Pehaps thats my point?
Do u see now?

If you're driving down the street and someone asks to hitch-hike a ride, do you allow them on? Or are you afraid they'll hijack the car and hold you for ransom? Now apply that to EVE and you get the same situation.

Just to cause some trouble here, potentially giving bad guys better tools for their trade...
I know it gives you a pop-up message when you join a gang that has a member in it that is at war. My question is, does it pop up the same message if you join a gang with no at-war members, but then an at-war member joins after you?
If not, why not make this 'scam' have three corps involved.. one neutral corp with no wars to originally request the help, then once enough suckers...er.. I mean.. players.. are recruited to help, invite at-war player number 1 and head to the mission.. then swarm with players from the other warring corp, taking out the helpers one by one. (or letting them take themselves out with Concord's help, whatever)

Its easy to trick someone into accepting your gang invite.

i'm not disagreeing with that but u still have the choice to accept or not. if u accept any invite from someone u dont know then u cant blame the game if its a trap.

If people fall for that, then I clearly made a bad decision not going to the dark side.

I have a nice scenario. Corp A is at war with Corp B. Corp A has a friend in a support ship. The support ship chooses not to gang with Corp A however he still remote repairs the member of corp A.
Corp B now has to deal with a highly tanked and remote repaired ship, and cannot fire on the support ship, as he is not in the gang.
The whole gang setup, with all these rules is awfully confusing, and has more openings than a 2 dollar hooker. It needs a serious rework, with some strong explanations in-game, about the setup of the system. ------------------------------------------ Dreadnought Production INC is recruiting Join DPI Channel Or Visit (IGB) http://www.mmorpg-online.net/intro.html |

Just some happy education on the concept of warnings.
If you WARNING WORLD IS ABOUT TO END IN BIG FLASHING NEON LIGHTS!!!!! everytime someone blows their nose, real warnings have a tendance to get lost in the WARNING WORLD IS ABOUT TO END IN BIG FLASHING NEON LIGHTS!!!!! spam.
In the real world, there isa term for these WARNING WORLD IS ABOUT TO END IN BIG FLASHING NEON LIGHTS!!!!!. They are reffered to as nuisance warnings, and in any well designed device, they are ruthlessly eliminated from the interface. The problem is, when one constantly flashes WARNING WORLD IS ABOUT TO END IN BIG FLASHING NEON LIGHTS!!!!!, particularly in situations where the end user cannot influence the outcome, the end user quickly becomes desensitized to any form of warning at all, reducing the effect of valuable warnings. One does not design warnings to encourage their ignorance, after all.
Eve, specifically, is littered with nuisence warnings, that especially pop up in situations where players are making virtual life or death decisions, or when doing some highly tedious task. Alerts such as the Nova "You have been killed" tutorial, that inevitably pops up when you have just lost a ship, and are in a highly vulnerable pop should never have been included in the game. Warnings such as the infamous "You are repackaging an item, which could result in its repackaging!" should have been removed over a year ago. The "Gang members in a war might shoot you," warning is just the latest in the long list of WARNING WORLD IS ABOUT TO END IN BIG FLASHING NEON LIGHTS!!!!! that may or may not actually mean it, and are eminently forgetable because of it.

I had a bit of a falling out with CCP recently.. I was in a L4 mission with some friends from another corp, and I was running support with remote shield and armor reps. I went away for a brew, and came back to find my pod floating next to a group of CONCORD ships.. It turns out that your drones will attack anything you target, even a friendly target in the same group, and worst of all, the client won't warn you of the action and let your drones get your ganked by CONCORD!
I had to argue long and hard to get my scorpion back, and in the end they said "Don't target people not in your corp". Bunch of arse mate.
