change the skill training on inactive accounts and unpaid accounts all skill training automatically stops - as ive suggested previously limit any skill queueing to 24 hours past when youre last one finishes ie nominate 1 skill that can be trained as a reserve for 24 hours past when youre last one runs out and u havente logged in. It will train for 24 hours and then stop (will be targetted at extended downtimes etc) and limits and possibility of abuse etc

The really interesting thing about 'skill queuing' is that it does seem to be a very popular idea with the players - yet CCP won't consider it. On the other side of the world though, since Asian players 'demand' the ability to buy and sell ingame items, CCP will consider allowing this to appease them.
Maybe it's just about the money, and we need to offer them a couple of dollars extra a month to make this available? You have to admit that a backup skill that trains if your primary skill finishes would also help CCP when hell breaks loose on the servers......

the 24 hour overspill sounds like the best idea i guess its non core for CCP they have already made their perceptions known on the matter and thats it.

..just a little reflection..
the mad influx of macro miners has helped kill low end mins. i have several groups rotate through my system dumping millions of 0.6 sec minerals at or below regional avg. supply is exceeding demand big time. this coupled with a huge influx of noob miners is driving prices down.
i'm a solo player mostly and reside in a noob corp(1yr9mo+). up until about 3-4 months ago.. we never really went above 150-180 in corp chat. now, during the day and into the evening it hovers at about 320. i don't think i've seen it drop below 220 since this started either..
95% of my ore buy orders are filled either by a noob in a frig, or are typically approximate to 1 badger or 1 badger2 full of ore. -again indicators they are being filled by new players.
i also know of allot of noobs perfectly content to sit in a hauler and mine semi-afk while they wait for their learning skills to get up to an "acceptable" level.
there are also n00b mining ops of 5-7 players that go after kern and low sec zyd bearing ores several times a week.
i'd bet good isk this is happening allot in other "non war" schools as well.
most of the guys who are into missions/killing stuff have no patience to sell rats drops on market. i'd say 75-80% recycle the loot and sell the mins for a quick "isk fix"
i'm relatively active in my corp chat and know all this by direct communication and observation of the players in my corp. -as well on occasion joining them on various ops.
anyway, some food for thought as to the "why" in dropping mineral prices.
-oh, and i agree with OP about the proposed building changes. i'm a producer and the que/minerals up front will really mess up the way i do my building. esp when i start a batch without all the required mins because either mins are enroute, or i'm adding to the batch throughout the day from mission loot.
this esp hurts me when i start a build of say 4-6 BC's with only 1-2 mins worth. i usually go wander off 20-30 jumps away to do some hunting because i have mineral deliveries being escrowed from clients which i can then accept remotely to add to the batch. -really gonna cramp my style. ::sigh::
i really dislike the proposed changes.

They won't even respond to the question let alone address it.
This thread is now over a month old. PLENTY of time for a dev to respond. Grrrr! ---

Log in once, set 3 month skill queue and come back in 3 months. Sell character for ISK.
****, they have MACROS foor mining, and they can't be intercepted, wtf makes it so hard to make one for skill trainig? I would be VERY surprised if there aren't some already.

Exactly! The lack of a skill queue only hurts the honest players. ---

You act like they were supposed to answer this... You asked two questions that have allready been answered by them:
1) The new production system is comming. (Read the dev blog that announced this. It was not something that was up for discussion. It was info on what they were doing, like it or not.)
2) Skill que's: Wont happen. (This was answered in one of the old dev chats. No I cba to find it. Just trust 1000 old players telling you so...)
WTF should they waste time answering two questions they have allready answered when they have a new major patch in a short while? Get a clue... --- "Why can't we all just get along?" |

Get a clue? It would be nice if a little of that went around. When the same question gets asked OVER AND OVER AND OVER then just maybe one of them should GET OFF THERE REAR AND ANSWER THE QUESTION!!! If the timing is poor for them, then perhaps they shouldn't have waited so long in responding.
If it is so set in stone but they don't want to repeatedly address such a popular question, then PUT IT IN A FAQ!

Another question is, will it be possible to manage the skills using a web browser. Currently we can only check the training of the character online. But can not start or chance skills online with a web brawser. I have seen a note about EVE being playable in a PDA. But I want not to be forced to get a PDA, just for being able to manage my skills.

Yeah, they probably SHOULD put it in the FAQ. But the devs and ISD have gotten off there reer and ansered the question (skill que) MANY times, so dont say they havent, ok?
As for the next guy talking about training via the web interface, that has ALSO been covered many times, and, NO, wont happen either. --- "Why can't we all just get along?" |

I have an idea! Let's ask a question that everyone has responded to in the negative, keep asking and start demanding a dev respond! Let's get agitated! It's been three weeks! It's been five years!
I suggest you either take some Patience Pills or just accept the fact that CCP has structured EVE so you log in to change a skill.. Automation leads to more abuse than it's worth.
