 10 missions.
Example: belt rats for commander spawns--250000 a spawn for nine spawns then 50-100 mil for the last one when the commander drops faction loot.
The key is to really stick it out and play the odds. You will spend hours killing crap rats for the hope of a commander rat and THEN the rat drops 1000 dread gurista iron ammo. Don't quit! The next rat might drop a dread gurista shield boost amp for 100 mil ISK and you made back all your money while your poor corp mate is slaving over L4 missions thinking life is good because he got a crummy malkuth seige launcher! |

I'm a newer player. When I did the tutorial and subsequent 8 agent missions, I received an implant at the end of the last agent mission worth 19 million. Obviously, this was a major boost for me as far as being able to purchase a frigate and then a cruiser.
Strangely, after I made a new character for combat only, I did the same thing, and the implant I received was only worth 64,000, and that was above market value.

have to agree I've got some interesting loot from lvl 2 drops, nothing amazing but a nice steady supply of named equipment and implants from storyline, I prefer them to lvl 3 atm, take no time to do also agent quality is great so the rewards are similar isk wise to my bad quality level 3 agent.

Edited by: Flower on 14/10/2005 12:53:40 It may of been a Lvl 3 mission but I am fairly certain it was lvl 2 as it was over a month ago,
1 Run BPO Ashimmu, 9 mill to produce, 160 mill to sell.
Lvl 2 drops are better than lvl 3 drops, but lvl 3 rats pay better, and there are more of them.

Edited by: Sabahl on 14/10/2005 16:36:36 Well...doing missions for my level seven agent I once had the entire Archangels faction appear in a nineteen stage complex. After calling in the entirety of The Five, Stain Alliance, Red Alliance, The Washington Redskins and the cast of "Friends" we spent two weeks clearing the area of all spawns.
Once the dust had settled we checked out the fifteen thousand cans that had dropped and found the following...
300 Local Hull Cargo Expanders 25 Domiantion Webbifiers 2 Amarr Control Towers 7 Leviathan BPCs TomB's corpse The Yulai solar system A rather annoyed ferret called Simon
We sold Simon the Ferret on escrow (slave trading ferrets is fun) and split the cash. With my share I bought a new galaxy called "Adam". Been playing there ever since.
...and you tell that to kids today an' they won't believe you!

Yes I have found 8 DG spawns spread over 2 systems (both right next toeach other) 6 of em mind you droped nothing cool but 1 droped a DG BCU and 1 dropped a DG warp scram.
Forgive me i don't give out the locations. both 0.4 systems and I found a shadow serpatis kentic passive a long time ago in a 0.4.

For me the lev 2s give a greater variety of loot and rewarsd when compared to a lev 3 The rule seems to be - the higher ther bounty ... the less reward from the loot. Bonus items also seem to be more Isk based after you have trained negotiation... as my Alt is always getting components / items etc from the same agent - and he has no negotiation skill trained. yet my main always gets isk :(
Any way just an observation

My best luck at getting good drops for Level 2 security missions is a mission called "Silence the Informant."
This mission usually generates 500k isk from kills and loot melting anyway(w0000T!!), but occasionally drops very nice things. I have received an "Arbalest" Standard launcher (wtf??SWEET) and an "Arbalest" Assault Launcher (tight :P).
But your 75-80 million isk drops have me quite jealous atm :))

Its a dread Guristas Destructor (95k bounty) not despoiler in the gone beserk l2 mission.
I have had the following from that mission, a worm BPC, LG crystal Alpha, beta and Omega and a DG shield boost amp and I also got an LG halo Beta form an Amarr version og Gone beserk.
Since I moved to upto l3's and 4's not had another anywhere near as good.

I also had a lucky find on my first day.
I found a Partial Hull Cargo Expander in a can from a rat I had killed.
Someone in the corp offered to buy it for 1 million ISK......i later sold it on the market for 10 million :)

I've just moved on to the level 2 missions with my first (very low quality, -18) security agent and find I am making way more in bounties and loot than I ever did in missions. Found a few named items but I kept them, I think their better invested on my poor stabber than on the market for now. Any Minmatar missions I should be watching out for for major ISK? Trashed lots of Despoilers and normally only find ammo or t1 guns...

Any agent of the appropriate level and faction can give out this mission, and the dread (commander) spawn is a rare occurence, although configured to be slightly higher in low secure space.
