Quote:New Caldari GÇô Caldari Navy Executive Officer Mininela Erinen testified before the Chief Executive Panel that State Executor Tibus Heth forced Admiral Visera Yanala to partake in the Tea Maker's ceremony after she was podded during the Battle for Caldari Prime. The story of a clone malfunction was a cover-up mandated by Heth and enforced on the cloning facility by the Provists.
Standing before the CEP tribunal and monitored by cutting-edge lie detecting equipment, Erinen revealed that GÇ£When it became obvious that the Shiigeru was going to be destroyed and the Oblivion was not going to be fired, Executor Heth ordered I attend him. Under Provist escort, we entered her post-rebirth chamber. Executor Heth interrogated Admiral Yanala, then offered her a cup of hak'len tea. Admiral Yanala drank the tea and died shortly after from respiratory failure.GÇ¥
Further interrogation revealed additional details of encounter, including Yanala admitting to disobeying orders to fire on Caldari Prime and defiantly drinking the tea as punishment for ever following Heth in the first place. Erinen revealed she was intimidated by the Provists and unable to countermand the order.
Erinen went on to say that the story of the clone malfunction was only concocted recently, once details of Yanala's actions were released and the Caldari citizens reacted positively. According to the admiral, GÇ£Heth became worried the workers would riot if they learned what he did. He sent his Provists to shake down the workers at the clone facility and ordered anyone else involved to keep silent on threat of treason.GÇ¥
After roughly an hour of testimony from Erinen, the CEP recessed to discuss the findings.

And now here he is, lying about something in order to prevent a workers riot himself. Funny how far he has come in a few short years.
Ah, well - At least the Exectuors zealous crusade to rid the State of corrupt, deceitful, decadent authority figures crafted in the classic Federal caricatural image no longer must take him far: He need only the nearest mirrior.

This truth is worse than fiction.
By his deeds, Tibus Heth has shown himself capable of anything in his determination to see his Vision for us Caldari become reality;
The Devastation of our Home World by Caldari hand, only averted by Admiral Yanala's disregard of direct orders.
Then Admiral Yanala's death, a forced death to punish her for he conscientious actions during the battle.
Followed by a coverup-story that "her clone malfunctioned" when it became clear that she had become a hero to the Caldari People.
And let me not forget mentioning the threatening of members of the Caldari Navy and conscientious clone workers with the threat of Treason.
I wonder how many dead were caused by the "shake down" of the workers at the clone facility... By his thugs.
-
So he has lied, murdered and betrayed his fellow Caldari, for that is what all his actions account to; betrayal of the Caldari People.
Had he taken responsibility for his actions as they happened, I could have used a lesser term.... for it would show the man had at least the decency to stand up for his actions.
But this is a Betrayal of all we Caldari hold dear; our State, our Homeworld, our Society...

Heth must go.

I am, however, also sure that the Caldari - the real Caldari - are not going to consider a Federal citizen and radio talkshow agitator one of their own. Let me rephrase that, more simply: You are not Caldari in any meaningful sense of the word.I don't know what you are hoping to achieve with your rabble-rousing efforts, but it seems that even in a best-case scenario, you'll simply embarrass yourself, and the rest of us by association.

Her silence may have a purpose, or it may not, but I see no reason to believe that my silence has a purpose. Some may argue, but they argue in vain, for they know not of true wisdom, as none of us do.
But alas, such philosophical thoughts aren't important. I, and my culture, care not for this kind of dignity.

Would agree with the following amendment; Heth must be removed as Executor. His profitability has passed. His reforms have failed to promote sustainable economic growth, his campaign for Caldari Prime has lead to widespread loss of Caldari lives and at his hands the State has lost one of it's Heroes.
Should he die?

I remember Anvent Eturrer, and I remember the criticism we leveled at the Federation for the way he was executed without due process, and in a breathtakingly inhumane way.
Are we going to go down that road? Have we forgotten who we are? We're civilised human beings kirjuuni. We're not impatient psychotics champing at the bit; We're Caldari, and we have due process for these situations. Cutting corners, brutalizing the assumed guilty, allowing our passions to drive us? That's not our way, for all that the Provists have made it our way for the last five years.
If we're going to ever get that venom out of our system then we need to start with an effort of will. We need to do this RIGHT.
Are we accusing Heth of a crime? Then we arrest him and try him. If it's a capital crime, we offer him the Hak'Len Tea prior to his trial, and maybe he'll spare us all the indignity of the trial. If he does not, we will abide by and respect the ruling of the court, whatever that may be. And if we decide upon execution, then it will be done swiftly, humanely, and with discretion.
As much as I despise the man I won't see vigilante justice done in the State by a capsuleer who's letting their heart rule their head. If need be I will defend Tibus Heth's life until he stands trial, not because I want him to live, but because I want him not to be a martyr to Empyrean anger.
Enough of this "a billion ISK for his rotting corpse" paask. It's undignified, uncivilized, and selfish. There are tens of thousands of mourning families out there who have lost loved ones to Heth's crazed crusade against the Federation and every single one of them deserve to see justice done far more than do any of us capsuleers, who are merely angry at him. Work that anger off. I had to rip two sparring drones apart, meditate and have a contemplative conversation on Achuran philosophy before I started to feel calm again but here I am, and apparently I'm the only man among us who thought to try and be Caldari about this.

