you really need observators, or to hire a guy with observators. I've scanned in systems where people have said theire were hidden complexes and found nothing. Of course that was with Fathoms.

I have yet to see any complex you cant find with 12au or less probes. Most/All of the publicly listed hidden complexes are fake.

An easy way to figure out whether a plex is fake or not is by its name, hidden plexes dont have the same names as public ones and dont have difficulty ratings either. So anyone who says there a hidden 5/10 angel complexes somewhere is talking do-do. Wink

Atm the only real way of fiding hidden plexes by scanning every system using your normal scanner looking for 'Cosmic Signatures', then when you find one use scan probes.

...which limites you to a 14.6AU radius, and i have yet to see any confirmation all "seeded" hidden complexes are within 14.6AU of any planet/moon/belt/station in a system.

What about the old rumours that observator probes are bugged or at least cant be used to find hidden complexes (AKA cosmic signatures), is it true?

Yep, I found the one in Ziasad too, with 3au probes.
The name of the hidden beacon is SanshaŚs Fortified Outpost (Cosmic Signature).

Can anyone confirm that the alleged hidden complex in Oyonata, Devoid is a fake?

Hi,

well, thats nice.. at least we know SOME can be found by standrd scanner...
Now can anyone of you try to find that known complex with a deep space probe from a distant spot so we get a confirmation astrometrics 5 really wasnt a waste of time?

That would be VERY nice of you ince im far off that place to try myself...

If you do, you can also leave me an evemail, would be highly appreciated ;)

Thanks in advance...

Firstly... CCP has completely given up on making probes work, so the time wasted on Astrometrics 5 is just that... time and subscription cost that goes to CCP without you getting crap all in return.

The 192au probes - no one knows if they work. Since finding a BS parked 1au away seems beyond the ability of triangulated probes of all sizes I daresay finding a hidden plex that's not in eyeshot of your ship is pretty much luck. I highly doubt the big probes are worth much other than creating deep safespots.

Are there hidden complexes? Probably 1 in 10 aren't fake intel, and even that 1 no one is going to say anything about because they're pharming it 23/7.

Complexes should pick up and relocate once defeated, that is only pure logic, and to prevent nonstop pharming.

Thankfully, Zrakor has at last put the myth of hidden complexes to rest.

The ones you can find with scan probes are not static since they are apparently all spawned for missions. Which doesn't keep some people from selling bookmarks, of course.

Grismar's EVE Explorer has the most comprehensive and accurate public listing of complexes and I'm trying to collect more data for Grimar. Printable lists of confirmed complex locations for some region are also available on my site.

I am strongly disagree. Astrometrics 5 is one the best SP investments because you can use observators, not to mention the 50% scanning speed boost.

Finding any ship within 1au is a piece a cake. I can do it without any probes by the way, but with snoops it will be a lot faster of course.

Anyway, I find probes very useful, but again, I am pretty good with the standard scanner, so probes simply extend my abilities and saves me a lot of time.

Sorry to disappoint you , but that 1 has always been there.
Granted it's a hidden plex, but it's the 1 that drops a tag you need for an agentoffer.

Astrometrics has no influence on the scann duration any longer.
If you're not out for observators, Astro 4 seems enough as you wont be scanning for all 5 signature grops anyway - especially since one of the groups does not contain anything so far.

The cause for this is not yet known, but we do have a possible fix in testing.
