Ive been doing lvl 3 missions for a few weeks now and ive done both the Angel and Guristas Extravagansa mission at least 7 times's, i have yet to pick up the tag needed to enter the bonus stage. I have seen them for sale on the market for between 1mil - 1.5mil, but i thought they would have been dropped in the mission itself. I always kill every ship and all structures, yet i have still to pick one up. Has any one else had this problem or is it a bug in these missions. Any help would be greatly appreciated

A bit of advice, avoid the bonus stage. I beleive you get the tags in 0.0 rats, but unless you are with a team mate, the bonus stage can crush you. I personally find all LVL3's resonably easy, and though the bonus angel would be a good way to pass time. How wrong I was....
Only yesterday I found out to my avail. My apoc tank could defend forever, but what go me was the fact that the angel BS MWD'ed to me from 50KM away, and my cap got leeched in seconds. One second I am happly tanking without any problems, the next my cap is drained, resulting in a quick death. If my cap was not leeched, I could have easaly solo'ed it.

Thanks for the advice Lord WarATron , im using my Zealot for the lvl3 missions and find that its overkill tbh, but i would like to try it in the bonus stage to see how i fair, i might just buy a tag and see how it goes, hopefully the loot will make up for the isk spent.

I had the Angel Paladium drop in a .5 belt. Only once however. I was a bit paranoid when I went in so I took all my flatmates with me. BS,BC,Int and two Destroyers. Lots of overkill but no real risk of death :)
That rat BS is _fast_. Scarey to see it coming :)

Palladium tags drop from cruisers in the 75-100k bounty range. One can get them from both belt and mission rats. They're actually quite common drops from level 4 missions.

Other than the challenge, would paying 1-1.5 mill on the market for such a tag be worth the cost. Do you usually get anyting from the bonus stage beyond normal BS bounties/loot? IE faction mods/implants?

You got nothing special from the bonus stage. Only thing of worth is the bounty of the battleship.

IMHO, no.. the total bounties (with bs) will be around 700k-1mil
depends on the bounty of the BS.. it dropped recently, and i think
the raven in there is only 400k now. i may be off... anyone care to
add to this, please do.
i havent done a gurista ganza latetly, only angel.. last 2 (angel) had an 800k
BS.. the angel can spawn either a short range or long range BS
where as the guritsa has only spawned a pith destroyer for me, which is 400k,
iirc.. if a dread pith spawns (i've never had one) then that would be 900k
i've scanned down the gate before when i had no tag (for angel)
and seen a Gist Seraphim, (long range) which is 600k i think. i
however have only done the Gist Domination Commander (800k).
i guess maybe a dread pith as well as a regular pith destroyer
spawns for the gurista ganza as well..
the loot is unremarkabkle 90% of the time in the gurista ganza. in maybe
9 G.ganza's i've done the bs dropped a can twice.. and once it was frig loot,
the other stock BS mods..the angel has dropped all 4 times i've done an angel and dropped only named items twice.. a Lif AB both times..
i do get some named mods sometimes from the cruisers/frigs in there though.
also, if you have the patience of saint..and enough ammo to do 350k HP's of damage,
you can gamble and take out the battle station. 3 out of 7 times i've blown the
station it dropped a 250mm scout, 250mm coil & a 250mm prototype along with its
usual complent of various ammo (loot can spawns 6 to 9 items usually) all other
times it was just ammo and maybe a stock frig mod or modual.. really tho,
its not worth the effort.. i just do it for the boom. 
hunt MOA's in low sec belts or in l4 mission for palladium tags, thats
where i aquire them the most..
and bring nothing but kinetic biased ammo and drones for the raven.. thats
its weak spot.. can be solo'd in a ferox (gunship in my case)
or cyclone. get away from the turrets and kill the
webber first and your golden..
as with all things in eve.. your mileage may vary..

Well i bought a few tags and completed the Guristas Ex. last night. On the bonus stage the BS had a 400k bounty and did'nt drop a can. There was roughly 750k in bountys and the loot was pathetic. There where no bunkers, the only destructable building was a Guristas War Centre, it just seemed to be a waste of isk buying the tags. I wouldnt recommend doing the bonus stage, unless you have tags u want to use up. I will be moving to lvl4 missions in the next day or so. Im gonna keep the tags in case i get the same mission on my next lvl4 agent.

The good thing with guristas ex is that you keep the tag, you can do it over and over and over again with the same tag. As for level 4 I do not know for sure but from what I have heard it requiers another tag, diamond or crystal or something.

Diamond. Palladium only works for lev 3's.
