So I have done a few of them. The first one handed me an implant, nice, but it seems every first referred agent does that. The others seemed no different than other missions: fullfill a mission, get paid, do it quickly, get a bonus. Nothing extraordinary. I have searched the fora on similar subjects, but found not an answer I'm looking for: is there something special about these storyline agents, aside the fact that every now and then you could get a special goodie? Is there a STORYLINE to these missions? A hidden Holy Grail quest or something similar?

I've been told that the storyline of the entire Eve Universe is player-driven. That being, the more of these quests you do, the more likely an incident is to actually 'happen' in the real storyline. But I don't know for sure - could anyone verify it?
In addition, your faction supposedly gets a major hit one way or the other (including the 'othersidehatesyou' way) whenever you do storyline missions. ________________________________________________ Everyone has the right to be ignorant, if they should so choose. But they should at least be given the choice. |

Storyline missions are primarily for faction standing.
The true story of EVE is entirely player-driven, so they don't actually have anything to do with a story. -- Proud member of the [23].

From my observation, they're the only way to get increases to main faction standings. Caldari State, ect..
I accidentally rejected one and am kicking myself for it because I think I'm ready for a l2 agent but none of them will talk to me because my standing with the Navy isn't high enough yet.

You can also raise your positive standings by training the Connections Skill. You'll need Social III first, but Connections can really help you get to level II, and even III, agents quickly. -- Lil Miner |

As it's been said, they're for raising your standings with the State and Corporation the agent belongs to. It used to be that every agent would offer an "important" mission every 10-15 missions or so, but that got taken out I think, and replaced with this system where you're referred to a "storyline agent" who contacts you via mail for missions.
EVE missions are all bland because the devs don't have the manpower/time to hand-craft MORE missions and other PvE content.

Pity. A single mission I don't consider a storyline. A string of mission with some story, like the first one, that's a storyline.

There is a few that have the same quality as the first set. Angel/Guristas Strike is a good example, 10 linked missions. And you get a very good reward at the end.

One major down side to agent storyline missions I have found, is that if you have a low sec status, and are running missions in low sec space, you get the usual eve mail saying that we need your help. Guess what It's in high sec (where I cant travel), so I have to refuse the storylne.
