not going to happen this is eve-online not earth & beyond. i dont think the engine could handle movements like that, then imagine the friggen size of the game if you were able to move around on planets and inside your ship, then factor in the amount of time it would take to travel around your 1km long bship.

Actually, during an online interview, the devs said that the feature of walking around in space stations and on planets and moons was planned for an expansion pack, to be released in 1-2 years.
In case some of you hadn't noticed, this game is still in Beta. It was released because you can't squeeze money from stone, despite popular rumor. Let them finish the God damn game before you demand a new one. Is that too much to ask?
You money is going towards finishing the game. Sounds like a lot of you just want your game now, now, now! and don't really give a damn about the fact that it takes time to come up with ideas, time to balance ideas, time to write code, time to test code, money to pay for the development staff's wages so they can have food/shelter, money to pay for the massive bandwidth connections to the servers, money to pay for the servers themselves, money to pay for the electricity that runs the servers.
Now, if any one of you thinks you could do better, I'd love to see you go out and do it. I dare you. Until then, stop whining just because the devs aren't making the game revolve around you. Christ. |

I'm talking about those few who are like "why don't u add [feature A]? u guys suck, I pay for this game so u better put it in or else I will just stop paying and so will everyone else"
The game design is meant to make the gameplay revolve around the players.. duh, it's an MMORPG. But the features of the game, the way the game mechanics work, at best, these are designed from player input, but if you take everything that players think will make a good game and actually implimented it, you'd have one God-awful game.
My whole point is that just because you have money in your hand does not mean that your ideas must be put in the game or even should be considered. I'm just sick of people thinking that just because they're waving a handful of money around that they must be heard, and that they can be obnoxious as Hell when they shout out their seemingly "valuable" opinion. |

Actually, i'm very happy with my ship floating in space and with beeeeeauuutiful space stations interiors. The interface is very intuitive (even if i've not seen the right-click on chat-tab to stop blinking -how dumb i am -).
So, i don't feel the need to walk around. If everybody pass their time to walk around, who will be outside in their ship ?. The game need much more players in order to make it interesting.
But i can wait for long before having this features. I think i'll suffered mind lock if a go outside my pod (damn joves ! ) |

to be honest I don't see the need to explore my own ship... would prolly get lost anyway
Planet surface action would be a nice extension of the space cruising, but I can understand the time it takes to implement such a thing properly.
As for station exploring... well I think a few faces added to the different services talking to you would be enough to make the lonely feeling go away.

You cant move around in your ship, since the pilot is suspended in a sensory deprevation tank and directly linked to the ship computer, sensors, and literally every onboard system.
