Is it just my connection today or does the server, or some routers inbetween me and the servers, kick you off regularly today?
I haven't had a single crash to desktop in the past 3 months but today I got kicked off a dozen times already. Loading and browsing this forum seems to happen without delay and is fast accessible but whenever the client crashes it first needs 10 seconds or more to just find the server (checking status) and then logging in takes unusual long too.

Originally by: Joshua Foiritain Eve works fine for me.
The thing is, it works just fine 99% of the time. Searching the market in Jita goes instantaniously but then suddenly no client response and 10 seconds later my desktop. Even while idling.

Edited by: Aeon on 17/10/2005 14:59:20 Right now, EVE has become unplayable for me. CTD's in 5 minutes interval (but oddly enough inbetween still great response times)
It almost seems that there's a faulty router somewhere inbetween Amsterdam and iar2.tsd.cw.net.. but then again I'm an ICT noob

The first ctd occured to me about one hour before today's downtime, at 10:05 GMT. Then it took half an hour for the next ctd to say hi. The third one came 20 minutes later. After downtime it rapidly became worse.
So if the upgrade, or preparation thereof, to the loadbalancers started before downtime it might play a role here, otherwise it rather seems to be merely a coincidence.
And the dozens of traceroutes seem to indicate the problem lies elsewhere, outside of CCP's network, possibly with the icelandic telecom.
(Still unable to play and do something actual useful other than looking for 0.0 isk escrows.)

Edited by: Aeon on 18/10/2005 17:59:08 I set my pingplotter to ping the server on a 1 second interval so maybe that will keep my connection alive.. and haven't crashed for 15 minutes now.
That must be a day's record
Edit: Guess it didn't help much. My record stands for 20 minutes of continious gameplay now...

So, didn't do the trick for me, although I did stay connected a little while longer than usual, about 20 minutes

Originally by: Gonada no probs here(central canada), nor anyone i play with.
then again, everyone i know has a kickass comp and broadband.
Well if that was the problem I wouldn't have these problems I guess... 3500 and 11-12ms average ping to the server.

Still suffering from packetlosses at 166.63.210.23 (iar2.tsd.cw.net) and 157.157.139.252 (second last hop)

I find the news response slightly disappointing...
Can't there be found a way to put in some more slack in the connection protocol, make the client less sensitive to packetloss?
This ofcourse assuming that packetloss is the problem here. But we still don't know for sure. All the News states is that it's beyond their control which makes me curious as to who is in control.

Although Pingplotter shows more PL I haven't crashed a single time since server came up.
Thanks CCP for restoring our lives again
