Hey my 2 cents now :)
I am all for this as one of my biggest pet peeves is travel time to do anything.
ATM there are pvp operations going up in the north but as a CEO i also have to make sure other projects are being run or help out where i can. I want to pvp up north but i also want to help my younger corp mates get into BS's, or build the alliance more ships, or do some missions where i can get tech 2 etc etc.
I spend the small amount of time i get just chatting to people in stations cause i like to do team stuff and frankly doing 40 jumps makes me wanna pull my hair out.
Yes it makes eve smaller in a sense but trust me, eve is to big for that to realy happen. This is a system that will help the casual players more than the hard core gamers who need to go out side once in awhile and get some vitamin D.
The rapid deployment of fleets wont stuff up pvp it will just change the way it works.
If a pos has a cloning station then an enemy can deploy very close to an enemy's base of operations. That means drednaughts have more use other than offensive region taking. I can guarantee if you laid a pos just outside an allaicne space it wouldn't be there very long at all unless the alliance was crap and couldn't deal with such problems.
The second option is carriers and titans, of which such ships would not go un noticed heading to a new area. Most likely they will need escort.
So with this system i can be a more active within eve in my shorter time frames.
the scenario where i whoosh from place to place instantly is so unrealistic and narrow minded its not even funny. Sure i could go to empire space and back to my own 0.0 space easy enough. But unless i activly deployed a POS with a clone station or sent a titan/carier to another 0.0 region i am not going to be doing raids into a 0.0 space on an active basis. This type of system puts the defending group at the advantage almost allowing unlimited resources to fight with.
Again some will say thats bad but if you died in a fight first of you effectivly are out of the fight and probably realy ****ed, you wanna get back into it but you prolly gotta travel 30+ jumps to get back into, well there that fun gone for the night. If i can clone jump back to the carrier with more frigates as a pvp my pvp time is so much longer and more enjoyable.
so what i can store my implants, whoop de doo, means i dont loose them, means prices might go down. But if i am in battle longer loosing more clones i am also loosing more ships. If instead of lossing 1 ship in a fight and its all over, then i am loosing 4-5 even more ships plus the price of clones. This helps out the small time producer/miner than anyone else. More low ends need to bemined, more low end ships need to be made. I can assure you some alliance will just spend up big on small tech 1 ships/cruisers prior to a fight than build it.
So look outside the square and thing as a whole how it will change and think beyond youself as well.
If the casual player can actually play instead of quiting eve from boredom then its all good. More players is always a good thing and this encourages more players, thats what it boils down to.
