Uh, ever even been to Aridia? theres a handful at most of systems that concord are in. I counted 10 in the whole region.

Your corpmate already posted the link, but like I said, it also includes participations. if you count only the losses and final blows on/from your side you will get a whole different picture. I can assure you - the killratio doesn't look bad for our side.

We are going to clear the aridia area, or at least keep people docked most of the time.
VC - Alot of people talking here that I don't remember seeing at all, maybe if most of the VC ppl here talking actually got together, and formed a decent fleet we could have some real fun.Wether or not they would actually engage is another thing...
KIA - you heard molle, aridia is to be cleared, if you wish to stay then you have made your choice.I think it's only fair that you took a contract to war us, and now we will make our own contract to war you, whats the problem?At least you "could" avoid it if you wanted to.
Anyone else - I advise you to pls stay in aridia so there are more things to shoot.

Juan I know Nemisis fought,but out of NORAD the minority were fighters,THEMM were cannon fodder and BNC and NM were pretty much the balls of Norad. And when all three left look what happened. And yes Juan I do know where NORAD lived but we ALWAYS had trouble on the PF-4c route and since NM was primarily a French corp your time zone disallowed you from being on the US time slots when oddly enough a decent amount of m0o members still played on,I say oddly since I know that the bulk of the core m0o members were from the UK, which for me is +8 to my current time zone. So after BNC went to represent NORAD in GNW,the US time slots left NORAD vulnerable, case in point OC's two week excursion to OR.
Saying NORAD didn't have carebears is like saying m0o was souly a mining and manufacturing corp and Zap really was famous for being the first man to strip mine Veld in Yulai with a Scorp, it just ain't true.

90% of the smack, chestbeating and epeen waving in this thread so far has been from VC members which is incredibly ironic given how much grief BoB get for that kind of behaviour on the forums. It's nice to see a Celes member raise the tone... spoke too soon the tone dropped between me typing this and getting around to posting it!
VC have made it pretty clear they want to duke it out with us, we're making it pretty clear that we're happy to oblige. Let's see how the ingame actions stack up over the next few weeks, hopefully neither side will be dissappointed.

Destroyers. It wasn't good enough to lay waste to all 0.0 you touch, but now you are threatening all of the empire corps in the Aridia region (Keba<->Hopib route not withstanding).
In akido, one uses the attackers strength and inertia against them.

Yes you can tank and gank people in low sec Aridia but thats hardly clearing everyone out of the entire region.
Aridia is one cookie you can't have, so perhaps re-edit your post to "low sec Arida" only.

I fail to see the master plan here, tbh its just a cover to avoid picking a fight with the [5] who you will not be able to handle and who will be active in the north from now and dont want you getting in thier way.
You wont attack SA because most of your alts are in there, you wont attack FIX because they protect your backyard. You wont go east in general because you cant pwn factions there like you can in the north.
Take IRON for example, whether in their previous guise of CoD or NSA they are still predominately miners and will not be as hard to fight as for example RA or VI or ASCN or SA or SE.
Its about time BoB aspired to fight people that can actually fight back...please discuss.

BoB is coming to Aridia cause Vertigo Coalition is based there to attack Fountain core. Since in last days we went to fountain core, BoB hopes to crush us by invading Aridia.

I have nothing to do with this at all but as its all out on a public forum perhaps someone can indulge me.
Now Evo are quite a well known and generally respected corp in this here game, they have obviously earned their spurs through out-foxing the opposition and have capable and lerned leaders and commanders.
So why in the name of all that is holy would they *announce* their intentions to sweep through aridia? Surely the element of suprise would enable them to secure aridia quickly and more efficiently? They would be able to mobilise their hardware with little fuss and would be able to avoid the eyes of eve watching the map for their arrival. Before anyone could actually undock they would be into the core of the region and begin their "cleansing" from within. Now all we have is a massing of BoB enemies awaiting their arrival and preparing to let slip the dogs of war.
Ok, there is a school that says its easier to attack than defend so there is one reason to announce it but I dont buy that, I cant decide whether this really is just posturing and chest beating or whether there is just a tad of spin and propoganda involved.
...Or maybe i have too much free time and am reading too much into it. Whatever, with the ever changing face of alliances and politics in this game it seems an odd decision to make such a bold and highlighted statement of intent given the obvious credibility of BoB and more importantly, Evo commanders.
A curious situation indeed.
Good luck to all parties invlolved, its good to see such immersion in this game.

