Please...not Incarna yet again.
As for OP. There is still a small CCP team working on the space barbie part of the game. But we havent heard from them in a long long time. Then again this game is about space ships and not space barbies so not many people care about their barbie. When a WoW player leaves to return to WoW, the avg. IQ of both games rises. Request to CCP: Please patch stupidity out of the game for Winter 2013. Professional Forum Thread locker. |

Talking with the Art Team at Fanfest, they said they were 100% committed to spaceships, DUST, and things like that. Nobody was tasked with anything related to characters, captains quarters, or the like.
I would personally mind a few more options in terms of character creation (female hairstyle options are generally Goth, shaved head, or Princess Leia ), but there will be time for that later. Plenty of other things to do at the moment in-game. 10 Thoraxes, 3 Minutes Star Fraction vs. Band of Brothers

Wasn't that particular kind of Quafe shirt only available to those who went to FanFest 2013?

The Quafe shirts have been made available to both FF attendees and people who bought the stream for the last couple of years (since 2011 at least).
Also, we already have Princess Leia hair. Go to Amarrian space sometime, it's a minor fad. 10 Thoraxes, 3 Minutes Star Fraction vs. Band of Brothers

Team Avatar(CCP karkur, CCP Bayesean, etc.) is officially disbanded and the members have been reassigned to other departments. I believe there have been a couple minor updates since then like this year's Quafe shirt, the Red Star shirt (December), the Plex for resculpt option and the ability to zoom out in the portrait. The last two were also the end of the year so might predate the team disbanding. I wouldn't expect much more than this considering what was (not) mentioned at the recent Fanfest. If anything there might be more of the already "in game" items made available in NEX or faction shops. Then again there were also plans to have apparel items as loot drops last year that didn't happen, so I wouldn't count on it. I'm pretty sure we will see the already designed, but not available items (like the Function Shirt) available before CCP dedicates time to new items, which I don't see happening in the next couple of years. |

I don't care about space barbie...but as I got it from buying the FF HD stream, why not quickly put it on.
Not that I see it because I have CQ disabled...I rather spin ships, much more fun in that. When a WoW player leaves to return to WoW, the avg. IQ of both games rises. Request to CCP: Please patch stupidity out of the game for Winter 2013. Professional Forum Thread locker. |

I'd love more things to wear to give us all more variety in look, instead of almost everyone looking exactly the same. I miss the things we Minmatar used to have...our crappy dirty robes, our awesome spikey hair and mostly our super awesome breathing masks! Amarr got to keep their hoods...we should get our masks back! |

It's good for immersion to have a more unique looking character that you care about. As CCP has said they want eve to be a complete SCI FI exp overall, not just spaceships even though those are the most important and central part of the game. I don't think having a team working on avatar things is such a bad idea unless it would somehow affect work being done on the core game. EVE has one if not THE best character creator I've ever seen, it's a shame to see it so limited when it comes to variety in clothing and accessories. Our old avatars looked very sci-fi ish, our new ones just for the most part have modern looking clothing. Need more sci fi stuff :D Also, would like to see a bunch of race specific things to help distinguish the races from each other like we used to have. They have an amazing art team, I have no doubt they could come up with some amazing looking items. |

Have to disagree on this. EVE is never finished, this universe could become so much more and will have to be to last another 10-20 years. I see it as a real new universe, ever growing, ever expanding. I'd like to pick up dusties with my galactic cruiser and have them board a space station to conquer and control for my alliance. I would like real worlds populated by planet builders, interacting with the capsuleers and producing real goods for the galactic market, managing planet populations and transferring taxes to the alliances/corps that own the star system they are in. The planets would in turn need ores and goods we produce and ship/haul to build their planets. Would bring a different kind of gamer into EVE who would add to the system just like every capsuleer does. They would manage their people and hire dusties/corps to conquer the next planet they want to colonize.
My EVE is so much more then just a game about flying spaceships, it is a mix of games coming together to make a gaming universe unlike anything that has been before. This is the future of gaming and would like EVE on the forefront of it. The concept EVE uses right now (continuous patching, creating dust in the same universe as a side game) is ideally suited and the interaction between them would increase step by step improving the game experience for all. It will take continued investment and more devs ofc, it's a long term plan but the subsciption model can make it happen. Dust needs to come to the PC tho.
Being able to walk and venture into space station could be part of this, with careers for factions in the station, maybe running through the halls with your toon to go man the defenses against an invading force who wants to take control of the stations profits. The game only ends where the devs imagination ends.

