As per the title,
Does anyone have any gems to share? So far I have read a few pointers;
You need to have 1gb of Ram at least
Having eve installed on two seperate hard drives helps
Is there anything else? Maybe setting buffer size in the ini file?

Have a fast cpu and multiple screens help :)
I would set the buffersize no larger than half your ram. If you allow each eve client to use more ram than half ram it will have to swap when you switch client.

Wouldn't having mutliple screens require mutiple graphics cards? As IIRC DirectX can only support one accelerated display?

I run two eve clients on this machine. Its a P4 1.7Ghz with 512Mb of RAM and a Raedon 9600 Pro. No problems what so ever with both windowed at 1280x960.
As far as showing the both on seperate screens goes, never tried it but AFAIK, it wont work.

i have a 9800 pro and 1 gig ram (333) on a 1.7 amd...
I run my desktop at 2048 X 1536 .. and then run 2 eve accounts at the same time (1024 X 768) and i can see 100% of one and 30% of the other..(i have to scroll my desktop down to see all of the other one... so i can run and use both at the same time (in windowed mode) and so far never crashed once or disconected...if i had more ram and a better processor..i could run 4 accounts at the same time im sure.. (desktop size would fit one in each corner)
also i have a 19" monitor so i think you would have to have that or better... or else things might be a bit to small

I run three eve clients on 1 screen, all 3 in 1024x768, with desktop at 1280x1024 (17" monitor's limit lol). I have an althon 64 4000+ 1gb ECC ram, (too slow, needs replacing) and 2 geforce 6800GT's overclocked a bit. I set the stack size at 256 since eve has yet to grow on my ram over 190mb an instance. Just stack the windows in each corner to keep tabs on them. And ganging helps keep an eye on all the ships if they're in the same area.
The games run fine with on average 40+ fps in the active window, at the least place each eve in a seperate folder, otherwise they can cause errors on occasion.

I run 2 accounts on dual monitors without problems at all ... I have a 2500+ Athlon with 1Gb HyperX DDR400 ram and a GF6800GT ...
The statement that DX cannot accelerate dual screens is wrong to a degree ... if you use Horizontal span as your dual setup DX considers it a single screen with a single buffer and accellerates it accordingly ... this has it's limitations since you only get 1024x768 as a window playable resolution ... all the other ones are disproportionate and off screen ...
The separate instances DO NOT need be on separate harddrives ... in fact you can play multiple instances of the same exe ... it of course does run slightly faster if you run separate installments but it is not a must for people who have space problems ...
I have tried playing 5 accounts at once on this configuration with a 256kbps cable connection and all was working perfectly.
The display code is very well optimized and running 2 eve accounts (same exe) on one window and modeling in Lightwave with Photoshop in the background for textures does not pose a problem for eve ...
