Mothership = Flying corp hanger, complete with the ability to fly up to with a egg, pick a ship, and undock it, then 'board' said ship. there's also a menue for the corp hanger with the seperate hanger slots. (all this gotten from watching that boot-leg vidio from the fanfest =) ) Weither or not you can 'equip' a ship with it or not i dunno, but i dought it. you probably have to pre-equip the ships befor ya stuff them into the mothership.
Havent heard anything about Flagships though =) unless those are the Titans.
In fact in this very video they say that they don't have any motherships to show us, so the carrier that they fly up to to get a ship from is a normal carrier. If the standard carrier would only be an XL dronecarrier with leadershipbonuses and the ability to carry XL energy/shield/armour transfer arrays it would be a bit sad. The part about taking out a ship from the carrier and getting items from the corp hangar in it, is what made the experience for me.
Exactly what I have always wanted from this game. Now I just need to train and save up my isk for a year or so and I will be out there...and probably get blown up just as fast...

Logically speaking, they should be allowed in empire. Dreads are not since there diet consists of POS and there are no POS in 0.5+

I dont know why people worry so much about super weapons in hub systems. There is no concevable amount of damage you could do with your one shot to compare with losing your 50 billion isk Titan. You could destroy 200 people in battleships and it still wouldn't justify the cost of getting destroyed.

Dreads aren't allowed in because the way they work keeps them from being able to enter. Also, if you were the commander of the CONCORD forces in the region, and saw a TITAN jump into the system, would you simply sit there looking at it until it fired its superweapon? What about the local navy? I'm fairly certain that if someone outside the Caldari navy flew a Titan into Caldari space, they'd strike it with everything possible as a safety precaution.
Honestly, what would be the point of taking a titan into empire space? You're not going to fire its weapon and NOT hit something that triggers a CONCORDDOKKEN against your -entire gang-. The normal carrier will apparently beable to enter empire space (would make sense, provided it's not to big for jump gates), and should be useable, since it's not setup for things like POS destroying, and atleast one captial ship needs to beable to go in empire.
Titans can only be built in POSes in 0.0, and like dreads, won't beable to jump inot high-sec space. Dreads can be built in high sec empire systems, but you'd risk having it stuck there forever (but damn what a nice suprise you'd have for an enemy in an empire war in that system).

There will be only 1 brightly coloured ship and it shall be the pink dreadnought of pwnage, all others are inferior and redundant. You can polish it though if you ask nicely

Q: If ISD is the police, who will police the police?
A: The Coast Guard.
Back on topic, my guess is we're going to see a .5+ ban on all capital ships. There's no reason to have them, they present a security risk, and they'll terrify the carebears. ------ I generally assume the following: 1. 95% of Empire Carebears don't get 0.0 PVPers. 2. 95% of 0.0 PVPers don't get Empire Carebears. 3. 100% of Ore Thieves steal just to upset the Miners. |

There's plenty of reasons to have carriers in highsec. They're fleet ships, and there are many fleet battles in high sec.

If CCP is smart, they'll make the bonus from carriers, if any, apply only to XL drones. Though I don't think they have any turret slots, so that would make mining fairly pointless anyway.

Probably that would simply make concorde call for concorde dreads to come, or something.
Polaris frigate vs dreadnaught would be interesting... "/kill strikes you perfectly wrecking for 1000000000000 damage"
Polaris frigs don't have hi slots.
I hope GMs don't need hi slots to enter console commands.

id like to see an event where one of these carriers is stolen and run through empire (perhaps the sanshas and blood raiders could team up for this theft)

I'd rather see Monolyx return to bring doom on all. It would eb cool ifa Serpentis fleet made it's way to a highly populated system and somehow opened a Cyno field and summoned Sarpati in hid Titan to bring dooom on all.