Thanks for the answer Molle, like i say, I am more interested in the theory behind it than the actual thing itself. I do think that the public image you are pushing may contain just a tad of spin, I am not sure you will be so community spirited when the guns start and it still seems bold that you would compromise your tactical and logistical advantages for a clean and fair public image.

No. We are going to simply kill anyone who doesn't heed our warning and vacate the area for a while. We don't have the means to advertise this in game because the mechanics to hire advertising space on billboards etc haven't been introduced so it's been posted in here to at least give some kind of advance warning.
Don't turn this into some kind of moral crusade because you're on to a loser there. We're not the bad guys, we're not the good guys, we are just BoB and we are just doing what we want to fulfil our own agenda within the game mechanics.

Does anyone really believe that BoB has any interest in holding Aridia. I think they are going to do just what they say, clear the area.
Why, I am sure its a security issue for them. They have an insurgency fighting them and using that region as a staging ground for strikes. They cut their enemies supply lines and they slow the insurgency. They make their presence felt in the region for just long enough to encourage the less dedicated to move elsewhere and they will achieve what they are going for.
I mean its Aridia FFS.

Looking at the most current territory map, strategically this move doesn't make sense. So since it defies logic to move into this area, a neutral observer is forced to conclude that BoB is losing ground in other areas and is using a threatening post to try and intimidate their way into an place to retreat.
Thank God I'm Evolved enough to use logic.

Its sad isnt it :S Its up to combat alliances to show them how CCP intended this game to be played. PVP drives the economy of eve, without it eve would die. The funny thing is the PVP alliances have an Industrial backbone that would put most peacefull alliances to shame.

I agree with that. I'm sure BoB has the best of both worlds..if they didn't they wouldn't have what they have now.
Now back to the op, life in this chunk of empire should be real interseting soon(tm). Hopefully the flames end from both sides and we just have fun shooting eachother.

a) existing corps in aridia will be up for the fight lol from what im hearing
b) the pirates (loot - mafia - fzn - legion - pink panther and many others will be in aridia in force)
c) contraband and other merc corps have been using it as a base
d) imp - xelas - vertigo - BOB - fountain should all turn up
e) im hearing forsaken empire - and G are turning up to support imp
f) im sure some of the 5 will follow suit chasing CF who are a f-e front corp
g) anyone else that feels free to come to aridia all are welcome should be an interesting weekend.

SHYBUM1 was quite on the subject.
By locking down Aridia you secure the entrance to Delve and Fountain from many. Then you scare the locals out of Aridia, which will make the market slowly decay. This will require more logistics into Aridia, at which point the indys will be suicided and big logistical corps will get declared by Mercs. After a month of constantly getting no sales or getting industrials blown up, many freelancers will give up moving goods into the region.
This will cripple organizations that wants to attack BoB, in both Fountain, Aridia and Delve. Going to Fountain via Syndicate is too long a journey. Place some mercs/pirates along the route and you have your own corner of the map covered. BoB will have loads of fun in Aridia, securing their interests and at the same time killing general logistics that could be used against them.
I think it is a good tactical move.

I see 2 possible thoeries here, tell me which is right:
(1) The Syndicate/OuterRing corridor is wild as always and your carebear ISK makers have suffered some losses moving product to market, so you decided to take Aridia (and I would assume it's condiut towards Genesis/Forge regions) so that they could safely make the trip from Fountain to empire?
OR
(2) SIrMolle got nervous seeing all this other activity around the universe and said to himself "NOBODY'S LOOKING AT ME", so he decided to do something, anythign at all, to get back on the headlines. Egos require meaintenance.

