In a nutshell this idea sucks. why?
it really will kill the gap between new and old plaers, uptill a month ago id never fitted any implant other than the odd hardwireing. why? cos i pvp a lot - thus i get podded. im not rich tho my corp is, but id never ask them for the isk for a full set of +4s, as its a total waste. in 2 weeks they would be gone.
now, rebirth lets me go mine for a week or 2 and *poof* not only do i have a full set of +4 imps i will NEVER lose them. yay for the death penalty getting the nerf bat.
not only that but eve will shrink to the size of a pea, with "clone blobbing" becoming the new big thing. rod has pointed out - as have others THIS CHANGE WILL KILL ANY CHANCE OF ANYONE GETTING A FOOTHOLD IN 0.0 AGAIN. the only reason you can do it now is player are in set places, you can look on the map and see "alliance X" have left "systerm xxxx" empty, so you can sneak in via the backdoor. stick up a pos and what have you. and wait for the fun to start. now all it will take for regional defence is a single alt. "hey guys we got 15 nbsi guys here in blah blah blah, jump on in" *poof* 40 evol turn up in the sys within 5 mins and wtfpwn us.
now hows that diffrent to now you all ask, after all they could have clone jumped back to us anyhow. well for a start all 40 of those evol guys where in diffrent systerms. within 5 mins of 1 post from 1 guy, 40 evol pvp'ers turn up in bs, wtfpwn our 15 and THEN CLONE JUMP BACK TO WHAT THEY WHERE DOING ANYWAY. region defence becomes a total joke. same with attack, no need for a fleet now as your entire fleet can be nice and safe 70 jumps away and all you need is 1 cov-ops to scout for you.
it also sucks from a sp pov. now ive never been one for the omg ive got 20million sp me = teh win!!1. but if id been able to fit implants and still fight id be a lot better off than i am now.
isk is not gonna stop this, the 0.0 powerhouses will overun anyone with this, its worth paying 40mill a person if you can get your entire allince in 1 sys within 1 minute. thats the sole reason all of 0.0 is not owned by 5/bob etc its too spread out. but if they can insta jump without implant loss. think they will do it?.
to sum up it sucks. yes it would be great for the smaller corps and so on, but for a very small number of players - but the ones that really count, and i dont mean that in a omg im a billion times richer/faster/better than j00 way. this is a godsend.
