Agreed.
The missile skills and specialisation were needed, but the missile changes, in particular the calculations used in them were bad imo. I would go as far to they were too heavy handed.
Tbh i'm too damn far down the missile skill tree to just stop and spend the next 6 months specialising in turret ships, i'm just gonna say nothing and wait and see if things get better.
Till now ive said very little on the missile changes, all I will say to those that are quick to shoot posters down that make caldari/missile threads is - get a raven, fly it instead of your apoc/temp/mega for a month then post your opinion.
Aye. My Raven gathering dust now. More and more of my L4 missions are being done in an Armaggedon. A Tier 1 Battleship! In some missions, like the L4 Mordu Headhunters, a Deimos would do it better than a Raven.
I felt that a lot of my missile training is wasted at least on the high end. With a Ferox on Level 3 missions, the effects is not as felt since heavy missiles are matched to the sig radius of cruisers and only one notch up from frigates instead of two. In fact, even as damage against frigates is reduced, heavy missiles from my Ferox fires at rates more rapid than before, flies much faster and at longer ranges, making the ship overall more effective post patch once you weigh the balances.
It seems as the lower you go, the nerf effect is reduced and the boost effects become more pronounced. On Caldari interceptors like the Crow, the sig radius changes makes no difference with a small standard missile, but all the other missile skills actually boosted the ship. The ROF is higher, flight time is faster, range is longer. The nerf is the increase of power grid on the launchers which is countered by advanced weapons upgrade skills.
