A friend of mine is in Pator system 1.0 security and is being attacked by a Rupture. the police is doing nothing, his sec is -9.9. Was just getting there with my thorax and bang, stuck in Amamake. :( I really don't think that my corp is at war with his war. He can't even leave the station. /Phoibos

... Someone from corporation at war with your friend's company, perhaps?..

No we are in the same corp. He sais that the guy is attacking everyone in this solar system. So it sounds more like he has found a bug, or that my friend is confused. /Andreas

The 1.0 security level of the system does not prevent someone from entering into the system and attacking the others. It just means there will be a Concorde response to the actions of the person attacking should it not be following typical Corporate Warfare rules.
The attacker was most likely in the system attacking individuals as well as dealing with the Concorde threat for the time being. Sometimes the bad guys do win. I am sure his rein of destruction will eventually come to and end as his resources diminish.
This is one of the things which makes EVE interesting and fun.

A few days ago I was attacking people in Duripant which is a 1.0 and the police weren't there and the sentry guns didn't do anything. So everybody kinda started attacking everybody.
So just have fun if something like that happens.

Concord is often too busy off killing innocents to note real attacks.
I mean its like you want corporations to oblige each other like its sex or something. Pffft I would rather **** my enemy.- Rohann

"Concord is often too busy off killing innocents to note real attacks."
... I think Concord simply recognizes there's no innocents, only those who have not yet been proven guilty.... :s

Edited by: Captin Zed on 04/08/2003 08:04:54 Humm, You say his SEC level was -9.9 right?
And Concord only arrives if sombody gets a SEC hit in the system?
Could it possibly be that this person has the MAXIMUM negative sec level already? If he can't lose and more SEC level for his actions mabey this is NOT triggering Concord!
Lets hope I am wrong there.

I saw Molly in Amarr today with a -9.9 sec rating, CONCORD wasn't touching her. A corp mate of mine got attacked by Lord Zap in Luminaire a few days ago, though Zap jumped out after CONCORD arrived.

It was Number One in the Pator system the other day. It looked like CONCORD was following him, and I saw some msg about 'you are an enemy, blah, blah' However, they didn't attack.
I think Capt Zed is right. With a max negative sec rating you do not recieve a sc hit.

Destroying someone in 1.0 from time to time is much easier than 0.9 - 0.5.
Wtg CCP.
We need more of the sentry guns. And please make all jump gates instant jump, so nobody gets caught. And so on... ---

Edited by: Meau on 05/08/2003 00:57:58 The situation really appears to be as follows: - People with max negative sec dont trigger concord by shooting at others, sometimes (maybe always, but i cant really check that).
- The destruction of a ship seems to be able to trigger em though, or maybe its just coincident cause the sometimes above applies.
- Many if not all highway gates dont have sentry guns
- It sometimes happens that after all concord in a system are killed, none spawn for quite some time
The first two points can lead to the situation that you are shot at in 1.0 and nobody cares. When youre ship makes boom, the agressor has still time to warp away. The last two points can easily lead to a situation in which campers can kill a lot of ships in 1.0 space.
Though im definetely not on the carebear side of any such discussion, both situations are only possible due to bugs in the implementation of concord (trigger bug and respawn bug) which should be fixed asap. I would rate both as exploits, if anybody was able to provoke them knowingly. Maybe you can try to claim that someone uses the respawn bug knowningly, you sadly wont be able to prove it. Maybe he was just farming concord. Claiming that someone knowningly uses the other bug is even more silly in most cases, cause many people cant choose not to use it. If somebody stays in 1.0 for hours and repeatedly attacks a lot of people, hes guilty though, i guess ;).
Lets hope all involved bugs get fixed as soon as possible (dont forget to file bug reports;), till then happy hunting molly ;).

I've seen a sec -9.9 guy killing with impunity in several 0.6 and 0.7 systems.
Insanely when people attacked him, Concord warped in to attack THEM.
One of his pirate mates who had a sec rating of -9 had Concord arrive in less than 3 minutes when he attacked me in 0.4 system, so I reckon having a -9.9 sec rating must be bugged. ----- Janus "I'm not a stripper, I'm a miner." |