Dark Slayer a small point though aridia is a dead end market now as it is. Most of those operating here are pirate corps that double up on some production and sales of their loot.
The rest are passers by heading to khandid or syndicate there are combat agents from vehan - hier and up in firnieh then there are a link of manufacturing agents from gens and kamih out to malaana.
The reason my inside sources tell me is to simply lock down imperium from the region and the mercs who have setup shop.
The pirates well u wont stop them they have great success up here.
xelas - vertigo war is also another factor. As for the market well im hearing quite a few corps bringing stuff in to sell into a war market it will be as active as aridia has been since the old itrek and other old corps aridia defense force that operated last year but disbanded as everyone went their own way
As for the locals well they will adapt - we have been operating up here for a long time without to much grief

There's something to be said for this point of view - the whole thing reminds me of something akin to the strategy employed by Julius in his Roman campaigns in northern Europe. A large empire which can't afford to overstretch itself but still needs to present the image of unstoppable power - what do you do? You employ the tactics of terror. You ride into someone else's territory, lay everything to waste, and then just ride out again. Everybody's scared, you look really strong and powerful, but don't need to go to the trouble of defending territory that would be too costly in the long run to hold. Maybe you even consider extracting a tithe on the back of the threat that you might do it again - keep everybody under the thumb with minimal expenditure of your own military resources, creating a buffer zone to protect your flank while you turn your attention to more profitable targets elsewhere.

Well, imho its a brilliant move from a strategic point of view.
Game mechanics dont help much in their currentstate, but what BoB are doing is securing their space (and their beloved miner slaves that are proven incapable of defending themselves once more ) in the best way they can before going on the offensive again against another northern alliance.
It is common knowledge that defending is more difficult then attacking in the current game state, and BoB dont want a weak spot in their ambitious plan.
It's actually props to them for thinking out of the box and have long term goals.
Now they r enemies so no gl I guess, but a nice and interesting move indeed.
Fun times ahead. We better prepare

Here is my forray into the possible reasons of attacking Aridia.
First Aridia was to FA what Syndicate was to NORAD. Grab Aridia and hold it and you get a secure empire/0.0 route.
This attack clears out any potential threat and any current annoyance,also if no one has noticed yet BoB numbers increase after wars so this could be as simple as just being a damn bloody and fun recruitement drive ((btw if this is true, should have tried it sooner maybe my boredom wouldn't have been as bad)),this way they get more members that actually have experience and can now have enough people to fuel their northern campaigne. Also I wouldn't be surprised if a few carebear corps were recruited to help fuel the war effort (( DimZ and Blacklight can only mine so much!!))

Personally I think this is more great drama on the BBC...sorry I mean CCP.
BOB want to rid Aridia of hostiles, more power to them, it's certainly something no one else has tried and will be interesting to see how it goes.
Its abvious that Aridia was going to be a thorn in BOB's side because of hostiles using it as a jump off point into Fountain, hell last week I was thinking of moving some ships up there myself.
The only problem I can see with this plan is, IF you manage to kick out most of your enemies from aridia, what is to stop them from coming back a couple of weeks later, you will to do the whole thing again and I can't see it being a short campaign.
Like I say, will be interesting to see how it turns out.

Personally, I love the Delve region. I can certainly understand why BoB runs it's operations out of the Delve region. I've never seen a richer region in EVE. Every mineral is available all within several jumps of any station. Complexes everywhere. Plenty to do down here when BoB logs in & sits at a POS unwilling to fight.

What I read in the OP is that BoB wants to cleanse Aridia of anyone not blue to them, nowhere do they mention anything about claiming the region. But if they did, what would be stopping them? Game Mechanics, nothing else.
Game mechanics have been adjusted to what players created before, so why shouldn't CCP adjust them so that you can take over a region from one of the NPC factions? Player corps formed unofficial alliances, and CCP gave them a way to make it official. Remember the Jove guy that got blown up? He came back and recognised the alliances as souvereign entities.
This could very well be a first step towards being able to actually fight the 'powers that be' and have more player controlled contents in game. CCP are talking about giving players sentry guns to protect their space at some point, so why not give them the chance of (limited) control over parts of what is now empire space?
Sure, CCP would have to think long and hard about how to implement something like this without confining the players who don't want anything to do with pvp to only a couple of systems. Then again, this is supposed to be a PVP driven game.
Anyway, BoB hasn't stated anything about claiming the region, but I really hope CCP picks up on BoB's plans, and starts thinking about ways to give players more control over the space they inhabit. I see this as history in the making, and it's up to CCP if they are going to let history be made.

Oooo how we all hope there will be some Xelas left around. We've been pacing ourselves and been careful not too kill you off entirely.
Ask your members how they feel about their constant losses and abandonment of activity within 10 seconds of a FA/Vertigo member entering local.
Some of us left the alliance + region for 6+ months because of the bore, and went where the targets were plentiful. Thanks for bringing the fun back to Fountain.

