We've read queries for skill queuing. This need come with the incapacity to launch the game because of the "time" OR the situation (at job/office for example).
Here is my idea.
In the player website section, display a subsection were the player can see the skills trained by his/her character and the current progression of the current training. Those web page could allow the player to change/initiate/stop the training of a skill without having to launch the game. |

So people working from offices with computer access should be favored?

Right now people who have the ability to play all day are favored over those who have to work to pay there subscription fee. All he is asking for is the ability to manage skill training and maybe check on sell or buy orders. Not going out and mining. I think its great idea and can't wait for it to be implemented. I agree about the training part. this would be a great idea thats beneficial to those in school or at work. Both could access a PC and via a web gui login and pull a characters info for skills and start training. I vote for this ! ! !

That's right. I don't mean to permit players to play EVE through web pages. I just want to be able to manage my skills using some web pages from the "Player Website" section in eve-online. |

One thing i've though this night : disable this feature in downtime and when player is ingame (in order to avoid possible exploit) |

Those people who play all day should be favored by being able to maximize the time for their characters training skills. After all, in addition to enjoying themselves, they are making the whole game livelier by being active participants.
Our subscription fee gives us access to the game for a month; it does guarantee equality and the same benefits as someone who devotes a lot of time to playing.

Jojin, you are sayin that it's just too bad that some of us have to work for a living!?!? Sorry but it's not my descission that I have to work or go to school. I don't see any good arguments against this idea! How would the game suffer if this were to be implemented!?!? ________________________ Drak Triak |

And rightly so.
If you have the time, play and micrmanage your skills. If you don't have the time, then train long skills and micromanage when you can play.
There is absolutely no need whatsoever to have an online skill-training queue. Games will always favour the ones actually playing it.

I don't suggest skill training queue here (i'm against skill training queue), but web managment, ie. ability to start/stop/change skill training via web page without having to start the eavy EVE client (especially when you have a crappy computer at work ) |

Jojin, that would be true IF in game time had anything whatsoever to do with accrued skill points. This is part of the equation people keep missing.
If I log in once a day and set a skill to train that will take me a long time I will accrue time based skill points at the same rate as someone who is logged in the whole time. The game is ALREADY DESIGNED so that being in game does NOT equal "gets more skill points based on time in game."
And the players in game DO receive some skill points for using their skills, so they do already gain a bonus there, in addition to the very important bonuse of being able to do things like make money.

Those people already are favored and have advantages over those that don't play all day. They have additional time for buying, selling and killing.

What about the people who work and can't access new items included by a patch becuase the server downtime is the same time everyday. In my opinion, the server downtime should change by week, giving players a fair chance at using new items and skill instead of the people who are home when the server comes back up. I remeber something being posted about them moving it an hour bofroe or later to do this, but it should be like 6-8 hours ahead or before.

However, it is very nice to see all my skills.

First of all, i want to give a deep "Thank you" to CCP team to have implemented the first part of this feature.
Now, i'd like to know if the second part of the feature (initiate/stop/cancel skill training through the web) is welcomed by the other players.
Feedback is welcome ! Thank you all ! __________

So is there any development on this? I'd still like to be able to switch skills at work. Just a timeline, or a denial that it won't ever be added.

I too think this as a great adition, nice one CCP! The start/stop/change would be nice, but I'm not holding my breath as it would be quite nasty to implment.
One addition that would be easy and be very usefull, would be to put the skill discription in a hover over box. So I could see what each skill does and its attributes. - Our Ways Are Endless

Can't see the point of being able to manage your skills via a 'web interface' it's not difficult to think, oh, I'm not going to be around for 3 days, so I'll train something which will take 3 days! DOH SIMPLE?
Secondly, there will be a security aspect, as I'd expect the secure site to be base 128bit SSL encrypted, so technically possible to hack.
Imho I'd say no to web based anything - there was a reason for buying the game, wasn't there? ie playing it?
