I know your audio says it's a 'PCI Audio Device' but is it onboard audio by chance? I've seen many posts mentioning problems with the onboard audio and EVE.
Exact specs would be nice. MFG, model, etc

Edited by: Scragg on 04/08/2003 22:46:26 When you "updated" did you slip the Windows XP CD in and select upgrade or did you reformat your drive and install from scratch?
If you upgraded give up now. Format, do a fresh install, get DX9 then the most recent drivers for your sound and video.
Disable that onboard sound card and at least get your self a sound blaster live or Audigy if you can afford one.

Edited by: Cyclo on 05/08/2003 11:35:25 initially i went for the upgrade option... but after encountering some major problems with apps not running and eve not running, i went for the fresh install, allthough i didnt do a reformat. (witch i wish i`d done now "sniff" ).. so.. ill bite the bullit and reformat, and do a fresh (clean)install. as for the sound card, well, ill have to see what i can do about that...
P.S. how do you get your player pic to appear ?? cant figure that out!!! thanks for your sugestion anyway.. ---------------------------------------------------- "I feel like im on the run from the law of averages" |

I noticed that you didnt have your system memory on the specs list. You should have, IMHO, ATLEAST 256 to run XP with acceptable gaming performance. Preferably more and DDR rather than SD. Another thing is to make sure that your virtual memory is set up correctly. It should be on a seperate drive to your OS and be atleast 1.5 times your physical Memory.
Make sure that FSA(Anti Aliaising)Is turned to application controlled, and set your Anistropic Filtering to about midway. This should help a little after you have reinstalled. _______________________________________________
