Caldari ships look awesome, the only true freaking stupid one is the Griffin, that thing just looks retarded.

Well, IÆm glad the different races have varying ship styles, and I think CCP did a good job of making the four styles reflect their parent races. I can also see where they incorporated a lot of archetypes form films and illustrations while still injecting some novelty. That being said, I think most ships could look a little better and could be more logically designed. Of course thatÆs just my opinion; aesthetics is a sticky wicket.
Anyway, to the OP, just be happy you donÆt fly Min. I donÆt get them so much; the whole patched together from scraps look doesnÆt really jive with the fact that they are mass produced in shipyards from standard parts. I flew a Scythe for a while; man that thing was fuglyàI mean whatÆs with the witchÆs hat thing on top?

I think There are enough ships in EVE to find some you like. Personally I like the variety otherwise it'd be like going to buy a car where they all look the same and the preformance is barely different, just a question of price. Then you'd have people whining that there aren't any imaginitive designs and "how come CCP can't design ships that look different? It's so boring to see a bunch of ships that all look similar like a car show or some thing!"
And I fly a Raven because it ooozes sexual magnetism, and fires 6 cruise :)

Armageddon has horribly, horribly messed up textures, though... i know people complain about Apocalypse, but Armageddon is like, 10x worse in that regards. Have no idea how it even got to QC, much less in the actual game :/

Caldari ships are awesome (besides the Griffin) and the Hawk is probably the best looking ship in the game (with TII guns that perfectly match the color scheme).
The designers did an incredible job with all the 4 races who all have a unique look.

Ship designs for the most part are awesome. I'm more interested in CCP fixing a couple of the textures. Ever look at an Exequror? I mean, REALLY look at it? The texture looks like it was placed on wrong or something. From far away it looks pretty nice at least.
I think if people get the chance to customize colors and decals and other little things that they'll like the bulk of the designs more.

Only the Caracal looks stupid imo. Whats with the long ***** like structure sticking out of the front of it?
Ferox looks damn nice, but I have to say the cormorant looks the coolest :D I love the kessie too. :) Thought it looked ugly first, but it's grown on me :)

Some of the newer Minnie ships look pretty neat i.e. Cyclone and Thrasher. Unfortunately the BS's look shocking, they might be powerful but i'm going to end up learning either Gallente or Amarr BS just so I don't get eyestrain. Yes, utility might be important, but if I have to look at it all the time i'm flying it has to look good too.. sort of a psychological thing..
As for the Raven, the last time I saw something like that was this weekend driving.. it bounced off my car window and landed feet up in the middle of the road..ugh..

caldari ships are generally of lesser quality in my opinion. People often refer to them as "bricks in space" because they are so boxy.
Boxy can be great, but to me it almost seems like they lack polygons.
Like they are all used up in the smooth corners or something. Usually good textures can make up for lack of polygons (shadows on the texture) but caldari ships like the raven just look freakin wierd because they look like they are made out of big legos.
Its hard to describe how i feel about them =P
Small caldari ships are fine though : ) in my opinion of course
And to the people who like to compare this to REAL LIFE.. wow.. engines should be the least of your problems. In fact.. we need engines in front of our ships too. CCP could make up a reason why we cant go past a certain velocity.. but it would be cool imo to see thrusters to turn/stop.
If anyone has played Nexus.. god i would kill for its physics (at least how they show the engines) freaking awsome. i would play eve and WATCH IT.

I love the Kestrel. The Condor is also cool. The Merlin is also pretty.
It is also very symmetrical, for those who favor symmetry.
You could also decide to get Amarr Ships.
But I absolutely cannot stand Gallente Frigates. I even prefer Minnies over them, and I also think Minnies have some nice ship designs! (Stabber, Rifter)
It is just a matter of taste. And I really love the very different and unique looks that TRUE artists have given the various ship designs.

I love all caldari ships, with an exception of few, Griffin, Moa, and Phoenix.
Pheonix would look fine if they added somthing on the front but its just...FLAT

Every race has good looking ships, but allso bad looking ones. Caladari just happen to get the 2 worst looking ships and very few beautiful ships.

Geddon looks nice, aye, it's just there's all kinds of technical glitches in the texture coordinates ^^;; like, the right 'wing' structure that's base for turrets is textured properly, but the same structure on the left side has the coordinates off, and so it gets large dark spot right in front of it... stuff like that all over the ship :<

Yep. Some people actually eat rotten fish and think it's tasty.
And there are no beautiful Caldari ships, really. No matter your taste they cannot be described as beautiful. Cool, yes. Awe inspiring, yes. A gun is never beautiful, but it often has an air of danger that many people subscribe to.
Gargoyles on cathedrals weren't put there because they were beautiful, yet they fit in and people like them there. Beauty is a form of norm, and there are very few EVE ships that confirm to this norm. For example one of the things that make beauty is symetry. People with symetrical faces are often said to be beautiful.
