A person with Empire Control 5 creates an alliance, other corporations join, then this person leaves the alliance and there are no other pilots with Empire Control 5 remaining in the alliance.
What are the consequences, if any, to the alliance when the alliance creator leaves?
Do you need Empire Control 5 to run an alliance? Or just to create one?

The executor can't leave if no other corp in the alliance has a CEO with empire control 5 afaik.
The only thing that can be done for the executor to leave in that situation is to disband the alliance. --------

If this happens, then i think that the only thing that will happn is that no more corps can join said alliance.
I think it happend with PA when Xelas alliance seperated from PA.

Not strictly true, ens. Louisa Torres was CEO of RKK for all of about a week, long enough to create the iga, accept the corps involved and hand the chair back to Galavet.
Dunno whether we can accept any more corps, though, and I dunno what would happen if Louisa was to leave the alliance.
Will have a test on SiSi at some point and find out.

If your exec leaves the alliance then you simply can not add or drop corps to the alliance untill someone gets the skills trained to take over. Basicall you loose all controls. Least that was true 5 months ago. Once the new skills are trained then a simple note to the GMs will fix it, then it goes active after the next DT.
Hope this helps,

hmmm something must have changed somewhere along the line...
FIX changed its executor corporation a few months ago, hence the person that created the alliance was no longer in the executor corporation.
The new executor corporation has a CEO which im positive does not have empire control lvl 5, yet he is able to exercise all the functions available to the alliance executor, i.e allowing new corporations to join etc...
The alliance, once created, is no longer dependent on any one individual and the incumbent executor corporation can be any corporation in the alliance, that gets the support of the other alliance members.
I believe thats how it works.

Edited by: t3mpus II on 21/10/2005 16:08:32 Empire control 5 is needed only for creating the alliance. Nothing else, as far as I know. Alliance controls work perfectly (Standings, new corps etc) without having someone with Empire control 5.

I'm pretty sure it works the same as for corporations. That is, as long as you don't hit that little "Update with my skills" button, things should keep operating smoothly.
