Edited by: PenguinJim on 09/11/2005 13:44:22 I'm a tech 2 BPO owner, I own nothing on the scale of the "big guys" but i do own.
2 x Tech 2 Ships BPO's 2 x Weapon BPO's 4 x Module BPO's
Also i have two of the limited release tech 1 BPO's..
I freely give this information to give people an idea of a smaller tech 2 producers view.
I actually AGREE with the people who say the whole system is BORKED, its absolutly mad... People who say that it should stay the same just dont see the long term damage its doing to the eve world.
Yep I can get rich from tech 2, groovy for me, but bad or eve in general. TECH 2 BPO's are the WORST thing that happened to manufacturing, with the free release of TECH 1 BPO's the second worst thing that ever happened. In both versions of BPO management in Eve, it went from one end of the scale to the other end of the scale. With free release and then totally closed release.
Personally I think a patient system should be used whereby high run BPC's are released and BPO's become high run BPC's. Hereby stopping absolutely mad costs of some items that are, because the skill requirments of many modules / ships are designed for 1 to 3 month old players to be able to use. But cant because the price is too much.
These BPC's should be given out through a real R&D profession, and also via prehaps loot drops of named pirated, and even from Loyalty point offeres from agents. The more ways the better, becuase there are more ways to get these BPC's does not make them easy ways.
While it would hurt me as a tech 2 producer to loose my bpo's it would enable me in the long run to expand my ability to build a wider variety of tech 2 items. The ultra rich could easily buy up loads of bpc's but i doubt hey would because it would not be cost effective.
People who say players should have to work for years just like they have to be able to do the things they do, will kill this game. EvE survives on new people joining, but at the moment the people who join are becoming further and further away for being able to participate in all the eve professions that they want.
Doing this helps everybody, it increased manufacturing, helps POS, Helps PVP and makes eve what it should be...
EvE is becoming too ELITEST, and i'd prefer it to become the biggest and baddest MMORG game in the world.
