Thats right... Rate the best pirate corp based on:
1) tactics (in an even fleet conflict, they outplay you)
2) number (who dont run from battle and put up a fair fight since they have numbers)
3) skills (we dont like pirates just killing friendly miners)
4) courage (who still put up a fight while they are short and not afraid to lose some ships for some pvp funs)
Tell us what you feel, and let me tell you, a pirate corp possesses all those 4 qualities should be called "outlaws" instead of pirates. Whats the difference? you figure it out. So let the votes in. |

Hmm, I can't really sort out each of these, but I have a top 4 that could easily fit into each category.
Snigg, Teddybears, L00T, and TunDragons
Edit: Funny how the best are from syndicate, imo.

I am in Fix, still a noob so only have few times flying against or heard of 2 rat corps.
CF and FZN
generally i heard FZN is more organized. Regarding skill part, I think both corps have fair number of good pvpers. But we got Nez and our crazy kamikazy fighters :/ |

I'd say m0o, but they're inactive. So currently it's Snigg, since they're honorable and straightforward in what they do. None of the crap so many other corps put forth.

Though, sadly, they no longer play, The Jokers.
4 Jokers in bs's, took on 15 Cho' Arrim a long time ago, 6 bs in Cho' force, though admittedly, not fitted for pvp, in process of retaking a conq. station. The battle lasted one and a quarter hours.
Jokers took no casualties. Cho', though mostly noobs at the time, nevertheless lost all.
And before the engagement, they asked one more time for us to pay for their "Insurance package." Then they "bowed" to us in space, simultaneously dipping the noses of their ships before begining to fire.
Most courteous role-playing, most effective pvp, most honourable 'rat corp.
S*****rdly, must now be their default heirs to the crown of best pirate corp. Honourable, effective, sense of humour.:)

I would have to say Sneaky Magic Inc...mainly cause they were my first real pirate enemy.
Well, I met MAFIA first, but they couldnt even kill my Bellicose with a Raven, BB, and Caracal...lol.

Like robo and muth said, theyre are no real pirates anymore, CCP effectively removed them with the addition of sentries in 0.4 and below, so now its gank and grab rather than lockdown and ransom. Also if you werent there pirating shortly after release like i was dont even ******* comment.

The only real piracy legends in Eve are Jokers.
The rest, yes even great groups like m0o, space invaders and more contemporary guys like teddybears and snigg can not in all honesty compare to what Jokers did.
If there ever was true piracy in Eve, a combination of roleplay, great style and utterly scary skill then the Jokers were it.
edit: just to be clear, I think piracy shouldnt just be ransoming or extortion, but ransoming and extortion with style. Cutthroat style or semi-romantisized style is equally valid tho, but there's so few small corps in Eve that do stuff liek this in style these days :(

What makes someone a "pirate"? imo its making a living trough killing people.
That being said you should rate pirates on the outcome of their deeds, so wich group of pirates has the most isk.