I would like to see more clothing and accessory options as well as the ability to pose avatars rather than choosing from a bunch of preset poses.
And hats...why are there no hats in EVE?? Also, the majority of the wardrobe just sucks. I wonder if people don't buy from the NEX not because they don't want clothes, but because they cannot find any clothes they like? Fit a warfare link to your tech 1 battlecruiser. I'd rather they scrapped all that crap and focused their efforts on something that actually matters. Any spare energy they have outside of that should be spent on enriching eve's lore, via chronicles (with artwork), like they used to have.
CCP seem to care more about making a cheap buck than enriching the game world any further. Such a shame. |

CCP READ THIS, IT IS A VERY GOOD IDEA!
Why not let players design the collection and accessories to be sold via LP or AUR? I am sure a lot of people would jump at the opportunity. The community could vote which pieces/collections get added to the store and which not. Even for beginning designers it would stand out on their resume that they designed a whole series of clothing used & voted in by a community of over half a million.
CCP would own the virtual rights and don't have to spend a dime designing them. If pieces would be sold RL on popular demand afterwards a (example) 10% royalty would be payed towards the designer. The station environment (add a promenade) would be the perfect place for selling these RL EVE based clothes. CCP cashes in as they wanted and so does the designer. I sure would consider buying some cool EVE sweaters and T-shirts if I like the design. One could have the clothes produced by a fair trade clothing manufacturer and gain free publicity for CCP and EVE online through the press.
This is the future CCP, freelancers who design without ever being directly employed by a company; Sold online through popular venues and the artists earning royalties for their work. One works from home this way and even helps reduce congestion and CO2 pollution. The time of commuting to work every day is over with... It's simple madness and made obsolete by the internet. We can communicate just as well through video conference as face to face. A win win situation every way I look at it. Reopen the EVE gate so we can invade Serenity. Goons can go first. |

You can pull back your character for your portrait to show most of what you're wearing. More importantly though we should have much more variety in accessories, tats, hair styles and shirts/jackets. Some of it could be shared between races but each race really could use their own unique items as well. The more options we have the more different each of us will look, the more unique we become. Just look back at the old avatars. Each race had it's own unique look, different accessories, hair styles, clothing. Don't get me wrong I absolutely love the new avatar creator...best I have ever seen. But we all lost our uniqueness minus the Amarr who kept a few of their things like Hoods and the metal parts on their heads. We need more of that. Caldari used to have some pretty neat eye piece, Minmatar had accessories that fit their race perfectly, breathing masks, robes, weird hair styles. There is no downside to having these things returned to each race, I would infact think that people would spend more time making them selves look more unique because they would care more about their character. As it is right now...you see to many similar faces. I don't want them to take time away from the work they do on the EVE gameplay, but I miss the old avatars and the sci fi/fantasy feel they used to have. Would love to see updated versions of the old stuff come back. Locked to our races of course...Only Amarr should have hoods, Only Minnies should have the masks, ect...
EVE is always evolving, to say they weren't meant for this game is not true at all. EVE has no limits. It's the best game in the world because of this.
Lastly just wanted to add that the visual items could be a money maker for CCP. While microtransactions usually enrage people...I think this community is smart enough to realize that if they were only for vanity items like clothing that it's not a big deal at all. You don't need to spend real money on it...buy it with is in game. Really has no negative effect on anyone and doesn't alter the game in the process. |

At the moment no-one can see what's below. Creating a 3 dimensional avatar and making it unique is just a first step into a bigger world. You could have a tombraider-genre space adventure game set in the EVE universe, using your own unique EVE-toon. No limits but what we make them.