The success or failure of due process is simply not dependent (or at most is only circumstantially dependent) upon its prior successes and failures.
It can work, it can not work. it has worked in the past, It has not worked in the past. it could work again, it could fail to work again. The important part is that we make the attempt anyway because following due process is the right thing to do.
Oh, and incidentally? Merely because due process has produced a result we are dissatisfied with does not mean it has failed us. The point is not to pander to human prejudices. An in-character blog and a video: http://verinsjournal.blogspot.com http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tu1mbsgo738

Not only did he force Admiral Yanala in to taking the tea ceremony, but subsequently he did not have the decency to admit it choosing instead to hide behind lies and half stories not to mention of course his provists.
Tibus Heth must now be removed from office and placed on trial for his crimes of attempted planetary genocide, murder and conspiracy.
If any good has come out of this, it is that the Navy seems no longer to be complicit in his plans and is prepared to stand up to him and to lay bare his plans. Fly Caldari! |

I suspect this whole mess stems from that original post on the matter, as it was immediately quoted and followed with a bounty on his head. Let me be clear then:
I'm not going to try to find and kill Heth. Don't be frakking ridiculous. I have responsibilities and far more well developed skills elsewhere, and I have no interest in playing a gun-toting ground-pounding bounty hunter against the Executor. However, I will leverage what assets I can spare towards seeing him removed from office, and yes, killed. That means you'll find me on the field of interstellar battle working towards his demise where appropriate and possible. Will I spend my ISK on seeing him dead? Yes. Will I fly my vessels against his interests? Yes. Will I stand to defend him like Verin Hakatain-haan should some other capsuleer attempt to end his life prematurely? No.
You see, Hakatain-haan, I'm not going to be doing anything different than what I have been. I'm not angry anymore, as my post quite clearly stated. To be clear, the bounty I placed was done before that statement, though I admit the wording of my reply may be rather venomous. Given some time to think, however, I stand by my decision.
I will admit it may not be the proper thing to do by Caldari standards, but I will make no apologies for acting against a man who seems hell-bent on destroying the Caldari way that gives rise to such standards. Heth is content to use his power to wage war on the Caldari way, I will do everything I can in my power to stop it; I don't have any loyal thugs to do my bidding, so I must instead use my assets to hire thugs.
Yes, I would like to see Heth removed from power by the CEP, and put on trial for his crimes. So far, that isn't happening. After every atrocity we hear of him commit, and every blunder that harms the State, and every self-serving announcement, Heth remains in power. KK is not removing the man who is destroying them, and the CEP has yet to tell Heth that enough is enough and reassert their authority. No justice is being done as long as nobody is pursuing the person responsible for the crimes and nobody is searching for the truth in what has happened; trial and sentence is the last step in justice being served, not the first, and the investigation hasn't yet begun.
I should also note, that Heth being brought to justice is only ONE of the things that must happen, more important is preventing him from taking further actions against the State and creating more victims. If that comes about in a way that leads to him standing trial, then that's great; if that comes about through his death, so be it. |

Ahh, a Gallentean finding excuses to meddle, while playing the victim. I was surprised to find the more honorable of the federation to take a step back and let a wounded animal lick its wounds, a shame not everyone can follow that fine example of honor.

From the mouth of Executor Heth himself. I don't know if everything in Executive Officer Erinen's testemony was 100% correct as regards the detection apparatus, but Executor Heth confirmed the central point :- He forced Admiral Yanala to undertake the Tea Maker ceremony. |

Could well be full of false-negatives. The CEP will make a wise decision no doubt, but I don't think they can drop Heth easily. The rabbit hole is most likely a lot deeper than we all think and a good rabbit always has more then one exit.
I still underwrite the goals set by Heth and I haven't read anything yet that makes me say he should be purged. -- Chaos always wins, it is simply better organized. |

For example, if they lose just a battleship, that was issued to them by the State, they take their own lives. And since Admiral was given so much honour with a whole Leviathan in a strategically important position, and lost it, the amount of dishonor for this should be really colossal. If she didn't take her life herself, than what Mr.Heth did, was saving her own honor. I think her family should be grateful to him, in some weird Caldari sense. Hi, foreigner here, sorry for the silly question. Aren't you guys big on like, ROI? It seems like a huge ISK sink to me to throw out all that education and training, particularly given that the lifespan of your average warship in New Eden is, uh, not very long. |

I am afraid you are asking wrong person. I am merely working for Caldari, but don't fully understand their way of life. What I can answer to you, is that not all battleship captains throw out 'all that education etc', but rather captains of battleships, issued with honor by the State. That's if they lose a State Issue Battleship, not just any battleship. State Issue Ravens are very rare, fairly powerful, and not to be placed in combat situations without dire need. Ergo, if you lose a State Issue Raven, you have almost certainly made a mistake, and a bad one.
Ships don't automatically come fitted with "x" amount of honor which you have to uphold. It is how you perform your duty that matters. If the captain of a State Issue Raven lost his ship in a successful and heroic defense of New Caldari, his suicide would probably not be expected. On the other hand, a cruiser captain who manages to lose his Moa to no advantage is one more cruiser pilot than we need. |
