On Sunday, June 2nd 2013, I will be holding a celebration in the Otela ice belt (3 jumps from Jita), calling every able ice miner to come and celebrate the end of this permanent ice age we have gotten so used to!
On this day we will do two things, firstly we will find a small ice asteroid and focus all our effort in trying to deplete it before downtime. Not many ice miners have had the experience of depleting one, and this might be the last chance before Odyssey hits. While we are mining the same ice asteroid, we will orbit it at 15-16km, which should be quite a sight. With my maxed mining bonuses, ice harvesters gets a range of 17km. Every procurer and skiff is also welcome to hop on my skiff train, with my antiganking scorpion leading the way and barges following, approaching the barge in front of him. These ships have enough tank to discourage most smartbombing ideas people would get from such a train.
Secondly, I will do a fleet warp to a bookmark near the sun or something like that. With up to 100 fleet members at peek hours in my Otela 23/7 Mining Fleet, this might be quite the experience as well. If everyone align first, we might end up in the same warp together. Maybe I will do this several times, for people in different time zones.
People not able to mine ice are welcome to show up with festival launchers and shoot fireworks or snowballs at the ice asteroid, joining the party and contributing to even more epic screenshots! We could always use more guards to keep the regular suicide gankers at bay as well =)
After Odyssey hits, it will probably be hard to gather this many miners in the same place again, so it might be time to have some fun while we can =)

What a great idea! It will be interesting to see an ice asteroid deplete... maybe Hulks fit for maximum yield would be better?

Some people have asked when the celebration will actually be, so to clarify things: The celebration will start right after downtime on sunday, and last until downtime the following day. It is hard to say how long it is going to take to deplete an asteroid, so we might have to spend the whole day.
