Spent a couple of hours last night flying round 0.5/0.6 systems around Sobaseki. I can't find a trace of Omber anywhere.
I believe it can spawn in systems with sec status of upto 0.7 so I don't understand why I'm not finding any.
Any tips on finding some?

its wery hard to find omber in caldari space better try galente teritory or ammar for kernite

Yup you should find Omber in 0.5 and 0.6. Its a sought after ore though so the belts you checked had probably been stripped. Try to find a quiet, out of the way 0.5 or 0.6 system that doesn't see many miners. A dead-end system with only one gate is a good place to try. Oh yeah, some ore only spawns in certain regions too so try Verge Vendor.

Thx guys - looks like I need to expand my search a bit.
Just don't want to go too far as then the travelling/hauling become a pain.

You wont find Omber or Kernite particularly close to Caldari space if you are searching in 0.5 or above.
The 0.4 systems in caldari usually have kernite.
The Pirate hideout's may also have omber rather than the asteroid belts, i.e. faurent for example.
Kernite is freeley available in 0.5 space in Amarr region.

Mmmm .... and 5-6 jumps from downtown Caldari. High sec route ...
Omber found in Galente, used to be 6 jumps high sec, now I think its 9-10 jumps. 0.6-0.7 systems.
What? I didn't mention the names of the systems? OPS ...