I'm all in favour of Alliance interactions and politics having an impact of some form on the game (player made content ftw, after all). In this instance, however, by publicly declaring their intention to purge an Empire region I fear that BoB are overstepping the mark. The unclaimed (by NPS factions) 0.0 regions are the Alliance playgrounds, not the core.
It's been mentioned a couple of times in this thread that the Amarr Empire should react in some way, and I can't see how CCP can possibly not have it react. To ignore this action by BoB would effectively be saying to any major future Alliance that they can go wherever they please and do whatever the hell they please to whoever the hell they please with next to no consequence for their actions.
Let me repeat, a major military incursion into the sovereign space of the Amarr Empire must be answered with overwhelming force. That said, a number of BoB pilots have posted here that they would welcome the 'targets'. This sums up one of the perceptual problems that seems to be rife in EVE. The factional Empires must have industrial bases several orders of magnitude greater than anything available to any player Alliance. If they chose to rid Aridia of a an Alliance incursion they should be able to field whetever number of ships that they required to do the job- they should not be the irrelevance that they are being taken for in this thread.
Sadly, the fact is that since the BoB ships will be piloted by players and the chances are that any faction Navy ships would be NPCs, it would probably lead to any action of this type being a 'fish in barrel' situation. So what could be done?
In my opinion, the Empires as a group (most certainly the Amarr Empire and their Caldari allies) and possibly CONCORD should consider this public declaration of BoB's intentions as tantamount to war. Every single pilot in BoB should be designated as outlaws... their factional standings should be set immediately to -10 so that they are engaged by the Navy at every single opportunity.
Hell, if you want to look at it objectively, this is an insurgency on a grand scale. Every single pilot in BoB should have their security staus set to -10 too, and then the rest of EVE could play a part in addressing the action, rather than leaving it to the somewhat underpowered NPC factions.
Anyway, that was just a few thoughts that were running through my head as I ploughed through this thread.
PS- I have no personal axe to grind with BoB. The post above is simply the way I would expect an Empire faction to deal with actions such as this one being taken in their space. If they don't, then it will- in my opinion- be detrimental for the future stability of the game.

Its mainly 0.0 to 0.4 And theres no Police there anyway. Its not what I'd class as True Empire, more like the outskirts of it.
On another note :
I've got plenty of beer, I'll also set up a Designated Smoking area for those who need it in The Station in hoseen. Got plenty of Exotic Dancers to go around (And Live stock for those that want it)

Well those hiding behind alts (sometimes) have a valid reason. I.E. if you're in a crazy alliance that has a bunch of forum rules, etc. You may have a valid point to make (though, by no means all the time lol) but can't say it for fear of getting booted from your corp or alliance. Crazy, but it happens.

Don't think so. I don't even know where the region is that we are talking about, but i can think of scenarios where you want some control of low sec systems.
Especially the low sec systems that lie on the borders/travel routes to 0.0 might be interesting for an alliance and you may want full control for some time: So no alts, spies, pirates, friends of your enemies, nothing that means a risk.
I'd say if your alliance is strong enough and needs the area for some time for whatever, it's the right move to say: 'Everyone stay out of the area for 2 weeks or get war decc'ed and shot ! No discussion, this is your only choice !'.
Like I say, I have no idea what's it all about, but I understand that there can be good reasons for an alliance to act this way. And since EVE is about pvp and since there is an intended difference between low-sec and high-sec, it's valid ;)

After reading thru this... I think I have pieced together the puzzle. I will sum it up for those who have just tuned in:
Little Bobbie (Xelas) has been getting beat up at school by all the bigger kids. Big Brother (BoB) sees the termoil Little Bobbie is going thru... and perhaps the future psychological implications it may have upon his life. With Little Bobbie already being on high doses of Ritalin this could become a prescription nightmare in the future. Now Little Bobbie could probably be taken off Ritalin, but Big Brother sees how docile and calm he is in his doped up state. How dare these kids beat up a poor defenceless drug induced child.
Big Brother still remembers the days when he was on the Ritalin... he still steals a few of Little Bobbie's from time to time. Probably why he can't remember who Little Bobbie said the perpetrators were, but knows them b**tards live in Ardia. So stealing a few extra of Little Bobbie's Ritalin pills (To take the edge off). He gets ready to march off to Ardia.
Will Big Brother stomp out these irrotants? Will Little Bobbie kick the Ritalin habit? Or will Ardia hide Big Brothers of their own? Stay tuned for Part 2 this Friday.

