Date: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 29, 30 November, 1 December 2013.
Venue: Rydges World Square Hotel, 389 Pitt St, Sydney, Australia. (same as last year)
We are pleased to announce, after a very successful event last year, EVE Down Under will be held again this year.
We have plans to make it bigger and better this year, so it is the GÇ£not to be missedGÇ¥ event for EVE-Online players in the Australian time zone.
This year, the event will span three days, starting with a reception function on Friday night and finish lunchtime Sunday. Hopefully this will provide time to fly back home for those who need to make it back to work on Monday.
Whilst we plan to make it bigger/better than last year, you can get a general idea of what we did in 2012 from a write up of last yearsGÇÖ event on TheMittani.com and series of pictures HERE.
The goal of EVE Down Under 2013 is to bring a little of the GÇ£magicGÇ¥ of EVE Fanfest in Iceland, which I have had the privilege of attending for the past three years, to the AUTZ, for people who cannot quite make it to the other side of the globe!

You can find out more about the event and additional announcements as details become available at www.evedownunder.com, and by listening into the EVE Down Under Show every Friday night (half hour before EVE downtime) on www.netgameradio.com.

A quick update...
We now have just over half the number who attended last year (145), signed up to attend this year.. and we are still four months away!
Given that 80% sign up in the last month, this is shaping up to be one of the, (if not the) biggest EVE events outside of Iceland.
We continue to make plans... I took my trusty scout ship into the centre of Sydney today, and confirmed the suitability of a number of bars for internet spaceship dudes, including a couple with views over our world famous harbour !
Details of event specific venues (in addition to the Rydges of course) will be posted soon on www.evedownunder.com!
Thanks AUTZ community for your support, (and anyone else from around the world - lookin at you Chribba!), it is really appreciated.
It's going to be a LOT of fun.

Another quick update.
CCP have confirmed CCP Fozzie will be attending EVE Down Under 2013.
The momentum for the event continues to build, with ticket sales continuing to outstrip last year, and we are on track for the largest gathering of EVE AUTZ players ever.
Come join us in Sydney, AU for one hell of a party!

A quick update on the plans for EVE Down Under 2013.
We now have over 200 confirmed attendees! ... Thanks AUTZ community for your support... the weekend is shaping up to be HUGE.
For those who didn't see the recent Update (which you can read HERE), we are now offering the opportunity to advertise your corporation or alliance in the offical EVE Down Under 2013 Program.
The Program will be a 28-page A5 booklet that will include a bunch of useful stuff, including a map of the Pub Crawl being held Saturday night.
In other news, thanks to our friends at eve-bet we now have a Utu to give away as one of the MAJOR prizes of the event.
This ATX 8 Ship is currently valued at over 50 billion ISK!
All attendees of EVE Down Under 2013 will be eligible to win this ship, and it will be contracted to the winner (in Jita) during Prize Handout session at the end of the event. More details about this prize can be found HERE.
We are also giving away a Macbook Air, along with a bunch of other cool stuff, both in-game and out.
We are getting VERY excited about the event, I hope you can join us for a chance to meet all the "cool kids" from the AUTZ :)

For those who didn't see it elsewhere, we posted another Update on the www.evedownunder.com website HERE, including the news that a crew from ABC TV - Good Game will be attending as part of a feature they are putting together about EVE-Online.
If you plan to attend but have yet to purchase your ticket, please do so soon, as we are heading for a sell-out (confirmed attendees currently stand at 223).
Unfortunately, for various operational/logistical reasons, we recently had to lock in a hard upper limit of 250!!

Once again, absolutely stunning event, glad I made the trip again and finally back home in NZ. BIG thanks to RDNx, Bam Stroker, Dark Razer, Hamber Bogan (best bogan), Le'count Montecristo (and all the partners involved) for the organising behind the scenes - it obviously took a whole lot of work to make the event run so smoothly.
