I too cannot log in. I get to the character selection screen and then it just goes to a black screen that times out with "socket closed" Also, As of about 5am (Central) I have been unable to ping eve-online.
I see that the eve subnet is not longer being advertised by CCP BGP AS anymore. It is now advertised by verisign. :( |

What does that mean for a user like me?
Nothing really. Simply that it is a change and before that change I was able to log in without any problems. If it is CCP's intent to reroute through Verisign then the decision to change paths is not in itself a problem, but it is obviously broken in some form since some of us are unable to log in. |

Way to screw up before leaving for the weekend.
Looks back to normal. Eve's IP subnet is now being advertised from the CCP network again instead of from Verisign and trace-routes confirm.

This problem was fixed until downtime on 3-6-2014 at which point routing of the EVE subnet was once again preferred through the Verisign network. Every time they reroute Eve through Verisign we have these horrible connection problems to anything within the Eve subnet. It took me 4 tries to reply to this thread and 3 tries logging in to Eve.
CCP, Please stop routing us through VERISIGN.

Just remember, CCP did this crap last weekend and so long as the route to CCP went through Verisign, we have these connectivity problems. As soon as CCP reverted the routing back to normal, the problems went away until they put it back through Verisign.
Do not fall for CCP's "Contact your ISP" BS. CCP made a change to BREAK it, CCP made a change to FIX it (last weekend), and now CCP has made the same change to break it yet again. |

And I bet we're all fixed again since CCP isn't sending us through Verisign anymore. So apparently they're screwing up our game just on the weekends. If CCP is fkin up our game time just for the New Eden Open this is a new low, even for CCP. |

Can people have a look at this thread and see if they meet the conditions in it? Try it out - could fix your issues.
Seriously? I'm on Cable modem, not DSL. Also, I ONLY experience a crappy connection to Eve when CCP routes their subnet through Verisign. Every time you do this I experience delays to Eve services (forums etc), authentication in the launcher, and socket closed in the Eve Client. However, as soon as CCP normalizes routing, all of those problems go away.
So please, stop redirecting the blame and stop rerouting through the crappy Verisign network and I'll be happy. |

Well I woke up this morning wanting to play Eve, tried to log in but the authentication through the launcher is not working for me. So, tried to log in through the Eve Client and it's extremely slow.
I checked my trace route and oh look, no surprise, CCP is routing us through the crappy Verisign network again.
CCP PLEASE STOP REROUTING US THROUGH VERISIGN AS IT CAUSES PROBLEMS |

And to no surprise, all of my Eve connectivity problems are gone now that we're not routed through Verisign anymore. Damn CCP and their re-route for the tournament. |
