Agreed!
Good food and drinks (the ones without caffine ) help as well.

IMO this is what seperates eve from all the other MMORPGs. No other game can cause that adrenaline rush within me. CS - you die and respawn - big deal eh?. WOW - same deal. Here you catually can loose something wich is what causes this adrenaline rush i think. It matters if you die or not.

Originally by: Juniper Mae Ok, I am new to EVE and starting out as a pirate. I just made my first sucsesful kill, a Megathron Battleship with my Thorax. Although he was mining his cruise missiles and heavy drones made it a pretty close fight.
My problem was I was SHAKING LIKE MAD throughout the whole thing. From the second I scrambled him my heart started racing. I tried to ransom him but I PSYSICALLY almost couldn't open a convo with my victim.
This is the fourth or fifth time i've attacked someone and its happened everytime now - even resulting in the other person getting away because in my frantic behaviour I accidentally forgot to switch my MWD off, or put a repairer on.
Is it this bad for anyone else? I must be the worst PvP'er out there.. I sure hope it goes away over time.
every game i've ever pvp'd in, from ancient text based mudds to this, it's always the same. non-pvp'ers just cannot understand the draw pvp has.

I had this rush also when i first killed someone. I was attacked in a .3 system and killed the chap. Love the feeling and since then i have concentrated on PVP. I love the whole aspect of the fighting in EVE as it has alot to do with strategy as well, and not just aim and shoot. At the moment im at war , i have my own single man corp( yes just me ), and i enjoy the me v's 103 members of a corp. Not great odds , but when you get the corp members on their own away from the group its great fun to know you can cost them a bit of loss.If i come up against 8-10 of them in a group however then thats not so good, so i try and learn from mistakes, (which i have made many !!) and love the game. Best of all is a great fight even if you loose and the other player , or group accept the PVP as it should be, and speak after. This does make me believe that not all the PVP's are nasty , they are really quite good fun people.I just wish more people understand this and have fun. The corp im at war against at the moment are good like this and have killed me and ive killed them , but still i do like the mutual respect after a fight . I think people are missing a whole area of gameplay if they do not have some real PVP expierience of EVE.

My first time out, I spazed out completely and to top it off the batteries in my cordless mouse died.
When I'm in a fleet these days, it's not so bad. I can't explain it but for some reason in a BS slug-fest I'll get excited and a bit nervous but I tend to swallow it down and focus quite well. Same thing in my Harpy. I'll charge damn near anything in that ship.
Recently, tho, I would get into a Crow or a Raptor and turn to a Jellyfish.
I don't get it. For months, all I flew was an Inty. I used to love the thrill and mobility.
Finally, during the ASCN war, I was cured when I went one on one with a Rifter in my Raptor. I was just hopping from gate to gate and the guy would not leave me alone. So I turn to engage and suddenly my mind was like, OMG OMG OMG OMG!!! *heart pounding out of chest* OMG, I'M GONNA DIE!!
The Rifter exploded and I'm at 50% shields.
*pause*
Yeah! That's right! You shoulda known better, chump!
*Twenty ASCN jump into local*
"Eeeek!"
Either you'll get control of it or it will forever control you. -
We're outnumbered! That simplifies the problem! |

PKing in pre-trammel UO on a 7xGM statloss red... *that* was adrenaline.
Try it - get your main char pod killed, then buy replacement clone with only 66% of ur current SP, get in the most expensive ship you own will all you best mods, and hit space and go pirating (hint; unexpected random lag will improve the rush)
Sadly there is no UO like that anymore, but EVE is the next best thing =)

hmm I wonder if there needs to be a warning in eve for people with heart conditions.

PvPing is still calm and relaxed compared to playing the fifth and deciding map in the final of ClanBase EuroCUP in Unreal Tournament (or some similar event in a similar shooter). And whats worse, getting the shakes in a shooter is really bad for the aiming
The few PvP encounters I have had in EVE is nothing in comparison. But maybe I am just used to that kind of excitement infront of the computer.

im glad im not theonly one.
when i first started PVPing i had teh rush and teh skaes and the red face and the shaky voice...
now im more calm.
I have the standard rush from stress. the fight or flight response but its toned down, unless I really get worked up.
I find nothing better than a quick gank to get me over my horrible jib

everyone gets the pvp shakes when they first start. I still do occasionally, just before a big fleet battle, or while leading a fleet op. you get over it with time mate, no worries. bawk!

Thats what makes this game good, if you didnt have that reaction to it then it would get really boring really quick.
It took me a few months to control it, but thats because i started getting more and more daring. Solo PVP is the best way to get that rush back, Its either you or him (and his mates if he has any) Its quite a cool feeling.
