I am interesting in finding out what corps and alliances put in their rules.
For example normaly for like mission/mining corps theres no written rules its just what your CEO/Co-CEO and directors say the rules are and what the corp believes. However, for a massive PVP corp there would be rules which members can look at if they are at a loss on what action or who to contact about issues.
I want to read some corps/alliances rules, the rules which are written on a document and are looked at when ever their is a question which no one can answer or if there are questions about. For a stupid and random example which happens a lot a question as common as "what steps or action is taken in resolving a personal attack on a member"...do they get a warning ? do they get kicked ? does management (HR) have a talk with them to see if both pilots can get along ? - this is normally an unwritten rules and quicky dealt with but its normaly outlined in the rules of an alliance.
Or is it all completey based on what leaders and their directors say and goes in every corp/alliance ?
I want to get an in sight into the structure and regulations of small, medium and large corps/alliance affecting their every day operation/decisions making/game play.
If you could share/ provide a copy of your corp or alliance page(s) of rules and regulation that would be great to read - if you are allow to.
Don't troll or take the ****, just a pilot looking for guidance Any troll or **** take posts will be seen as free bumps :) |

We require an incident report or form detailing unintentional damage to be filed within 2 hours of any incident to our HR department, Alliance Diplomats and the coalition adjudication team. These forms can be downloaded from our forum with appropriate credentials and a manager's signature. For any problems accessing the forms, a form must be filed with our IT department. Once received, they will be reviewed with each team manager with 24 hours. If you're interested in the process from there, please file the form requesting access to our employee handbook. It's pretty long though, so we recommend 3-5 weeks to read it all. www.minerbumping.com - because your tears are delicious |

As an invite only we have around 12 directors sitting and working to find the best direction for our corp what to fight against how to make money... the key isn't rules in my experience the key is only having corp members you trust. Like a guy you will give a 20 mill reward transferring your faction fit ships in a courier contract with 0 collateral. The trust that you know they will fire on the primary over anything else. |

I used to run a null-sec oriented corp and basically we had a set of recommendations and a set of rules:
Recommended: - be on comms (easy to think this should be a rule but hard to enforce especially as the corp gets larger) - have a least one PVP capabable player deployed to wherever the corp is deployed at all times
Rules: - RL comes first - if you're online when a CTA is called then you are in fleet. If you can't be in fleet, log off or play on an out-of-corp alt - for practical reasons we communicate in English - for obvious reasons you need headphones, a mic and the comms software we use
That was it. For the rest we didn't restrict HOW people played the game aside from the rule about CTA's. We also asked corp members on a regular basis for feedback about corp direction and how we could create content for them to play the game in a way they found satisfying. My opinon was (is) that it's much easier to lead people when they tell you wehre they want to go....
As for how members got along. We had the odd "ooh... i'm sooo leet" ego-tripper and the odd "the rules don't apply to me and i'll make excuses for why I"m running a missions during CTA's" type. The ego-trippers were always my main concern because their constant criticisms of newbie players who were trying to learn the ropes was demoralizing and actually *lengthend" learning curves by making people afraid to experiment or talk about their mistakes. The problem with ego-trippers is that they usually became worse as their PVP skill improved and often went from being valuable members of the team to becoming a constant irritation. It took a lot of energy to have to deal with the worst cases in a way that didn't cause drama but stopped them from hampering the development of younger players. This was one of the big things I didn't like about running a corp.
All in all, we only had to ever kick one person out of corp (due to good work on the part of recruiters) because of his behaviour. I take that as a major success given that corp ran for 6 years (if it wasn't more), averaged around 60 members and peaked at about 100. There's a lot to be said for putting the time into building a tight team that sort of "self selects" newer members. It never took long for new recruits to be sure that they would fit in or be sure that they wouldn't....
The current corp i'm in (I'm just a grunt) is purely PVP oriented. Their rules are much more to the point
- be active - deploy where corp is deployed - kill ****
They make no pretense about wanting to be any kind of general purpose corp for all kinds of players. If you like PVP you'll do fine. If you like to do other stuff, play on out-of-corp alts.
That's another way, I guess. They do have a lot of focus, which is strong point and really appeals to me. YYMV. |
