There is a solution. SECURE CANISTERS. make "Indy" sized ones... HUGE indy sized ones. ones with 5,000 cargo each. "THAT" would solve the problem.
-Rei
BUT THEIR NOT THERE SO THERE IS A PROBLEM.
And you can't use multiple secure canisters why? My understanding (and when I tried it myself) they have no jettison timer. In fact if you fill your industrial with secure canisters you'll find they work like extra cargo expanders thanks to the last patch.
Face it, you're being lazy.

I like that idea. I really do!
That's such a GREAT idea in fact, I'm gonna do it when I gate blockade! I need a "LOT" of them... I'd say 20,000 should do fine? wouldnt you agree? I mean, I do get a "LOT" of loot! I mean... that should hold it for a while at least... I might have to go get more tho. GREAT IDEA! -Rei (END SCARCASM) _________________________ Trolling is bad. Please dont do it. -rei |

Yet I note you have no reply to what was actually said.
La'Rei, use the secure containers or risk losing your work. It's very simple and I think it's a very fair trade. With effort, you can protect your work against anything and everything. Or you can bypass putting in the effort in order to save time. But doing so comes with a risk.
Quit trying to have your cake and eat it too. There's enough of that going on between the pirates and the traders. Which only leads to nerfs all around.

While I mostly agree with Jash about using secure containers. It is interesting to me that so soon after introducing the jettison timer, they introduce cans that don't use it, don't expire, and can only be removed by the player that dropped them. Did sombody miss a memo somewhere

I have indy jettision 50 cargo cans.
Some bastard warps in and trys to kill me.
I kill him.
He files petition to CCP says I exploited.
CCP comes.
I'm banned.
THANK YOU! GREAT IDEA! -Rei _________________________ Trolling is bad. Please dont do it. -rei |

You'd get banned for what? Container lag?
I'm definately not a person anyone would call "Friend of CCP". But even I won't accuse a CCP GM of stupidity on that level. Hell, I wouldn't accuse a SOE GM of that level of stupidity.
Now you're just being petulant.

I dont think you were around when mOo got busted for exploiting by laying out 50 canisters?
it causes warp in lag loading their locations. That is a bug in the system, and players know it is, and thus it is an exploit. And useing an exploit is terms for account deletion/ban.
NOT what I want. Please find me another way to strip mine with cargo canisters without getting banned from EVE. THANK YOU! -Rei

First, I was around when m0o was accused of exploiting. And you'll note those accusations all came from the playerbase. The people with any the authority concerning exploits, CCP, never accused them of any such thing. Nor did they ever publically declare the containers to be exploitive, choosing to take measures against them.
Second, a person using the containers how they're intended for what they're intended getting banned for exploiting would be ludicous. And any newly hired GM with a cursory glance at the situation would be able to see that.
Third, I'm no ore theing. I'm just completely fed up with the nerfs and the bugs that accompany them getting implemented in the gaame interfering with MY playtime because people refuse to accept responsibility for their own actions. You choose not to use a secure container, opting for an unsecured one. By definition, that unsecure container is vulnerable. You choose to make yourself vulnerable and then complain at the repercussions of your own choices?
Please, go away before I get annoyed enough to tell you what I really think of people like that.

I think that might make some more sence.
The secure cargo cans are totally useless the way they are... unless you want to use them for ****ing people off... other than that, their useless. _________________________ Trolling is bad. Please dont do it. -rei |

And you need 50 secure cargo cans at once why ? Jeez get over your whining already. Just buy enough secure cans to fill the hold of your indy. Your indy will basically have the benefits of cargo expanders now because of the last patch (where secure cans hold more space than they take up). Fly out in your indy, jettison the secure containers. Fly back to base, switch to mining ship, come out, mine, dump ore in secure cans. When all the secure cans are filled, you have an indy load. Switch to indy, and come pick up. Its NOT THAT FREAKING DIFFICULT.
Or, alternatively, you can use the existing jettison cannisters, which hold an infinite amount, but you run the risk of being ripped off. Risk vs reward.

Actually your wrong.
I dont give a bloody hoot. I mine in 1.0 zones useing regular canisters.
I am soon not going to mine at all or even approach empire space. I'm going full pirate. I dont use cargo cans because well... they suck.
And uhh... yeah! :)
I am just saying... I want to be able to kill people when I want. I know a lot of people taht would like that feature too... added in "some" way.

Allow me to contract kill in 1.0 space.
Your problem will be solved.

that is basically what I'm saying.
We need to be able to "punish" people who hide in front of the police station.
we walk by, he steals your purse/wallet. You punch him and try to get it back, the cops arrest you.
what you should be able to do is... bribe the cops so they 'let' you push the 'culprit' in your own way. Thus CONCORD aint evil. I am. :) -Rei _________________________ Trolling is bad. Please dont do it. -rei |

Isnt it the case that mobile refineries will eradicate this "issue" in so far as there IS a method for "safe" solo mining of horrendous amounts of ore?

Hi all,
How about this for a solution to Ore thieves. If you are NOT in the same Corp or gang as the owner of a container - but you take something out of it. You are a thief, therefore you take a security hit.
If someone is such a persistant Ore thief then their security rating will eventually drop so much that they become legal targets - even in 1.0 space.
Regards,
Keeval |