Now I'm really upset. Fluff told me they would'nt allow Designated Smoking area's at the stations in Empire. I now suspect that it's part of an evil plan to encourage me to move completely into Fountain Core.
Next thing you know, someone will tell me he lied about mandatory docking fee's I have to pay him when docking in Empire as well...

Now I am going to tell you all a secret.
He is one the players you want to kill (I will not say because he would get really mad at me), but he is off doing Air Force thingies for the last few days and has not been home to play. He was talking about this thread so I have been watching it. I want to suprise him by joining a bunch of the players he says he wants to shoot at, just to play against him.
I know he will see this post soon, he gets home tomorrow. So I want this to be done when he logs in to catch up.

Well, I have spent 5 months building this account for her and she said she wanted to have a pirate player.
I have spent all this time just training this account to be a real pure bred killer. Nothing but killing skills mind you and it's almost ready to hatch and I would prefer she not get it killed right out of the box since I have been feeding this little beast from "The Hooch" account and I don't want the money to be wasted.
My other carebear account feeds Hooch isk. But Hooch is busy with you all, and cannot make isk on his own now.
It's all a rather vicious circle.

What can you do? How about: strap some effin' guns on and come fight.
You live in some sort of low-sec region, apparently, so uhm, you should probably be able to fight.
Side note: Berak is terrified his gf won't let him play enough this weekend :-( She won't make a char and come fight with me either :-( Clearly she has no appreciation for Aridia, wtf.

It has like 4x the views of the rules thread, and if alot of people had read the rules thread, they wouldn't have posted here. BoB is invading aridia and they announced it, there wasn't anything for discussion in the post. Come friday im curious to see the killboards and how this works out as it will be interesting tactics used to "cleanse" a part of empire. gl to those in Aridia and gl to BoB, should be an interesting weekend for Eve history.

While BoB has some very good PvPers and we fight with equal numbers or outnumbered often, we also have people that are not so very good in PvP.

Just, LOL? There is no AFK indicator in EVE, Wrayeth, just as YOU have assumed that all our "in-game" pilots are actually active, we do the same.

EVE is a game of patience and moves that takes days, weeks, months and even the larger part of a year to execute. Patience ;).
This thread just keeps getting better I understand completely about moving with patience - because it's not as if you've had the last, oh, two weeks to scout the region, set up bookmarks, develop a plan, move supplies and get your forces in position for a strike.
What's going on here? I have to admit to being even more confused now than I was before - BoB announces their intention to sweep the region clear, removing the advantage of surprise and giving opponents the time to move in and set up for defense - even giving them the chance to take the fight to them on their own turf - and then the promised apocalypse-like slash and burn fails to happen on the day threatened. Was it just a ploy to draw out current and potential enemies and get them where you can find them easily? Or did the failure to scare everyone out of Aridia force BoB into a quick rethink of their plans?
I'm not claiming to be a strategic wiz or anything, but forewarning of a major attack seems to me like it's either a clever decoy or an act of pure ballsiness (but that second option would only work if BoB was able to quickly deliver on their promise - each day that passes without evidence of BoB taking over Aridia makes the alliance appear weaker). Maybe that's the plan though and BoB has a surprise waiting?

Hehe, only thing is you don't have the resolve RA does to anchor 300 POS's and fuel them. You couldnt even last in Outer Ring (NPC Stations) a month versus BOB. .5. fought RA in POS warfare for atlast four months.

I was able to finish my courier mission while BOB was attacking our system with more than 40 members. One was able to lock my Sigil (industrial ship) but was not fast enough to think about warpjamming and ... started shooting at me, which of course was very stupid because 0.5 sec later I jumped away to continue my courier mission. For your information : my courier mission consisted of pickups and deliveries of sealed containers (1100 to 1250m¦) spread over not less than 4 locations and I didn't miss the time bonus. I managed to get through 4 consecutive gatecamps with at least 10 people on each gatecamp, the largest one 20 people. What can I say more...
This must have been some sort of safari through the savage region "Aridia" for their toughest members.
