sup peeps i would just like your opinion on how to equip a Thorax for max damage.
i'm currently useing 5 magnetic field stabilizer's in low slots , 2 medium shield booster's in med. slots and 1 250mm railgun and nuetron ion blaster both with antimatter in hi slots...

5 Modal Neutron Blasters will give a nice damage output, however.... given the 200 MW powerneeds per Blaster I doubt you can stuff that on it with 5 Mag Field Stabs. In that case just remove a Blaster

Then learn the engineering skill, will help your powercore if your havnt already done so.

Definately get so much more from skills than you will get from equipment. Surgical Strike, Med/Small Hybrid turret. Gallente Cruiser level 4 doesn't suck either. Cro out...

install 4 250RGS....the coils and gauss to alot of dmg at a good range. You will need to put a few RCUS and power diags though...and some cap rechargers to support the cap.

Err, you've overlooked the obvious - heavy combat drones. The Thorax is primarily a drone ship. Learn drones lvl 5 and then drone interfacing lvl 5 and then you got yourself a flying shredder.

True though the drones issue is something you should have anyways, and often in some fights you dont even get time to launch em before its over :)

Max damage? well its pretty clear to me. 3x250mm gauss, 2x150mm S gauss, 3x 'Orion' tracking cpus, 1xRCU 1, 4x Vortex II. Now thats some mean range and firepower :].

But not max damage
Ion cannons have the best damage / time ratio of all medium hybrids. The neutrons have the best damage mod, but the lower rof of the ions makes them deal more damage over time.
5 ions, 1 shield hardener each for the damage the nps deal, 4 damage mods, 1 cpu enhancer, a 4-5 30k cruiser spawn which doesn't shoot missles, initiate a chain -> easy money.

It's funny, Anna. The setup you give is exactly what I am using against npc pirates. You can deal missile shooting and 40-50k with this setup, but not for so long.
Heavy drones in the thorax help also, of course.

LOL, this is exactly what I use :) Ion blasters have ridiculously powerful damage-over-time, and the 120+ rounds you can hold in each one ensures you won't run out of ammo in a hurry. You can still hit fairly well even out to your max range (10km or so).
Against NPC rats, you will chew them up and spit them out with this loadout.

My modal ions have a mod of 8.01 now 
It only gets annoying when certain npc ships try to keep out of your range - the ions can still hit at 11, 12km but it takes them ages to kill their target then.
