Dependency on CONCORD is a trap for the mind and body. Actually, calling for greater interference from this sinister organisation is truly perverse.
Better to celebrate their low presence in the region and look to your own security.
Moreover, if the corrupt and moribund Gallente Federation cannot be bothered to assist then how much stronger the case for Intaki independence?

Signed.
The Gallente Federation must fulfil it's obligation to restore and maintain law and order in the Intaki Homeworld and continue to do so for as long as they exercise authority over the region.

While I would word it differently, that is part of the reason for this petition. We are seeking a peaceful resolution so that we may not have to seek a less-than-peaceful one.
I'm sure you can understand that some of us seek our freedom by working within systems, and that we enjoy what we do have. Not everyone has the desire to strike out into unprotected space, and we should not be forced to - that's not freedom, it's the Law of the Brutal. I respect your search for true freedom - but I am simply not ready to be pushed out into that kind of lawless life right now.
Everyone must seek enlightenment at their own speed, in their own way. This is a step toward allowing for that. ________________________________________________ Everyone has the right to be ignorant, if they should so choose. But they should at least be given the choice. |

If you're not willing to take risks then perhaps you don't deserve to be in Placid.
I am willing to take risks. And as such, I am against this petition.

I think most of you are overestimating the Federations power. Placid belongs to us pirates. You ask for protection from an inferior military power that seems to be to busy with elections to really see whats important.
Unfourtunatley, for the local Placid traders, this is to late. Nothing can remove our guiding hand over Placid. It's been infested for to long. Placid is controlled by a big variety of gangs that all share one common goal, to keep Placid lawless.
We like our wild west and even if i dont speak for all pirate factions in Placid im sure that they will agree with me that if the Federation makes any attempt to change this we will have them running back to Luminaire with their tail between their legs.
Our current anarchy with several gangs fighting over supremacy in Placid might make you think it would be a walk in the park. Dont be fooled. As it is now Placid is just big enough for all of us to get our precious loot. Dont for a second think we will let another faction contest this understanding. If forced to, we might even put our grudges aside only to keep Placid the way we want it. A joint force of fearless pirates is not something you want to take on.
Consider this a warning Gallenteans. Stick to your democracy and evoloved culture, thats what you're good at. The capable Gallente fighterpilots have already turned to the darkside.

I have often done my business elsewhere due to CONCORD and/or police/navy not controlling placid and regions to those places like solitude...(long way around and through uncontrolled space...)
It's most pro*****ble for me to stay in Essence and Sinq Laison and other regions often controlled like that...
This is unfair for people in other regions like placid etc.
EDIT: isn't it silly that the "f i t t a" part of p-r-o-f-i-t-t-a-b-l-e is censored? I believe f i t t a in swedish means the female parts of a woman... just to explain... but silly sencoring!

As one of many POS operating organizations in the Placid region, I highly disagree with this petition.
We understand the need for better security in the region, but this would be at the expense of many industrial operations.
We highly suggest a round table meeting about this issue before Concord singlesidely acts on this. --

I am proud of being Intaki, proud to live in Ostngele. As a pilot, it is often difficult to exercise its freighter's profession.
But the next step must to be.... recognition of a free state Intaki.

I sign my name to this pettition.
The state of the Intaki homeworlds right now is appaling and I ask what the government does with all the taxes collected there if it can't even keep Intaki prime moderatly safe.
One side of me hopes that the Federation will finally act on this and recognize the diversity the Intaki bring as an enrichment that needs to be protected and cultivated. That while we may be a minority, we are as much a part of the Federation as the core Gallente.
On the other hand my recent visit to Intaki prime the state of affairs I saw there left me thinking that maybe the Federation isn't the right place for us anymore. If we can't be treated as equal members and citizens, with the same rights to security and safety as other citizens, all that the Gallente Federation will turn out to be is a dictatorship of the majority.
I hope I will turn out to be wrong in these thoughts, for while I am not a great fan of some of the politics and corruption going on in the government right now I strongly belive in the principles of the freedom and individuality that the Federation enbodies.
So this other side of me, a small voice for now keeps the nagging idea going that maybe we would be better off without the Federation, better off if we forged our own path. Truly I hope I am wrong in this idea.

As an Intaki currently working to keep the Placid region safe, I'll sign this too to show my support to those who cannot defend themselves.
However, I feel that asking for the authorities to act is not the right tactic here - take your own steps and begin to secure the area yourself. Otherwise you risk wasting lives until the bureaucracy steps in.
If someone is attempting that and has a place for a new combat pilot, feel free to contact me privately as I am looking for a honorable corporation to join.

We have already begun this. We have offered discounts and even the occasional free ship to those who are working to secure the Placid region. We have been bringing light to the idea of security, and have been fighting back with our security teams and other corporations who do this in the area.
Despite the words of some who think we don't want to take risks, we do realize that these risks must be taken. We're simply asking the Federation Government to do its job, to make these risks unnecessary. Noone likes _excessive_ risks, especially when the alternative is what we've been promised by the Constitution we live under.
Let the pirates go to unsecure space, where they belong. If they cannot abide by Federation Law, they should not be doing business in the Federation! Right now, they run almost risk-free themselves, with so little enforcement. I believe that their objections result from a lazy desire to remain risk-free, save for the pod pilots who choose to act in the area.
If they had real intestinal fortitude, they'd be performing their acts of piracy against people who were more willing to fight back, the people who live and work in 0.0 space and know its risks and limitation. They wouldn't be preying on the young, who often come out of the Center for Advanced studies wondering whether they should even go anywhere, since there are so many pirates so close to home.
We wish to encourage people in Placid to fight back for your homes! We are asking people to sign this petition so that, someday, perhaps we won't have to do that. ________________________________________________ Everyone has the right to be ignorant, if they should so choose. As a worker for the Federal Navy academy specializing in alocationg new Graduates into approprate corporations I can completely sympathize with this point. All to often have I seen wide eyed graduates speeding off into 0.0 space, desperate for adventures, only to be corupted into piracy by those preying on impressionable minds. Elthia your words are very inspiring indeed, and I pleadge my unfaltering support towards this petition which will be of great benefit to all fractions within the Galente Federation.
I would also urge menbers of the Intaki populance to have faith in the Galente Federation. Scouro Foiritan is a more than capable man and I am sure he is not ignorant of your plight.

I sign this petition.
I for one believe a high security pipeline should be added to Placid Region between Orvolle and Stacmon. Due to the low security nature of the existing pipeline northern and southern Placid are isolated from one another. This forces pod pilots to go through the already congested Oursulaert to get around or risk losing their ships.
The seven systems that would be affected by this would be Oulley, Aubenall, Eugales, Frarie, Vey, Agoze, and Ostingele.
In order to keep costs down the systems in the pipeline should be 0.5 and no lower or higher. This minimizes the number of Concord and Navy units that would need to be active on the area but still offer sufficient protection for regional traffic. It would also offer direct high security access to Intanki and the Serpent Coil area which is already high security.
If this was done it would reduce bloodshed, increase commerce, ease relations with the Caldari, and most of all help reduce traffic through Oursulaert.
