I like my drones, they are great! However I think there should be more than just blasting and mining drones.
My simple idea that would make ranged combat so much more fun :)
Warp Scrambling drones - This drones could be evened out by being a T2 drone...VERY EXPENSIVE THEN :), and also it could take like 25M3.
Webbing drones - same really.

You don't know unless you're tried. When you've tried them or been flogged by them and you cannot figure out a way to kill drones, then come back and complain.
Don't complain before you've tried them because you may be the very person singing their praises

Wrong, actually. If you think about it, ships that depend on their drone bays for damage, such as the ishtar, domi, vexor, need every drone they can control for it. Ships that have a drone bay anyway, but use guns/missiles, have actually got the capacity to use these damn useful drones, to augment their midslots, and tackle for them, without reducing damage.
For example, on an Ishtar, with drone int 4, you lose 1/7 of your damage output, if yo uinclude a scrambler and a webber drone. [Thats assuming they'd be worth using with just one of each, I imagine you'd need two scramblers and 2-3 webber drones to lock someone down for 90% and -1 point]. On the other hand, both it and the domi have lots of mids, so can usually afford to do their own tackling. They're going to stick to combat drones, I say.
The real people who'd benefit from tackling drones are those with big drone bays, but no real need to use them - Armageddon, Typhoon, Megathron, and others. Coincidentally, these guys would LOVE to save a precious mid for more cap recharge, or sensor boosters/TCs, etc. Shield tank boats, which can't effectively tank AND tackle, would kill to use their (rarely deployed) drone bays to tackle, and use all 5-6 mids on tank. Raven, Tempest, Ferox, would get a good boost from this.

No, actually it would make Amarr ships with pulselasers and dronebays BBQ everything and ships without dronebays suffer badly.

I tend to agree with some of the above, I do't thing the Domi would be the winner but please let's have loot gathering drones to take some of the tedium out of mission running

I thinkn that scramble web drones will be a mixed blessing. With most battleships able to put out 5-10 scramble/web drones it means that smaller ships will become easy pickings for just about any of them.
Caldari ships especially will become somewhat uber, since they can mount a full shield tank/bank of jamemrs, a full set of guns, a load of damage mods or PDUIIs and still have 6 scramble strength :|

Well im not so sure this will be a i win button after all how big are they for all we know they are so big that evena dominix cant fit more than 1 [ i know its a bit of an exaduation but you get my point]

I'll remind you of that when you have lost some ships to solo-pirate-gank-ships that now can tank you, suck you dry, scramble you all at once while killing you with the freed slots....
